TS1363 My old Ipod shows up in My Computer but does not show up on the iTunes page, so I don't know how to download music to the iPod.
Ever since I did a recent update of itunes I don't see any infornation of the iPod on the itunes page. So I can't download any of the music I have on the computer onto the ipod.

My iphone 4S shows up on my computer but does not show up in itunes devices. I have all security
I just got an iPhone 4S and am unable to get it to show up as a device in iTunes.
I previously backed up my old iPhone on my Windows 7 PC. When I connect my 4S to the PC it is recognized by the PC but does not show up as a device in iTunes.
I have turned off all virus protection software & have tried uninstalling iTunes and all associated Apple software. I reinstalled all Apple software with no results in my 4S showing up as a device in iTunes.

I bough a 4g Ipod nano 2nd gen for my cousins birthday. When i plug it into my computer it charges but does not show up in windows or itunes. I tried reseting it, reinstalling itunes, everything the site said but it didn't help. I am trying to sync songs to it for my cousin, but it won't work with it not connecting. Could the wire have something to do with it or is there a bigger problem here?

Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
- New cable and different USB port
- Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

My iPad will show up in my computer, but will not show up in iTunes.
I have windows 8 and the latest software of iTunes on my computer. When I plug my iPad in, it shows up in my computer, but it will not show up in iTunes. I have tried everything besides resetting my iPad from the troubleshoot guide on the apple website. My mom just got an iPad mini for christmas and iTunes will not recognize her iPad either. The requirements for that app state that you need a 3rd-generation or 4th-generation iPod touch, with iOS 4.2 or later. Is what what you have?

Movies I have purchased through Itunes show up on my computer, but do not show up on Apple TV
Latley I have notices that movies in my Itunes library are "missing" from my apple TV's. I have checked under get info "type", checked show in windows explorer, but certain movies just are not in the purchased catagory on the apple tv.
Sign out of the Apple ID on the ATV and sign back in.
Honestly not sure why it matters, if they are on the computer, play them via the Computers option on the ATV to avoid streaming them over the Internet. -

I can't sync music already on my computer to my ipod touch; the ipod shows up under Devices in itunes but does not show buttons (Summary etc.) when I click on it. I've read through all the Help tutorials but none of them say what to do if the sync options don't pop up when you highlight the device. I've already spent way too much time trying to figure this out and it's driving me crazy! Thanks for any help you can offer.
This is correct. It will not show in finder. It is not an external storage device.
The music sync is one way - computer to ipod. The only exception is itunes purchases. Open itunes connect ipod, do not sync, click File>Transfer Purchases -
I recently downloaded Ios 7 and all the songs that i have purchased before, but deleted off my itunes because i didn't want them, showed up. I don't know how to delete them off my ipod and i really don't want them there. Is there a way to get them off? The songs dont show up in my itunes on my computer, just on my ipod with a download button next to them. I don't want them there anymore because i don't like that kind of music anymore and i don't know how to get them to go away.
There is a similar setting for Videos on that Settings screen, so if you leave that 'on' you may have similar happening in the Videos app

You should be syncing your contacts with an app on your computer or cloud service (iCloud, Gmail, Yahoo, etc), and not relying on a backup. If you haven't been doing this, start now and then restore your old backup. You will then be able to sync the new contacts back into the phone. However, you will lose all messages, etc newer thant the backup.

I tried to use my ipod as a disk to transfer my itunes library from my desktop to my notebook (both Dell), now my ipod charges, but does not show up in itunes or on either of my computers. I have used the advice of going to control panel and unchecking the box under power management but that didn't work, CAN SOMEONE PLEASE PLLLEEEEAAAASSSSSSSEEEEEEE HELP ME?
I have windows xp on one and vista on the other, if that helps.This worked for me, don't know if it will for you. Have ITunes open. While IPod is connected to computer press(at the same time) the menu and center buttons until your screen goes black and shows the apple icon then immediately press the forward button. Your IPod should show up. It won't hurt to try it, even if it doesn't work. Hope this is of some help to you.
