  • Found a fix for windows not recognizing vision M, possible for oth

I went through the same frustration as so many people about windows not recognizing my vision M. Here's how I solved it. Go to device manager (right click on My Computer, choose manage then device manager) go to the unrecognized usb device, right click and choose update driver. choose no fior connecting to windiows update, then install software from a specific location, now choose don't search, I will choose the driver to install, find and install the driver for portable devices called MTP device. this should solve the issue. this is only for players not recognized by windows. I'm not sure if some versions of wondows can't figure out where to find the driver or what.

Yes that is one way to get it working
    Otherways are suggested <a href='http://www.nomadness.net/modules.php?name=FAQ&myfaq=yes&id_cat=8&categories =Nomad+Jukebox+Zen#228' target=_blank>here[/url].
Glad to hear that you got your issue solved on your own.

  • WIndows not recognizing my ipod shuffle ?!?

I've downloaded itunes, tried researching and troubleshooting til I'm blue! I plug in the ipod and the only thing my device manager shows is USB mass storage device. By the way, my ipod did NOT come with an installation disc. And yes it's fully charged. The orange lights up while charging and when I plug in the ear pods the blue light stays lit.
iTunes is not recognizing the ipod either (as my friend said it should)
I even installed itunes on a friends' computer and had the same problem. I just got this for my son for Christmas and needless to say he's a bit disappointed.
    Did I buy a lemon?
    Please help!!!

  • Fix for iTunes and Windows not recognizing iPod after 7.7 upgrade...

    ..it worked for me!
XP wanted drivers for the iPod, and I used the method in this doc with one exception:
iPod is not recognized properly by computer when USB drivers are not installed properly or are out of date
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305136
...when the wizard came up and asked to look for the driver, I clicked "Search for the best driver in these locations" except instead of windows/inf I went to system32/drivers and found a subfolder with USBAAPL.SYS [the driver name] in the title... it was a hidden folder so you'll have to have them visible to see it. Using that folder as the target for the search picked it up immediately and then everything was fine.

    Hello Overdrive_king,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
I'm assuming you also tried using different USB ports (preferably ones attached directly to the motherboard) as well as using a different USB cable as well just for good measure?
If you choose Computer from the Start menu, does your iPod show up as a mounted drive there? What happens if you put it into disk mode using the instructions provided here.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1363
It might also help to try the other solutions mentioned in this article related to your issue as necessary (I know you have already tried a number of them).
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1369
And lastly, it wouldn't hurt to remove and re-install the necessary drivers for your iPod.

  • Windows not recognizing ipod at all, but recognises other MP3 players.

I just bought a ipod nano red 4 GB from a friend. I looked at the settings on the ipod and it is set to windows. When I connect the ipod to windows with an apple power cord I get "USB Device Not Recognized. One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and windows does not recognize it. For assistance in solving this problem, click this message." But when it is connected it charges. so i don't know how it can be malfunctioning. this happened on two computers.

Since the iPod seems to be recognised on other comps then it does sould as if the problem is with the comp rather than the iPod itself.
Make sure the iPod is fully charged before you start.
Try creating a new user account on the comp which won't recognise the iPod and use that account.
Go through the apple 5R's, be sure to uninstall iTunes and the iPod software with the iPod disconnected from the comp and when you reinstall do so with the iPod disconnected and only connect the iPod when the software prompts you to do so or after the install has completed. You might like to reboot the PC after you've uninstalled the iTunes and iPod software and reboot again after you've completed the reinstall. Follow apple's instructions to the letter.
If you still don't get it to work you will need to consider reinstalling XP and starting over with a clean install.
    Hope that helps.

  • Windows not recognizing bluetooth mouse

Oh Geez, now on top of not being able to hold down option key and having it give me the option to select a startup drive, Windows is completely oblivious to my bluetooth mouse using Bootcamp 3.04.  Suggestions?

  • Windows not recognizing iPod mini

When I connect my iPod mini to my computer, nothing happens. It is not recognized by iTunes or explorer. I can get the iPod to charge if I reset it while it's plugged in, but otherwise nothing happens. I tried plugging it in to an old laptop that I have and it seemed to be recognized fine, without having any iPod drivers installed or anything of that sort.

    Hello tnewell,
If you can mount the iPod mini as an external drive, try reformatting using the instructions provided in this article.
    http://www.methodshop.com/gadgets/ipodsupport/erase/index.shtml
Otherwise, I would work through each of the steps in this Apple support document. You can opt to do either and in any order if necessary.

  • Windows not recognizing my time capsle - I just purchased a new computer that runs windows 8 and it doesn't want to recognize the time capsule as an external hard drive (ie doesn't show up under my compter).  I've downloaded airport utility...

I just purchased a new computer that runs windows 8 and it doesn't want to recognize the time capsule as an external hard drive (ie doesn't show up under my compter).  I've downloaded and run airport utility, but it seems to have a hard time finding the time capsule...maybe one out of 10 times it will find it.
What's more, when I look under network infrastructure under the control panel, it shows my Broadcom ADSL centurylink Router...so I'm wondering if my modem/router combo is overriding the router function on my timecapsule and the time capsule is not being used as a router...
    Any help much appreciated!

In this case the TC should be in bridge mode.
Win8 is still problematic. Try using ethernet instead of wireless. I think the drivers are poor still and it is well worth having a try via ethernet if you haven't already.
Otherwise you will need to wait for apple to release bonjour for windows 8 and airport utility.. which is not out yet.
Also make sure the windows is set to home, not work or public.. even turn off the firewall.
Open windows explorer and type the TC ip address into the address bar.. (none of which is perhaps the same.. I gave away windows at vista.. shudder)

  • Flash 8 Windows Not Recognizing Flash 5 Mac .fla file!!

I have been forced to change computers from Mac to Windows.
My Mac has .fla files created in Flash 5, and I am attempting to
transfer them to my Windows machine (XP Media), where I am using
Flash 8 Professional. My problem: some of the files I created in
Flash 5 on the Mac are transferring to the Windows environment just
fine...and others aren't recognized at all by Flash 8 (and I get an
error from Windows saying it cannot transfer the files because it
"cannot read from the source file or disk", despite their having
been created on exactly the same machine using the same program. I
have to sell this Mac, but now I am afraid to until I can figure
out how to successfully transfer these files. Any suggestions,
    anyone?

how are you transferring them? it doesnt sound like a flash
issue as many have been sharing FLA
files cross-platform for years witout issue. There's a chance
the FLAs are corrupt as well.

  • PRESARIO V2000T WINDOWS NOT RECOGNIZING DVD DRIVE

I HAVE COMPAQ PRESARIO V2000 (XP) (DZ 667AV) WITH A PIONEER DVDRW-DVRK15 AND WINDOWS NO LONGER RECOGNIZES DRIVE.  DEVICE MGR MESSAGE=Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39).  USED DRIVER DETECTIVE FOLLOWING IS A PARTIAL MESSAGE:   (1327)This error has several causes. One cause is that the installation was created with a hard-coded path to a drive letter that does not exist on the machine. If this is the case then there is no way to make the installation install to a different drive letter. The software vendor must be contacted.  SUPPORT FROM HP IS EXPIRED FOR MY LAPTOP.  WILL A DRIVER DOWNLOAD WORK AND WHERE DO YOU SUGGEST I FIND THE WINDOWS DRIVER?

Ho boy! We have had several problems in recent threads with this dvd drive that I call the drive from the twilight zone. As I recall, it usually ended up a drive replacement, which is very painless and only costs $31. See:
    Install video: http://eshop.macsales.com/tech_center/installation.cfm
    Drive selection: http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/optical-drives/superdrives/powermac/
If you check previous threads and then decide to change drives, there it is.

  • Windows not recognizing that my ipod is connected

Right now im annoyed!! What happened is this! I got a ipon nano for christmas and installed all the software on my mums computer at home, the ipod worked fine. I returned to my house after xmas and installed the software again, and everytime i instert my wire nothing happens, the screen on my ipod doesnt change and itunes says that no ipod is connected. I tried uninstalling everything and reinstalling, still didnt work, so then tried installing updater, but asked me to connect ipod to update, still didnt recognize my ipod. I read through all of my leaflets and noticed that it said that ipod can onloy be installed on any one computer or apple device at anytime?
So yesterday i went into the apple store, and they played around with my wire as they thought it might be the problem, they were NO help at all, just told me it worked and theres and to go home and try it, needles to say it didnt work, ive just tried my wire in my friends laptop who is an ipod shuffle and it worked fine. Now what the **** is going on?? its utterly disgraceful that these things cost so much and i cant use it!

Okay, first, lets try putting the iPod into Disk Mode then it should be recognized by the computer. Does it say "Do Not Disconnect" on the iPod when it's connected?

  • Windows not Recognizing my iPhone 4 in dfu mode

I am running Windows 8 (up to date) and iTunes 11.1.0 (most current). When I place my device in dfu mode, windows says that the driver malfunctioned and it cannot recognise my iPhone 4. I looked online for a driver to download manually, but I can't find one anywhere! Thanks so much!

    Excuse me?
I don't know what you meant to ask, but this makes very little sense.
