TS1368 When i use my itunes password on my ipad2 i get "unknown error"
On my ipad2 when i am in itunes and trying to download a show or song, when prompted for my password i enter it and get "unknown error"
Please help
Quite often, when you get the "unknown error" message, this can resolve it, so give it a try.
Sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try again.

In iTunes, my back up is not encrypted (the box isn't checked). But when I use an app to export my SMS, it sends me an error message saying 'Your iPhone backup is encrypted. Open iTunes and disable the "Encrypt iPhone Backup" option'. But I do not have my back up encrypted!!! This is maddening! What do I do?
If I am guessing that app correctly, then install the latest s/w version 1.5.9.
Was at 1.4.3 previously and faced the same issue as yourself when I upgraded to iOS 5.0.1. Solved it by grabbing the latest sms export s/w. -

Network connection IS active. Network connectivity test confirms, but shows Secure link to ITunes store failed. Tried help from diagnostics but get message that help is unavailable because computer isn't connected to internet (but it is). Diagnostic details show current user is not administrator (but is). If you're getting that one on iTunes 7.3.0.54, try an upgrade to iTunes 7.3.1.3. (Note that Michael, who replied to you earlier in the thread, is reporting that here: http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=4923385#4923385 )

You can keep trying to restore the device from backup until you remember the password. If you're having trouble, try:
Leaving the password field blank
Your Apple ID password
Your computer account password, if you have one
Email passwords you may have used
Your Wi-Fi network password
Website passwords you may have used
A password for hard-disk encryption software, if you use it

My friend wanted to get some music off my itunes - when syncing it it said she had to update her phone software first - which it did. Now all her photos are gone. When we tried to restore the last back up - the only one was from when she used my itunes 6 months ago which was from her old iphone. So now it has put all her photos from her old phone onto her new iphone and deleted all the new ones. We cannot find her new photos. Please help and there was 100 new pics. Is there any way we can get them back. I already have the program Asoftech - but it doesnt seem to register the iphone only C and D drive. Please help!

This is called "stealing". You do not have the legal right to give her the music you have in your iTunes library unless you are the copyright holder.

That's not quite what it said. Someone should have paid more attention to the great big warning about the possibility of losing data if the phone wasn't backed up.

It restored the backup that was made on your computer 6 months ago, which did not contain those photos. You're wasting your time trying to find them on the phone. They don't exist.
Hopefully, your friend syncs her phone to her own computer on a regular basis. She needs to plug her phone into her computer and restore it from her last backup. That will restore it to the state it was in when the backup was made.
She also needs to get in the habit of extracting the photos on a regular basis, like she would from any other digital camera. -
I set up a playlist in itunes and when I try so sync it to my iphone, I get an error message "itunes could not copy "x" to the iphone "x" because a timeout error occurred. Using itunes 10.5.2.11 and Windows Vista 64. Any help? Thanks in advance!

Help?What you are telling me is contradictory information. So you will have to start over and give us proper details. One can not download Leopard for example. Or even Snow Leopard.
