My itouch is not recognized by my computer, device manager or itunes. However, it will charge on a wall charger. I'm not able to upload any of my music to my itouch now because its not recognized. I'm trying to update my apps in my macbook , the apple id is not mine and it's disabled and cannot change it, I'm the admin and my apple id shows correctly in iTunes and iCloud etc. only app store shows a disabled apple id why?! the computer has3 accounts

Problem - grayed out apple id in app store
I have signed in to my account, I am the admin and my apple id is correct shown in itunes, and other apps except the appstore.
In Appstore, it shows another email id and it is disabled.
Problem
1. I do not know why another email id is visible in my account (we have separate accounts on this laptop , all admins)
2. Why wouldn't it allow me to change the login name and let me get on with my updates!!
Options already looked
1. phone - asked me to go to support blah blah .apple.com
2. internet - i'm here.
3. Applet id - manage on line- all is well there. no need to change anything.
4. other apps with apple id involved - checked and works fine.

ITouch 32GB will not be regconized by Windows XP or iTunes 8.0

iPod Touch charges OK, but the PC seems just not to recognize it. Any help? I have tried the Device Manager way, but i never get anywhere. The actual iPod is fine. How can i get just iTunes to wake up and see it?

If I change the way music is saved (folders) in my computer would it affect itunes library?

I like to have my music organized (in my computer). I used to have it in "my music" in windows, now is in itunes music folder, but the way they were stored is one folder per artist and sub folder for each album. This is not how I prefer as it makes it cumbersome to select music I want added to my library. Before I had it by groups like classical, rock, anime, instrumental, pop, etc, etc. So if I re-organize my music in my computer the way I prefer it, would it affect later on when I add them to my library? I hope I make sense.

Did you try tapping on the download to bring up a pause status? You can finish the download on the computer in iTunes. You may be able to delete the download by swiping across the progress bar of the download after you finish the download on the computer.
Launch iTunes on your computer and go to Store>Check for available downloads. Finish the download in iTunes and then try to delete the download from the iPad.

Agent cannot change to the requested state from current state

Hi all,
I have a new setup using uccx 8 and ccme 8.1 . Everything seems fine exept from randomly agents stuck to a not ready state. When trying to go to a ready state we get the following error "cannot change to the requested state from your current state" . The only option is to log out the agent and then log back in.
Any ideas?

I did the downgrade but no good. After a long search i found what finally the problem is.
The lines are stuck when there is a trasfer from a non icd dn to an icd dn. Believe it or not this is not supported when the setup uses ccme
You cannot transfer a call from a common dn to a uccx extension.

Cannot change interface lang. to english.

Hello fellas. I have Nokia 6070.
I know it seems like a silly question, but I cannot change the language to english. In the language settings I only have automatic (which is russian) and there's no any other choice.
I tried to perform restore factory defaults in menus, but it didn't help.

There is something very amiss with your phone because ALL Nokia devices leave the factory with English regardless of what other languages are vailable. You'll need to have the phone software reinstalled, but I'm pretty sure the 6070 is too old a model to be compatible with Nokia Software Updater, which means you'll need to take it to a Nokia service point. Reinstallign the software should leave the phone in a 'just out of the box' state.

Between our family,the 5 of us we have 11 devices: 5 ipods, 1 ipad,3 itouches and 1 iphone but only 1 itunes acct. Having problems when we log in-anyway around setting up individual accts for each person?

Friends have said our problem is either: you can only have 5 devices on 1 account or you have home sharing maxed out {we have the itunes loaded on 4 computers + my computer at work}. ... not sure how we can resolve this. Do I have to set each person up with an itunes account? Seems werid my kids under 12 having their own account. please advise.. with the populairty of apple devices, I would think others have this same problem???

jbrooker, I am having a similar issue to roaminggnome, we have 4 windows laptops, 2 iPhones, 5 ipods.
I have the iTunes account and the music Library on my laptop and this is used to sync to my iPhone and 4 iPods = 5 devices.
I have managed to share my library with my wifes laptop and she can access it when my PC is not on, she is also able to sync her iPhone to her laptop. She has her own iTunes account.
My son has an iPod and laptop but no iTunes account, his iPod is synced to my laptop and my iTunes account. But his laptop cannot download my iTunes Library he is getting a message saying that my iTunes account is synced to the maximum of 5 devices. Thus he can only see the library when my laptop is at home (and I take my Laptop to work etc).
Would this problem go away if my son has an iTunes account? He's only 11yo so I'm reluctant to set him up with one just yet.
Any advice would be appreciated.

First check to see if you have the Report Generation Toolkit installed. You can check by going to your Windows Control Panel >> Add/Remove Programs >> National Instruments >> Change. If you don't have a NI LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit entry in the list that appears, then go ahead and reinstall your Report Generation Toolkit.
If you do have an entry for the Report Generation Toolkit, check to see if you have support installed for your version of Office. You can do this by going to your Windows Control Panel >> Add/Remove Programs >> National Instruments >> Change >> NI LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit >> Modify. From there, you can install support for the necessary versions of Office.
If neither of those options work, I
would uninstall and reinstall the toolkit from the Add/Remove Programs utility.

Cannot change filename extensions any longer

Hi,
this morning I encountered a strange problem:
In Finder, I cannot change the file name extensions any longer. When I hit enter and change e.g. Example.txt to Example.taskpapertheme, it will automatically be renamed to Example.taskpapertheme.txt as soon as I hit enter. I _can_ rename it via the Get Info-pane, on the other hand. I tried it in the Applications folder too, and it will always add the "correct" extension to the one I chose instead of just asking me whether I really want to do this.
Then again, I just renamed an .taskpapertheme file to .txt, and it worked. I could even reverse this, so the problem seems to be limited to some files.
I have no idea what to do, so I'd really appreciate your help!

Thank you, but unfortunately that didn't help.
I know about extensions and file types, but normally OS X will let me change it if I really want to do it, even if it's stupid like renaming .app to .txt.
The problem is, that OS X doesn't ask me any longer, but automatically adds the previous externsion to the filename after the extension I need to make some program recognize it. In my example, the theme files for TaskPaper are plain text files, but only load if they are named .taskpapertheme - unfortunately I cannot rename it in Finder as it will always add .txt when I finish editing the filename.

Cannot Change Permissions

Here's the scenario:
Server: 10.5.8
Desktops: 10.5.8
User Homedirs: AFP
The user's can connect and work on their documents within their network homedirs without a problem. Sometimes an excel spreadsheet will come up with an error that the file is read-only. To resolve this, they just rename the file. But what I have noticed is that all the users cannot change the permissions on their files. If you do a command+I on the file you see the permissions, but there is no lock icon to unlock the permissions portion. If you change the permissions, whether user, group, or everyone, you receive an error that says: "A system error has occurred: error code -50" However, if I go to the command line and type in for example: sudo chmod -vf 0775 filename. The permissions change. What's going on?
Is this a POSIX issue... where the drive is running on POSIX compliance and not ACLs? I noticed in Server Admin that the File Sharing setup for the drive did not have an ACL list. Everything was being done by POSIX permissions.

I have a problem with my data folder for Eudora. There is a category that I do not know or recognise.
The usual Command-I opens folder info; the at the bottom permissions reads as follows:
Name Privilege
1 michaelg (me) Read & Write
2 (unknown) Custom
3 everyone No Access
Settings for 1 & 3 are fine; however, I am unable to delete the 2nd entry which is an alien implant. Could some kind individual help me to do this in Terminal, if possible?

Selected component cannot be renamed...

Anyone else have this issue before and know of a fix?? It tells me the selected component cannot be renamed during the session, and to please try a different name. When I close the session, which I assume is the program, and reopen it, I still can't rename the file. Mind you when it says component Im actually trying to rename a optimized graphic too, not an actual component. Even if I delete the component which has the same name, rename it or change the name to something else, it still wont let me rename the optimized graphic to the name the component had which should really not have anything to do with it anyway.. And there is no other file in the optimized graphic with the same name.. Is there a way to clear the systems cache..or some work around for this? I've tried restarting program, and computer to no avail..
Thanks in advance, btw Im really liking flash catalyst and am aware its still a relativetly new program which still may have a few bugs and kinks needed to be worked out, but if there is a workaround or fix for this issue that would be great. I'd hate to have to create a new naming structure just because I make a fix to something, have to delete it, and then cant rename it to the same name when I recreate it because the system still thinks its being used.

Catalyst today more or less reserves any filename in your project's library while that project is open. This means that you'll probably run into trouble deleting an item named "bob" and then trying to rename another item to "bob". Catalyst releases everything when you close a project, however, so you should be able to delete / rename the first item, close your project, reopen, and rename the second item.
It's an unintuitive restriction that will hopefully be loosened in the future, but for now that's the way Catalyst works.

My iCloud account is grayed out on my iPad and iPhone and I cannot change it. It was previoudly set up as my email account that I no longer have access to. I was apple to change my Apple ID, but not the iCloud account. How can I change it?

If your new ID was changed (renamed) from your old ID rather than being an entirely new ID, recreate it by going to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.
