TS1369 ipod not recognized in my computer or itunes frozen with usb and itunes logo

My daughter's itouch is frozen with the usb symbol and itunes logo and I have tried EVERYTHING on the apple support site to no avail.  Any suggestions on how to reset it are greatly appreciated!!!

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My ipod not recognized by the computer or itunes?

Ok, the iPod works fine playing music and watching videos and everything else it is supposed to, and it charges fine. But when i plug it up my PC to sync new music, the screen on the iPod does like normal and goes to the gray and orangeish screen that says Connected, then immediately says Disconnecting iPod and shows the little progress bar as if you had ejected it. How can it do this on it's own before anything has recognized it?
I have done everything that the Support on here has said, the 5 r's and all that, and nothing. Checked device manager on my computer and it actually says that is is plugged up and recognized, but has a yellow exclamation point beside it. The properties of it says this error...
"Windows cannot use this hardware device because it has been prepared for "safe removal", but it has not been removed from the computer. (Code 47)"
These errors occurred two days again until now, i have made no recent updates on my computer or iPod to have damaged anything but these problems randomly occur. it's really odd and if someone could help me it would be great.

Have you carefully worked through each and every suggestion in this Apple support document?

  • My iPod Shuffle 4th generation 2GB is not recognized by My Computer in Windows or under Devices in iTunes.

Everyone has the same problems. My iPod has been plugged in properly, I have followed all the support suggestions but nothing works. HELP PLEASE!

I have downloaded that utility but can not use it, as
when I plug the shuffle into the USB port, it is not
recognized by either computer I am using. I can not
reset or restore, because in order to do that the
computer would have to know the shuffle is plugged in
and it doesnt. I have tried this on two different
computers and get the same result, so I dont think
its a computer issue, its an ipod issue. I also used
to be albe to play the shuffle on the Xbox 360 and
    now can not.
Just as a check, did you actually follow the THESE directions...EXACTLY?
    Using iPod shuffle Reset Utility
    1. Quit all running applications on your computer.
    2. Open the iPod shuffle Reset Utility.
    3. Connect iPod shuffle to a USB port on your computer. Do not connect iPod shuffle to a USB port on your keyboard or other non-powered USB hub.
    4. Click the Restore button. If prompted, enter an Admin user name and password.
    5. The restore process will start.
    6. When it is complete, quit iPod shuffle Reset Utility and open iTunes to sync music to your iPod shuffle.

  • TS1369 Ipod is recognized by my computer but not iTunes

When i plug my ipod into my computer i can not find it on itunes. when i go to whats on "This PC" it shows up there; just like when you plug in a jump drive, but not on iTunes. How do i fix this??

    Hello Logan,
I would be concerned too if my iPod was not recognized by iTunes.  If Windows recognizes your iPod but iTunes does not, follow the steps in this article:

  • Ipod not recognized by my computer or itunes

I have tried all of apple's suggestions on the support site, but they have not worked for me. I plugged it into my roomates computer and it at least recognized it. • Ipod not recognized in My Computer or in itunes 7

    Hi,
Yesterday I upgraded to itunes 7. I also tried to restore my ipod as I was having a variety of issues with it.
Unfortunately afterwards my ipod is no longer picked up by my computer or itunes. It has some songs(200 out fo 6000) on there and works. I have tried to reset it by pushing menu and select. Nothing happens.
When I run itunes 7 ipod diagnostics it says nothing is connected. But you can see there is something connected.
I have gone into admin tools and manulla stopped the ipod service. This does not help.
I get an error from my computer saying the USB does not recognize the device.
I have seen links about the HP USB formatting tool but not sure if I should try that.
Has anyone out there overcome a similiar situation and or have ideas?

I think I found a solution. I found these directions regarding managing th eUSB ports. I changed mine and now BAM itunes sees my ipod and I am currently hotsyncing.....
Give it a try and good luck.

  • IPod not recognized in My Computer/iTunes/Updater

I'm sure this has been discussed elsewhere but I couldn't seem to find my exact problem. I have a 30GB Video iPod that has been working just fine. Plugged it in and transfered some new songs before I left on my trip. Took my Computer and iPod with me to FL. Got to Florida and plugged it in and my computer would no longer recognize my iPod. Wouldn't find it in My Computer/iTunes/Updater; it would however, find it if I go into the Device Manager and clicking on disks. I could also find it by going into computer management then click on Disk Management. One thing I did notice was that the iPod was not given a drive letter, so I gave it one; still wouldn't find it, restarted the computer and it still wouldn't find it. Not sure what's going on but when I plugged in my Camera to upload some pictures I took of our trip, it won't find my camera's disk either unless I go into either Device Manager/Computer Management(Disk Management). Can anyone help here? is this a USB power issue?

That is EXACTLY what my stupid computer is doing. I tried my iPod on my friends laptop & it worked fine but not on my PC someone please figure this out, I've tried everything i can think of, I even had new usb ports & card put in!
