TS1369 Nano 6th Gen cannot be recognised in itunes 11.1.5.5

Hi there,
My 6th gen Nano not recognised in itubes 11.1.5.5.
I've reinstalled, uninstalled, and installed.  Updated USB driver.  It has latest driver already.
I'm on Windows 8.  I've tried 3 different cables that work fine with my other ipod, and that's worked fine in the past with this nano.
Any advice?
Thanks

Then it's time to call Apple tech support while you are still under warranty.  Every iPod comes with complimentary, single-incident telephone technical support within 90 days of your iPod purchase.   If you also purchased AppleCare, then your warranty is extended for technical support and hardware coverage for two years from the original purchase date of your iPod.

  • IPod Nano 6th gen won't sync with iTunes 12.1.1.4

iPod Nano 6th gen won't sync with iTunes 12.1.1.4.
This iPod was synced with another iTunes library. I had to transfer iTunes library from another laptop.
Launch iTunes (12.1.1.4), plug in Nano, Nano display says connected, Nano appears in iTunes, but when I attempt to navigate to Nano nothing occurs, or if I am able to navigate to Nano then I can't go any further and select music to sync and the Nano comes out of connected state. I have had to close iTunes, sometimes reboot laptop, but nothing I do appears to make any difference. It won't allow me to continue music selection process and start the sync process. Is there a way to simply reset the Nano and reconnect to get it to sync? I don't care about content as it needs to be resynced with this iteration of iTunes because it is currently associated with the other iTunes library.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    What solved my problem:
I restored my iPod nano on my wife's PC, which had version 11 of iTunes. I was then able to sync it on my PC. Why didn't I restore it on my PC? See following details.
    Additional details:
I first took the iPod to the local Apple Store, where the only course of action they could offer was to restore the iPod. So they did. When I got home, it wouldn't even connect to iTunes on my PC, which was a regression from the day before. Out of desperation I plugged it into my wife's PC, and her older version of iTunes immediately told me the iPod had been formatted on a Mac and it needed to be restored on a PC to be usable by a Windows machine. Why my newer version of iTunes couldn't tell me that is a mystery.

  • IPod Nano 6th gen. won't sync to iTunes 11 on Windows 8?

Hi, I recently acquired a new Windows 8 laptop and after installing iTunes 11 I decided to sync my iPod Nano 6th gen. My iPod was last synced to iTunes 10.6 on Windows 7. When I synced the iPod to the new laptop I was receiving the problem of the WDF_VIOLATION which had something do to with Windows 8 and iTunes 11 being in compatible. I changed the compatibilty settings for Itunes to Windows 7 and the error has passed. The problem left standing is that my iPod will now not sync the library. After clicking"sync" either a very fast recognition happens or nothing at all will hapen and either way I'm left with the same music as I had on the previous iTunes. Is there a reason or anything I can do to change this? Thanks

You can only sync with one iTunes library. See the following for switching syncing computers.

  • Ipod Nano 6th gen not syncing mp3s after itunes 11.1.4.62 update

As the title says, after updating itunes to the 11.1.4.62 update, and everything that doing that successfully involved such as completely uninstalling all Apple software and then reinstalling itunes, my ipod nano 6th gen will not allow itunes to sync any mp3 files to it. The only way to get any new files onto it is to let the ipod convert them into AAC files when you transfer, even though all other music files on the ipod are, and have always been, mp3 files. Everything worked fine before the latest itunes update, I could sync mp3 files to the ipod nano with no problems.
Anyone know of a solution to this issue, or whether Apple are working on a solution for this obviously botched itunes update?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Artist information on my iPod Nano 6th Gen cannot be changed

    Hi,
apparently I made the mistake, that during my initial setup I had changed the Artist information for all my U2 Songs from "U2" to "U2, Green Day" when I only wanted to change it for a single song. Now I habe the problem that even though I did correct that problem (looks all great in itunes) this will not sync correctly with my 8GB iPod Nano (6th Generation).
I even reset the iPod, made sure all titles were erased, before doing a new sync - it just does not change.
Any ideas on how I can fix this? Everything else works fine.

A reset is different from a restore if you are speaking in terms of iPods.  If restoring the iPod to factory settings did not resolve the issue, it's likely a tagging issue with the tracks in iTunes from under the Get Info section.
You may want to take a minute or two to read this excellent guide from another forum member turingtest2 on tagging your tracks in iTunes.

  • IPod nano 6th gen won't synch with iTunes 12.1.1

Since I upgraded to iTunes 12.1.1.4 on my Windows 7 PC a couple of weeks ago, I have been unable to synch my iPod nano 6th generation (SW version 1.2) with iTunes. I have followed Apple's instructions to uninstall all of my Apple SW, restart my PC, then install iTunes again, restart my PC, then attempt to synch. I get the same failure I had before re-installing iTunes. My iPod connects with the PC and displays an icon on iTunes. I can select the iPod icon on iTunes and select the menu items under "Settings" and "On My Device", and all of the music and podcasts stored on my iPod are displayed. But when I select "Synch", I get the following two error messages:
    1. The iPod "Larry's iPod" cannot be synced because it cannot be found.
    2. The iPod "Larry's iPod" cannot be synced. The disk is not available.
I never had such problems with any prior version of iTunes during the several years I have owned my iPod. Help!
    Thank you.

Hi there, I have just bought my wife a new gen Nano 4gb. I also use a 30gb Video which is working fine. I am trying to get the Nano to be recognised by itunes. I have reinstalled the software again but no joy. Do I have to register the nano some way. Please help.

I'm cutting in on the post, sorry. I'm having the SAME issues, and it's for ALL THREE different computers in my home! Windows recognizes my Ipod nano 4gb but not Itunes.
I HAVE done ALL that was said to do in the article mentioned and still nothing. It's frozen or something. I plug in my Ipod and the screen "do not disconnect" NEVER GOES AWAY. I use the "safely remove hardware" and then it comes back "to life" but then I remove it. It still doesn't show in Itunes. HElp!!

  • My iPod nano 6th gen is not recognised by my computer or itunes, but still charges?

My laptop recently came back from repairs and  wiped everything off of it, so I have had to reinstall everything again. The only way I have got my music is on my ipod, so I cant lose any of the music stored on the ipod.
I have tried everything to connect it to my laptop, but it just wont connect.
I have followed all instructions from other people who have had the same problem, but nothing works. I have tried uninstalling itunes, where I delete everything and reinstall it. I have tried uninstalling all my usb ports and reinstalling them. I have tried to download apple usb driver, but it didn't work. I have reset my ipod many times - but nothing works! My computer just wont show my ipod, but it still charges it.

And you have a tried a different USB cable to verify that the current cable is not faulty or damaged? If so, that points to a hardware issue with the Nano, likely its dock connector port. Look for signs of damaged/bent/corroded pins or debris that could be blocking a proper connection.

  • TS1369 My iPod nano 7th gen is not recognised by iTunes in windows 8.1

When I plug, it reads a message (I translate from spanish): an iPod has been detected but it can't be read correctly. Unplug and plug and try again. If it perstists reinstal iTunes and try again. I've done all of that. I plugged the iPod when iTunes wasn't installed and it worked fine as an external disk. The iPod's screen shows that it is plugged until iTunes fails to recognise and then it shows the messsage when you explulse the iPod.
    Any help may be useful.

Hi there  - I've spoken with Apple and here is their response (worked for me). You need to uninstall not only iTunes, but also (in this order):
    1) iTunes
    2) Apple Software Update
    3) Apple Mobile Device Support
    4) Bonjour
    5) Apple Application Support
    Then you restart your computer.
Then you install the latest version of iTunes (which will reinstall all those things you uninstalled).
Then you restart your computer again.
Mine is working perfectly again now.
I hope it works for you,
    Carmen.
