TS1372 What do I do if Itunes can't find the ipod data?

I am trying to connect an Ipod to a computer but it can't find the data to the ipod and i tried everything I can think of can you please oh please help!!!!!!!!!

I was able to find an answer by looking at a reply to another user's question. The first step (described in my first posting) was to get Windows to recognize the "corrupted" iPod as a drive. This require me to make a change in the device manager for Windows. Here's the article: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301343 This fixed the first problem so that Windows started recognizing the iPod as an unidentified drive.
Next, I needed to reformat the drive. This is where the help from the other posting came in handy. I had to go into "My Computer" and select the iPod "drive". Then, I clicked on "File" and "Format". I deselected both quick format and enable compression and let Windows reformat the drive. After this, iTunes was able to recognize the drive the next time I opened the program. iTunes then prompted me to restore the drive to factory settings and it worked perfectly. I hope this will be helpful to someone else. Good luck!

  • Trying to restore, but iTunes can't find the iPod software

iTunes tells me my iPod is "corrupted" and needs to be re-set to factory settings. When I click the "Restore" button, I get an iTunes error box that says "There was a problem downloading the iPod software for the iPod "iPod". The requested resources was not found". I don't know what to do from here.
I've been through lots of different steps. First, my PC wouldn't even recognize the iPod. So, I changed the settings to get around the hub being automatically powered down. Now the computer recognizes the iPod and iTunes tries to connect to it, but says it has detected a corrupted iPod.
The iPod was working fine a few weeks ago, but when the iPod froze up, my son tried to re-set it and ended up erasing everyting. It has been stuck in this mode ever since then.
    Help!

  • ITunes can't find the original file?

I have my entire iTunes collection on my iPod and, supposedly on my laptop. Yet every time I click on a laptop song, I get a message telling me that ITunes can't find the original song, do I want to look for it? I then have to run "Search", wait for the song to appear, and click on it to add it to my usable library. Then, I get two listings for the same song, and if I eliminate one listing, I get the "can't find original" message again. I have just under 60 gig of music and I don't want to search and add thousands of songs when they are already in there somewhere. I appreciate greatly any one's expertise in helping me solve this frustrating problem. Thanks!

    Hi, Mike-D.
I'm assuming your music files are all in one centeral location - the iTunes Music folder or what have you.
There are a few basic strategies for dealing with your unfortunate situation:
    1) Telling iTunes where the lost songs are on a one by one basis.
    2) Moving the songs to where iTunes thinks they are. Unfortunately, there's no way to find out where that might be.
    3) Start with a new iTunes library. Regrettably, this method will lose your playlists and related information (Ratings, Play Counts, Dates Last Played, etc.).
If that's not a deal-breaker for you, delete the current entries in your Library by highlighting them - iTunes Edit menu > Select All - and then right-clicking > Delete . You remove the entries from your Library but keep the files themselves in your iTunes Music folder, again that's assuming that's where they are in the first place.
You can then add them back into your Library by selecting the iTunes Music folder in Windows Explorer and dragging it into the Library entry in the iTunes Source List (left-hand column).

Don't you just love changes in interfaces?
I found the answer to my question.
When you attach a device (iPhone, iPad) to your Mac, in iTunes 12 in appears as a tiny icon in the second "row" of the iTunes display. Click the icon and the familiar iTunes display for the device appears. From there, on the Summary screen, you can see the dates of the backups of the device (iCloud and backup to the computer). You can also use the button to backup to the computer.

  • Move all my music to another folder but Itunes can't find the files!

I have all my music on my desktop in small folders for each artist.
But now i don't have room anymore, because i have to much music.
So i want to move it all in to a folder called "Music". But when i do that
Itunes can't find the files, and i have to search for each file, to find the new location instead of the desktop. How do i move my music more easily? So i don't have to synchronize it all in again, with the right album covers and that..
    Please, need some help here!

You need to open your preferences file in iTunes and click on advance then select the location of where you put the folder.  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527

  • Where in itunes can I find the eject button for my new ipod nano?

Where in itunes can I find the eject button for my new ipod nano?

When in iTunes on the top R it should say your name and ipod and then there is a triangle pointing up with one or two lines underneath.  Just click on that and then it's ok to disconnect.

My Mac can't find the volume " Data" on Time Capsule, Also I can't find with the disk-utility program the hard disk in the Time Capusule.
So I can't format the disk in the Time Capsule
Deconnevt and then connecting the power tp the Time Capsule gives also no solution.
    What can I do?
    Joe

I listed the commands.. that is how you manually mount the disk.. follow exactly the commands I gave you.
In finder use top menu, go, connect to server.
    Type in the following.
AFP://TCname or AFP://TCIpaddress (obviously you replace with the actual name or the actual IP address).
    If that fails..
    try
    SMB://TCname
    Here is the screenshot.
tardis4 being the name of my TC.
It should then ask you for your credentials.
And it should remember them in the keychain and be able to then get TM to connect.

what do I do when I can not find the curser

The esc key will hide the cursor, hitting the esc key again will reveal it.
So try hitting the esc key and then move the mouse (or swipe the track pad). If there is no cursor visible anywhere, do the same thing again.
