TS1389 Authorize my computer prompts...

I keep getting prompts to authorize my computer.  When I DO authorize it, it tells me I already AM authorized, but still gives me the prompts and won't let me play the song.  A vicious cycle:)  Support was not much help - as the directions did not make sense/I could not locate any tabs they were directing me to.

I have several songs that I purchased. They show in my library, but won't play on any of my devices - including my computer. I keep getting the "authorize the computer" prompt. My computer is authorized! I have done all the troubleshoots that are available. How do I get my computer and other devices to be able to play these songs? Almost all  my songs play except for about 8 or 9.

If only some of the songs on an album are giving you the authorisation message, that suggests those song files are damaged.
If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

  • TS1277 I cannot find the "authorize this computer" prompt anywhere? Please help me

I cannot find the "authorise this computer" prompt anywhere? The instructions say to open itunes and go to "authorise this computer". I have icloud and an Iphone4. Everything i have downloaded to the imac, has shown up on the iphone. But recently i have bought some music on the iphone, and it will not show up on the imac. I dont get it? all the pics i take on the iphone show up on the imac.

That sounds like you are looking at the Mac App Store, not iTunes - in iTunes (you don't need to authorise your account in the Mac App Store, you don't download or play music, films etc from there) you should have similar to :

  • TS1389 Repeatedly prompts of authorize this computer but there is no solution for this & it still prompts authorize this computer. Please suggest me another solutions

    Hello Kuldip13,
It sounds like iTunes keeps asking you to authorize the computer. If you have already tried all the steps within the article you came from:
iTunes repeatedly prompts to authorize computer to play iTunes Store purchases
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1389
I would next check to see if the same Apple ID is signed into, that was used to play these purchases with this article:
Recovering a forgotten iTunes Store account name
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1920
    Open iTunes
Highlight one of the items you have purchased (You can find your purchases in your Purchases playlist).
    Choose File > Get Info.
    Click the Summary tab.
The Account Name area will list the account used to purchase the item. Unless you have changed accounts, this is your iTunes Store account name.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • TS1389 I am being prompted to authorize a computer so songs from  I tunes gets transferred where do I find the Administrator account file

I am being prompted to "Authorize athis computer" when syncing the I Phone or I pad on the desktop computer. Following the direction of going to Adminstraor
Account file so I can authorize the computer.

You are misreading. You're not being directed to some file, you're being directed to log into your Mac using a user account that has administrator privileges.
    Regards.

  • TS1389 iTunes prompts me to authorize my computer everytime I want to play something. Why is it doing this and how do I stop it?

Every time I go to iTunes and try to play something I have to reauthorize my computer. I should only have to authorize my computer one time. Why is this happening and how can I make it stop?

  • TS1389 I'm unable to authorize my computer and don't see any of the prompts they say will show up in my Store Menu

I'm unable to authorize my computer and don't see any of the prompts (i.e.Authorize this computer, etc.) that they say should appear under Store Menu.  Also songs aren't transerring to my ipod, which is why I deauthorized the computer, hoping to restore it, in the first place.

  • My computer is authorized to play purchases but for one of the songs I recently purchased I keep getting prompted to authorize the computer to play the song. How do I fix this?

I recently purchased a song on my iphone. When I synced my phone to my computer, I was prompted to authorize the computer to play the song, which I did. It did not compute and thus when I try to play the song in iTunes on my Macbook Pro, I keep getting prompted to authorize the computer. Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can fix it? I also cannot play the song now from my iPhone. I even tried re-downloading it from the iTunes store and that did not help.

That suggests the track is damaged.
If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one. See the following document for instructions:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

  • ITunes keeps prompting me to authorize my computer when I try to play a movie I rented.  Then it tells me my computer is already authorized and I'm stuck in a loop.  I've tried all the troubleshooting options but no luck.

iTunes keeps prompting me to authorize my computer then tells me it's already authorized and I'm stuck in a loop. The troubleshooting options haven't worked.  Any suggestions or does anybody have a phone number for iTunes so I can talk to a human being about this?

  • TS1389 how do you authorize this computer to play my songs

    Hello David,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!
From the article named iTunes Store: About authorization and deauthorization found here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1420.
To authorize a computer using your Apple ID
    Open iTunes
From the Store menu, choose Authorize This Computer. (In earlier versions of iTunes, access this option from the Advanced menu).
When prompted, enter your Apple ID and password, then click Authorize.

can't sync my ipad with itunes!i deleted "SC info"file and tried but it's not working!!it continously prompts me to authorize my computer!please help me out?

I'm having the same problem with my 4S. I have to constantly reboot my iMac or turn off my phone a few times to get it to sync. Before when I had 5.1.1 everything seemed to work just fine. I'm sure its a bug......
Both my ipads running 5.1.1 have zero issues syncing via wifi or directly plugged in.

  • Constantly Prompted to Authorize My Computer

I had to perform a recovery on my Windows XP computer this weekend. First problem is that I can not upgrade to the latest 7.6.2 version. Install ends quickly with a vague error requesting I try again later. I did manage to get 7.1 installed but now whenever I try to play any purchased music, it prompts me to authorize my PC. I have done that repeatedly and still get the prompts. None of my purchased music will play. From an article on the support page, I tried deleting the "SC Info" folder under All Users followed by a restart and relaunch but that did not help.
I only have 2 PC's authorized. I tried deauthorizing and then reauthorizing but it has not helped either. Any ideas?

I found a solution!!! I found an older version (7.3.2) on the iTunes website. It is made available for Windows 2000 users. I was able to successfully upgrade my 7.1.0 install up to 7.3.2. After that I was able to successfully authorize my computer and play my purchased music.
I have not tried to upgrade to the latest version (7.6.2) yet since I am somewhat reluctant. However, my advice to iTune junkies -- ARCHIVE past upgrade downloads on your computer. You'll never know when you may need them to create a successful recovery of your PC.
