Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) Home Sharing works, but not able to transfer files between PCs.
I have two laptops at home, one is an old one I keep dedicated to my Apple TV 2nd Gen. (so I don't have to have my laptop on, or my wife can use the ATV if I'm at work w/ my laptop, etc.)
Anyway, I sync all my media between both computers so when my laptop is not home, ATV still has full media function (as does my laptop). Used to be able to connect via Home Sharing and there was a drop-down menu with an option at the bottom of the Library to show only those files not in my library. I would use that function to transfer all recently added media to the ATV laptop. Since upgrading to iTunes 10, that dropdown menu is nowhere to be found. Any ideas?
I can still connect and play media through Home Sharing, but if my primary laptop leaves the range of the network, the new media content on it can't be accessed on ATV. Primary laptop is Windows 7, ATV-dedicated lap is on Windows XP.
Was the ability to transfer files through Home Sharing lost between iTunes 9 and 10 or did this feature just get moved somewhere else? If it was lost, how can I revert back to iTunes 9? If nothing else, I can just transfer via an external HD, but was just very convenient and easy through Home Sharing...

Bought today a iMac and not able to transfer files from old pc
Today we just bought a new i mac and I am having trouble with trying to transfer files etc from old pc. the imac is saying its looking for the pc but never finds it I did put the transer program on the old system and its saying its waiting to be contacted by the i mac. thanks in advance. Phil.

I purchased a whole CD from iTunes and can play all but 3 songs. I keep getting prompted to authorize my account to play these 3 songs. But when I enter my apple ID and password, I get a message that says my computer is already authorized. It keeps cycling around and won't let me play the 3 songs. Anyone else ever have this problem or find an answer?

If the problem persists, or that facility is not yet available in your region, contact the iTunes Store support staff through the "Report a problem" links in your account history, or via Contact Support.
You may also find it helpful while downloading to select Downloads in the left-hand column and make sure Allow Simultaneous Downloads is unticked.

Compressor opens but am not able to transfer files from FCP studio?
Help! I have tried installing FCP Studio (6.02) 2 to 3 times. I have tried removing Compressor from the Applications list under the library preferences.
When I open Final Cut and highlight the sequence and then send to to Compressor, I see the Compressor title open up at the top but my files do not appear. I don't know if its corrupt or if there is a reset to cause all the windows to appear. I am able to use the drop down list to make the inspector and other windows appear but cannot find my files.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

GolfhackerThat signals a problem with QMaster, which is most likely something you didn't remove prior to your reinstall. Apple published a document to help troubleshoot this problem, which has been linked to numerous times on this forum.

Every time I try to open a link, i see it very quickly the page and eventually Opens the ITunes music page and never direct me to the link I want, or sometime I try to search at Google and when i click to open the link I get the message that I can not open the link. Can anyone help me pleaseeeeee?
Have you tried resetting your device by pressing and holding the Home button and power button until the silver apple appears?

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the iPod and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. i am not able to transfer emails from outlook 2007 in Windows 8 to outlook 2011 in Mac. I export .pst file to my hard drive from win 8 and then import in outlook 11 in mac, the folders including subfolders are created but there are hardly one email. Please help

Sender File Adapter not able to get file via FTP from an external system
Hi,
I have a Sender File Adapter using FTP which polls a server every 10 seconds looking for a file ".xml". The adapter will connect and pick up the waiting file, but sometimes the adapter not able to get file via FTP from an external system. The file is on the server, but despite the polling, the adapter does not pick up it. There is no return error.
The connect mode is Permanently and the transfer mode is Binary.

does this case appears with a file size higher the others?
Personally, I do not recommend to have a polling under 1min.
10s could be too just, if the file is not small and/or if the file server is far (several kilometers) to where the Adapter Engine is, and/or this file server is beside a firewall. Do not forget also that, with previous points, you could have like a conflict, betwen the 1st polling and the 2nd polling, if in less 10s PI adapter has not enough time: to connect to the FTP server (several Km), find the file (perhaps among 100 other files in the directory), go back to the file to Adapter Engine server (several Km again), convert your file to XML message (with a complex Content Conversion), then check the XML structure, and when all that is done, return back to FTP server (several Km), to archive the source file... Well It's my understanding of a FTP exchange with FILE adapter...
If you really need a 10s polling, that's mean your have a pseudo real time interface. In that case, in my mind file should not be used! but we should use a Web service, JDBC JMS (any exchange without a physical object like a file). For me, it's a non-sens to have a file in that case.

To update in the initial requirement, I have added (prefixed, zeroes) in Document No., doing that, now the application is able to find the document, but not able to transfer the same from DMS Server to my local Machine, always giving the following error -

Please let me know, if some services needed to checked in SAP System or some more information to be provided in RFC.

I am not able to transfer anything from my Nokia phone to my iphone via bluetooth although it say's connected on the iphone when I try to send it say's UNABLE TO CONNECT on the Nokia, I have restarted the phone but still no luck. any suggestions?
Two different operating systems.
It has nothing to do with the phones running different operating systems. Bluetooth is a platform independent standard. It's all due to the different Bluetooth profiles each device incorporates. iPhones do not have the file transfer profile.
