  • Purchased Several Songs ~ But iTunes Store "Unavailable"

Used iTunes yesterday evening (the 11th) to purchase several tracks by Marianne Faithful.
iTunes accepted the order (Said Starting Downloading etc.) then popped up a notice (But not an 'Error' warning) stating iTunes Store Unavailable - try later.
I did the 'Check For Purchases' routine, but it said "Checking for purchases", but then popped up a message stating iTunes Unable To Check for purchases"
I received an email about half an hour later informing me that I had purchased these titles and charged me.
I even tried getting the 'free single of the week' but same thing happens, accepts order, fails to download, pops up same messages as above, and also sends me an email saying I have purchased it.
If I use the 'View My Account' feature in itunes, it does indeed show these purchases, but i cannot get them!
I can download free tracks from the iTunes universities section ( some interesting Japanese culture related at MIT) with no trouble at all.
Anybody got any suggestions, or have they found iTunes Store unavailable to day September 11th /12th
I am using the UK store by the way.
    Thanks

Its is now over 24 hours now, and still the same problem. I have made sure that I have checked all the settings are correct as mentioned in the iTunes store help pages relating to the problem of being unable to download purchased items, including my Keychain, and Permissions for the iTunes folder etc. etc, and still no joy. This problem has only occurred since iTunes was upgraded on the 9th September to version 7.4.1 (2)
What really rubs salt in to the wound is the fact that I have received emails from iTunes confirming the purchase of these tracks, and the amount I have been charged, and also I can access all of my account details in iTunes showing the purchases. So if I can access this information, why cannot ITunes check and download my purchases?
I am becoming very fed up with Apple lately, this is just another example of their becoming so big, they cannot deal with problems, everything is now devoted to the new wonder toy the iPhone, whereas the poor suckers like me, who have been faithful for years buying their computers, are now put on the back burner, if you dont believe me, look at the name change from Apple Computers to Apple Inc.
For example, not one of my apple purchases has been recognised for the so called 'Complete my Album' or the 'iTunes Plus' even though they both qualify according to the terms and conditions. . When I asked apple about this, they said they wanted proof of receipts for all purchases including dates. ~ Yet they have it all in my account records.
Dont get me wrong I love Apple computers and other hardware, the iPods have been brilliant for me, but their support is now quite poor, and they are uninterested in the user's experience of support, which is not how it used to be.
Steve Jobs bounds on to the stage at each of the shows launches full of praise for his own new products, but he never says that they are investing in better support teams,
I hate to say it, but I am becoming very disillusioned with Apple.

  • ITunes Store unavailable when using Ping - an observation

When trying to edit my Ping profile I've been encountering an iTunes Store unavailable message as have other I see on these discussion list. I thought it might be related to having recently updated my iMac iTunes to 10.1. However, the same is happening on my MacBook running iTunes 10.0.1 Both have updated to OSX version 10.6.5

  • Is the itunes store unavailable

is the itunes store unavailable at the moment in the UK?

I'm in the UK and the store appears to be ok on my computer's iTunes - I can browse the store and I've just redownloaded an app.
Depending upon the problem that you are having, have you tried logging out and back into your account on the computer/device that you are using, and/or disconnecting/reconnecting to your network ?

  • ITunes showing available downloads but saying iTunes Store unavailable.

When I attempt to download a recently purchased movie in iTunes, I get a message saying "Unable to check for available downloads. The iTunes Store is temporarily unavailable.  Please try again later."  It has been stating this since I purchased the movie almost 2 weeks ago.  I can stream the movie onto my AppleTV using the purchased list, but I cannot download the movie to my iPad or iTunes on my PC.  I have reinstalled iTunes, signed in and out of iTunes, deauthorized and reauthorized my compuiter with my AppleID, verified by billing settings and restarted my PC all not resolving the issue.  I find it curious why it tells me I have 5 downloads available yet the error is that it cant check for available downloads.  I would appreciate any support you could provide for this issue.  Thanks!

I have the same problem with the '6 iTunes Downloads Available' but was never able to solve it witht the iTunes support, nor the Apple Store Genius bar.  I went through 3 people with the iTunes Online support and in the end they couldn't figure out why my computers (macbook pro 1" and brand new mac mini) iTunes wouldn't download the available downloads.  They are 6 ringtones that I purchased and downloaded successfully on an iphone 4.  Then I took my iphone 4 into the Apple Store and they replaced it and I hadn't synced it to my computer so I lost them.  Then I emailed support and they sent the 6 ringtones to my iTunes account and my computers, iphones and ipads couldn't download them.  In the end they ended up crediting my account with 10 song credits that I could use because they couldn't solve the problem after 6 months.  So now there they sit evertime I'm in iTunes '6 iTunes Downloads Available'.  Sorry I don't have the answer I've tried everything on my own, even erasing my phones and computer then reinstalling everything.

  • IBooks Apple ID Crash / iTunes Store "unavailable"

    Hi,
A couple of issues here, and I'm not sure if they're both related - they both seem to do with the iTunes store.
    1) When I try to access my account or make a purchase in iTunes via my iMac, I get a message telling me that, "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. the iTunes Store is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later." I attempted to log out and log back in, but still get that same message.
    2) When I try to add my Apple Id to iBooks, the program just seems to hang. The "wheel" turns as if it's trying to login, but nothing happens. It seems that it was attached at some point (before an automatic update) as older purchases are synced and I can open and "read" the books
I've checked my system preferences under iCloud, and it appears to be set up correctly (mail, address books, calendar all sync), and I don't have a problem making purchases on either my iPhone 5 or iPad 2 - only on my iMac. Here are the system specs:
    iMac:
    OSx 10.9
    3.2 GHz Inetel Core i3
    iTunes
    11.1.3 (8)
    iBooks
    1.0.1 (281)
Thanks for any help / suggestions -

    Hey Sean!
It seems like these issues could be related. Let’s troubleshoot the iTunes Store issue and see if the other issue resolves itself after resolving the iTunes Store issue:

  • Purchased show says itunes store unavailable

I can watch all purchased shows on my Apple TV(I have multiple) and on ALL my Apple TV's i get the same error trying to watch ANY BattleStar Galactica show.
I was able to see shows marked as favorite, but nothing else. As soon as I choose that program under the list of purchased shows, I get an error stating the itunes store is currently unavailable. Try again later.
I rebooted the Apple TV to no avail and tried my other Apple TV, same issue.
    help!
I can download them via my Macbook on Itunes with no issue.

I have had this problem for weeks now.  And not with every show, but at least with the following.  Battlestar Galactica, Smallville and Faceoff.  The ONLY work around for me is adding these shows to my favorite.
The steps I took in trying to resolve this are?
    Restarted Apple TV (no result)
    Reset (no result)
    Rebooted Router (no result)
    Reset to factory (no result).
I tried on several different days and several different ways and I have TWO apple tv and its that way on both devices so I know its not the device.  It is an issue with the iTunes store.
Only thing I can think of that make sense to me is maybe I have too much stuff in the cloud, but then again, I have absolutely no problem with movies or music.

  • "Check for available download" "itunes store unavailable"

Every time I click on "Check For Available Downloads" A window pops up telling me to check back later because iTunes store is temporarily unavailable. Though I can go in and buy stuff off iTunes still but I can't download it. My connections and everything are fine and I have run all my diagnostics and they've passed. This has been happening for months and nothing has worked. This isn't only happening on my Mac but also on my PC's.

I know exactly what happened. You had an old download in your queue that wasn't fully downloaded that became unavailable. This same thing happened to me (no problem if i let things fully download in one sitting--just couldn't check for available downloads) and the apple techs could give me no answers for a very long time. Finally, one tech went in and analyzed all my purchased items and found I had some freebie tv show in my queue that I'd never allowed to fully download. It was no longer available and was causing an error. The program was removed from my queue and everything I'd lost for weeks immediately started downloading from the point I'd lost it. Write to iTunes help and SPECIFICALLY ASK them to check this, explaining that you've done everything else possible to try to fix it.

  • ITunes Store unavailable?

Whenever I try to download a song from my mac to my iPod, it says the iTunes store is unavailable...?

Connecting to the internet or email isn't the same as connecting to The iTunes Store. You have to make sure you aren't blocking the ports needed for iTunes. These article should help:

  • Apple TV does not give acces to ITunes Store

For the last week at least I have had problems accessing ITunes store from my Apple TV.
I have updated the software, I have restarted my Apple Router I have access to Youtube - and I can enter via categories in movies and TV shows and where I can rent & Buy, I just cant get into the main pages - and popular movies.... WHY???

    Updating my question:
I have now completed a Factory Restore, and a software update and still get the Message iTunes Store unavailable......,
Except that I have found that If I go to Genres in either Films or Music it all appears to work OK, it is only when I try to access Top Films or Top Music that the store is unavailable.
    WHY???

  • Only syncs in one direction and can't connect to iTunes Store

I'm having a few problems with my AppleTV:
My AppleTV only syncs from AppleTV back to my Powerbook; content doesn't get uploaded to ATV. Has worked previously for a couple of years without incident.
Attempting to fix wiped out all content from ATV; now no syncing occurs at all; iTunes does see ATV and "syncing" starts, but just seems to hang. Can stream to ATV though; so iTunes does see the ATV but no syncing. Since I lost all content on ATV decided to do a factory reset but it didn't help.
Have also tried syncing with ethernet cable, but was getting Port 3689 problems even though I wasn't using wireless and was only trying to transfer content via ethernet cable from Mac to ATV.
Now ATV won't see the iTunes store " iTunes Store unavailable try again later" message although I can view YouTube videos on ATV, so I know the internet connection is working. But I can access iTunes store from my computer directly; so I know that iTunes Store is working!
I think the ATV is great but it has caused me a lot of grief the past 2 days!
    Thank you!
    Matt

So one problem is solved..although I did a factory reset today (as a last resort), I neglected to do a software update to bring the ATV up-to-date. Once I did that, i can at least see the iTunes store from the ATV.
Syncing is still a problem, since I have no content on the ATV, since the factory reset, I don't know if it still will only sync one way (from ATV to computer). But it says its syncing now..although the capacity meter in iTunes is still showing up with nothing on it.
    Matt
