TS1389 my computer is autorized and I can play all my songs except for one that tell me I need to autorize my computer?

Ive tried all the trouble shooting options the site has told me to do, gone into user controls ect. But this one song it wont let me play. Please help

If the tracks were not in your iTunes library on your computer when you subscribed to match, I am afraid that they are lost. Do you have a separate back up of this music?

1) If you have OD set up and "editor" has UID 1111, then when they log in to any machine that's bound to OD as editor, they will get UID 1111. Therefore, there won't be any of these permission errors. This is typically the recommended approach.
2) I assume you mean "You'd prefer to not using open directory?" Whatever the case, OD isn't mandatory with Xsan -- it's just that with multiple user accounts, managing them centrally tends to be easier. For 3 or 4 accounts and 3 or 4 machines maybe it's no big deal. If you go larger, it could get a lot more complicated. That said, if you set it up such that each machine has the exact same set of users (as you said, Mary = UID 502, Fred = UID 503, William = UID 504), then you can do what you want. Mary can log in from multiple machines at the same time, and in general you won't have permissions problems. Of course, if you try and read and write the same file from multiple workstations at the same time, you will get file locking issues, which will prohibit somebody from successfully writing the file.
File locking issues are different from general permissions errors. The former basically says "hey, someone else is editing this file. Therefore I won't let you edit it right now... you can read it if you want though." Permissions means somebody saves it, and Xsan thinks you saved it and own the file, when you really don't.

Can I buy an album except for one song?

Sometimes I buy songs from Amazon mp3 just because it's cheaper and then download them onto iTunes. I fell in love Imagine Dragons and bought their song Bleeding Out from Amazon and bought Radioactive from iTunes. The thing is, I want to buy the album from iTunes but I already bought one of the songs from Amazon so I will have 2 of the same songs. I know they won't charge me for Radioactive but since they don't know I already have Bleeding Out what can I do? I want to buy the whole album except for Bleeding Out.

Of course you can. Just click "Buy" for the songs you want.
Or if it is cheaper, buy the whole album and delete the song(s) that you don't want.
By the way, the full album "Night Visions" is $7.99 at iTunes but is $4.99 at Amazon MP3. (Those are in the USA stores.) So I think you can find a cost-effective solution!

Copy a dir & all children subdirs EXCEPT for one dir (and all its subdirs)

Is there a tool for SOLARIS 10 that will allow you to copy /u01 and all its children folders but exclude a specific child dir and its children?
For example, I would like to copy the entire directory structure under /u01 EXCEPT for /u01/text and all its subdirectories. This would EXCLUDE /u01/text, /u01/text/output, /u01/text/output/archive, but COPY /u01/fonts/ and /u01/doc and /u01/doc/pdfs/.
I checked the man for rcp and scp and found no such option.

except rsync isnt installed by default so you would need to grab it from sunfreeware or blastwave.
gnu tar (/usr/sfw/bin/gtar) can also exclude files.
So you can copy by taring and untaring.

Using iPhone, iPad, or iPod with multiple computers
However, you can make this computer the syncing computer by:
- Transering iTunes purchases to the computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
- Transfer other music by using a third-party program like one of those discussed here:
Copy music
- For synced photos you need a program like TouchCopy or PhoneView. The do music too.
- After everything is on the computer connect the iPod to the computer and make a backupo by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
- Restore the iPod from that backup
Note that the backup that iTunes makes does not include synced media like apps, music, synced photos.

Sorry meffie, you cannot transfer purchases from one Apple ID to another. Are the songs under the old ID all purchased via iTunes?
If so, then sign onto the iTunes on the computer with your old ID and Authorize the computer for that Apple ID: Store on the top menu, then click on Authorize This Computer.
Once it is Authorized, you can then go to the iTunes Store and under Quick Links on the right-hand side, click on Purchased. Then click on Music, Songs, Not In this Library, and you should be able to see all of your purchased music, which you can download to your iTunes library individually by clicking on the cloud next to the song, or you can click on Download All at the bottom of the screen to download all of the tunes.

You may need to put the iPad into recovery mode : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808 - you should then be able to reset the iPad and restore/resync your content to it.
If you do it via a different computer that it's not normally synced to then (from here) :
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.

One possible reason is have you synced to your computer's iTunes recently ? If so then it might have replaced the books that were on your iPad with those that are on your computer's iTunes library.
You should be able to re-download them via the Purchased tab in the ibookstore in the iBooks app, or via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes and then sync them back to the iPad : re-downloading. If you re-download them directly on your iPad then you may want to copy them to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases, so that you have a backup copy of them and to see if it stops them disappearing from the iPad again when you sync (assuming that was the reason why they disappeard).

Just wondering, what context is this in?
First up, is your iTunes account part of an iCloud account?
Secondly, if it's a free app, why don't they just download it? If they are having trouble finding it on the App Store, but you can find it easily, you can share the link for it via email with them, and if they view that email on their iPod they can just tap the link and it will open the App Store to that App for them, so they can download it themselves.
If you were to go to the Store settings pane and sign in with your iTunes account, that should only provide the possibility for download items from your iTunes account, such as purchased apps, music and movies. However, if you signed in, downloaded the app, and then went back and signed out of the account again, there shouldn't be any access apart from the app you downloaded. This is provided you sign in using the Store section of the Settings app, not the iCloud section.
One problem they will have if you download this in your account instead of theirs, in order to download updates for that app, they will need you to enter your iTunes password to download the updates. Doing that doesn't give them access to anythign to do with your account other than that update, but they will be unable to receive updates for it without your password. They would also likely be unable to sync the app onto their computer, as their computer would not be Authorised with your iTunes account.
If you can answer some of the questions I've asked, I may be able to suggest alternate ways for you get them the app on their device.
