        I'm sorry to learn that your phone is having problems starting up, marinema08. I'm sorry if this is incorrect, but are you using the original HTC Droid Incredible or a later Droid Incredible model? Please try placing your phone in Safe Mode to see if you are able to move past the Droid eye. http://vz.to/1kdQWVI If you are able to enable Safe Mode, please try deleting any recent applications you have added.

    Click on the App Store, click on purchased, it should be there and you can download it again.

    Try reset iPad
    Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears

    I uninstalled the twitter app an when reinstalling it kept saying installing so I turned off my phone then it took it a minute to turn back on and so when it came in I exed out the installing app and so then when I went to reinstall it said it was installed and in the App Store it says open but I can't open it so it won't let me reinstall and it says its installed when its not please help

    I had the same issue whilst trying to reinstall Facebook. Facebook hung on installing so I did a hard reset of the phone and got the Apple symbol which wouldn't go away. I did another hard reset which resolved the problem.
    To do a hard reset hold down both the on/off and home buttons simultaneously. When the Apple logo appears release both buttons. Phone should eventually restart.

    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
    How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

    You know, I was thinking if I went ahead and just created a new account, then shipped all my Home folder under the new account and used chown to fix the ownership details, then most likely the problems of my current account would be transferred to the new one.
    How about skipping all .plist files and other preferences? What if I only transferred my actual work documents from all software that I use, plus emails and what have you? Would that tend to minimize the chances of problems re-manifesting themselves in the new environment?

  • Moved the iPhoto app and now it's hosed

    I recently went through my Applications folder and decided that I would clean it up by moving some apps into folders. I started with CS3, and all those applications got hosed afterwards, but were fine once I took them out of the newly created folder. However, I did the same thing wiht the iLife apps, and now my iPhoto is hosed. Before I took it out of it's newly created folder, iPhoto would freeze at the window asking me if I wanted to use iPhoto when I connect a digital camera. Then when I moved iPhoto back to the Apps folder itself, it now beachballs when loading my library. I've tried trashing my prefs and even replacing them from a backup. I have a full backup from about a week ago, but I'm not sure what I would replace to get iPhoto back to living.
    Any ideas?

    Try deleting the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, from your User/Library/Preferences folder.

    TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
    I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
