TS1398 Accessing wifi with a password

I am visiting parents and trying to access their wifi.  Both my iPad and iPhone recognize the  network, however when I put in the password, it is like it is one digit too short.  I am not able to press the join button until a space or other digit is added.  Number of digits in the password is 7.  Has anyone else experienced this??

I have this problem too when I am using wifi in cafes and public areas.
We all know that it's 'best to use...' but when we need to connect to a wifi network that doesn't do this what can we do?

  • Is anyone having problems accessing WIFI with their iPhone

Just noticed that yesterday I can't access WIFI with my iPhone 5s.  Happened at my office and at home.  WIFI works both places as Macbook works.  Anyone else finding this ?

I don't wnat you to have any issues with your device, tracybayne! Let's get to work to make sure we get you up and running. Have you been able to try to reset the network settings in your phone? The best way to do that is to go into Settings, General, Reset, Reset Network Settings. The phone will power cycle and then you will need to re-type in all the wi-fi passwords again. Once that is done, please re-test it out. Keep us posted.

  • Is there any way to send some one a password protected pdf that only they can access/view with a password?

Is there any way to send some one a password protected pdf that only they can access/view with a password?
    Thanks!

    Hi wonderingtoday,
Yes, you can! If you have Acrobat, you can assign an "Open Password" to the PDF, so that only people who have that password can open the PDF. If you don't have Acrobat, you can try it for free for 30 days. For more information, see www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html.

  • TS1398 I am trying to connect an IPod Touch to a Verizon MiFi at home.  I have connected a computer, Nooks, and a tablet to this WiFi with a password and the IPod says it is unable to join.  Help!

I am trying to connect an IPod Touch to my Verizon MiFi Hotspot.  It has a password.  I have set up a computer, a tablet, and 2 nooks to this MiFi but can't get the IPod to connect to any network that has a password. Please help!

There are other things to try.
Turn WiFi off on the iPad, restart it and then turn WiFi on again.
Reset the network settings on the iPad. Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings, that makes you have to start all over again.

  • Remving EDGE and connecting to WIFI with a password

After I downloaded an update on my first generation IPhone, I have only been able to access the WIFI that doesn't need a password but not password protected ones. I used to be able to access any WIFI as long as I had the password. I also notice that I get E (Edge) on the screen now and I didn't use to get that. I tried removing EDGE but on network settings I don't see an area for cellular data or APN as suggested on several support forums. Please help.

Well first off, welcome to the Mac family!
Let's start with your AEBSn. To determine both the Radio Mode and Wireless Security settings, you will need to use the AirPort Utility. You will find this utility in the /Applications/Utilities folder in the Finder (the Finder is similar to Windows Explorer).
Double-click on the AirPort Utility to run it, and once it is open, select your AEBSn, and then, select Manual Setup > AirPort > Wireless tab
Here's a screenshot and I have pointed out the two settings. Please let me know what yours are set for.

Just for the record, and I dont think its going off-topic on this thread, McAfee seems ok on my newish laptop on Windows 7 ATM.
The desktop, and older PC running XP seems to have a new lease of life after installing MSE. Faster boot up; much less resources in use etc, all the points that Potters and others have mentioned on the forum about MSE. Running Malware, Super Anti Spyware in conjunction with it.
Exactly my experience. I've said before that McAfee was tolerable on my reasonably powerful laptop, but it absolutely throttled the (upgraded) netbook rendering it unusable for up to 10 mins after boot and when it scanned. I was so impressed with the change that MSE brought to the netbook that I went for it on both computers and have not regretted it for a moment.

  • When access WiFi home with new iphone6 plus, this WiFi stops

I upgraded into iPhone 6 plus.
When I access WiFi home with new iphone, this WiFi stops.
(Macbook pro worked with this WiFi.)
Then I reset the modem and router.
    WiFi recovers.
But when I access WiFi with new iphone again, WiFi stops.

    Hi JeremyDesign,
Start with the article below to troubleshoot issues with Wi-Fi on your iPhone 6 plus. To do that, start with forgetting the network by going to Settings > Wi-Fi, tap the info button to look at the settings and you will see the option to forget it. Join the network again and test it.

  • Access WiFi on Q10

I resolved the problem to access WiFi with Q10.
The problem is SSID. My SSID has some blanks and Korean language. However it is strange to me because I don't have any problem with 9900.
Why Q10 is behind 9900? I think that it is necessary for Q10 to be improved.

    Hey kionabird,
Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like you are having an issue with Wi-Fi on the iPad. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you resolve or isolate the issue.
iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    Restart your iOS device.
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and locate the Wi-Fi network to which you're connected.
    Tap  and Forget this Network.
Try to connect to your desired Wi-Fi network. Note: You may need to enter your Wi-Fi password again if your network requires one.
Turn your Wi-Fi router off and on2. If your ISP also provides cable or phone service, check with them before attempting this step to avoid interruption of service.
Update your device to the latest version of software.
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Have a nice day,

  • Authentication with hashed password

    Hi,
the user passwords in my iPlanet 5.1 are stored by using SHA. I authenticate a user from a JBoss AppServer by using an LDAPLoginModule which works fine.
Now I want to secure this access by no longer sending the clear text password over the network. Instead I configured my JBoss-LoginModule to hash the password by using "SHA-1" before accessing the LDAP server. But now the authentication fails.
ERROR [LdapLoginModule] Failed to validate password
javax.naming.AuthenticationException: [LDAP: error code 49 - Invalid Credentials
Do I have to configure something in the iPlanet before I can access it with a password that is already hashed?
Does iPlanet recognize that the sent password is already hashed? Maybe it tries to hash the password again before checking?

As far as my experience with this has gone, the simple answer is no. You'll have to enter it in cleartext.
The most used methodology is to create some kind of standard password to send for each new account, and make it mandatory to change it as soon as the user logs on for the first time. I don't know any other way to do this.

  • HT5934 IPad 2 cannot access wifi, even with the correct password.

My iPad 2 does not accept the password it should when trying to access the wifi access available at my employer. Once my employer removed his password protection from his wifi router, my iPad accepted the wifi. An iPhone  accepted the  same password today... It hesitated a bit longer than we expected, however, it did access the wifi router. We've tried multiple times, my employer uses Macs, and he's tried accessing his wifi with my iPad... He's even changed the name on his wifi, checked all settings, crosschecked that the password is a valid password, still, my iPad gives me an error "incorrect password ".  It only makes sense if we were using an incorrect password, but we weren't! Help!
