TS1398 Bluetooth issue - not discovering my iPad

My iPhone 4S Bluetooth stopped discovering my iPad or any other Bluetooth device for that matter.
It is basically permanently stuck on searching
Can anyone suggest how I can fix this please?

Oh... Thanks
Funny I thought you need to have the Bluetooth paired before you can use the iPhone wifi but apparently that is incorrect.
Thanks for your help, this worked.

  • Bluetooth issues - cannot 'discover' other apple products!

Im not sure if this is an issue or if Im doing something wrong because I cant find any info online about other ppl facing the same problem.
Basically, when I switch the Bluetooth ON, my iphone and my ipad both cannot find each other or my MacBook Pro! Both iPhone and iPad do discover quickly 2 PC's while at the office, which means that bluetooth itself is working fine.
When I look for devices using my PC, I can discover all the devices around me easily.
Even my blackberry can find my iphone and ipad but neither can find it.
    Help!

All Apple iDevices (and some BT cellulars too), exclude the ability to sync on wireless remote from connecting audio or WiFi/BT iTunes/ActiveSync data transfer. You can only add a _BT headset_ or _BT keyboard_ as long as they are not in use by another console (MacBook, iPad, iPhone, etc).
iPhone can connect to the MacBook via _iOS4 Bluetooth/USB Tethering_ after you visit your Carrier account management and signup for tethering. It can not be used iPad to iPhone. This is excluded from iDevice to iDevice tethering.

  • Apple Bluetooth Keyboard not 'discovered.'

I just bought a new Apple Bluetooth Keyboard and a D-Link DBT-120 USB Bluetooth Adaptor.
Though System Preferences (10.3.9) shows Bluetooth and the Bluetooth icon appears in the menu bar... the keyboard refuses to be 'discovered.' I have tried numerous USB ports (both directly on my box and a USB 1.1/2.0 card installed) and have flipped the keyboard on/off switch back-and-forth for each USB port I've tried. Still the keyboard is not 'discovered.'
This is on a G3 B/W with numerous upgrades. Otherwise this box has been superb since I bought it right after it was originally released.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hey there GreggRocky,
It sounds like your bluetooth keyboard profile is setup in your Bluetooth preferences but is not pairing up like it is supposed to. I want to recommend removing the device from your bluetooth preferences and setting it back up.
    1. Choose Apple menu -> System Preferences.
    2. Click Bluetooth.
    3. Click Devices.
    4. Select the device you want to delete from the Bluetooth Devices listing.
    5. Click the Delete Pairing button.
    6. Click Delete or "Disconnect and Delete".

  • Bluetooth dongle not discovering headset

My Kensington 33348 Bluetooth adapter is not discovering my new Plantronics Bluetooth headset on my Mac Pro. Headset is brand new and works fine with my phone. All you have to do to make it discoverable is literally turn it on. The 33348 dongle seems to be working with the Mac just fine too but when I try to use the discover function on the Mac It doesn't pick up the headset. I'm getting no headset icon and I don't get beyond that to enter any passkey. Any help here would be great thanks!

I contacted Kensington and the headset is not for use with computers. I thought bluetooth was a universal thing but it's the audio that is not.

  • Ipad Bluetooth does not discover anything.

My iPad discovers three devices, including a Logitech keyboard. My wife's very new iPad's Bluetooth discovers nothing when in the same room and same proximity to those devices.
Is there some setting on her device we have overlooked that is preventing Bluetooth from working? Yes, bluetooth has been turned on and off.  Other devices (smart phones) also can detect the devices.  Only her iPad discovers nothing.  Anything else we should do or check?

Tried that. Turned Bluetooth off on my ipad. Followed manufacturer's directions for keyboard device to make it available to another iPad.  Nothing on her iPad was discovered.  But my HTC DNA phone did detect the keyboard device while the iPad still detected nothing.  The keyboard device also works on two other iPads.
So we have clearly ruled out the device not being in discoverable mode. There is some issue with her iPad.

  • Yoga Tablet 10 HD - Bluetooth issues - Not pairing

My brand new tablet is not pairing to any of my bluetooth devices. The tablet is not even identifying any of them - they do not appear in the screen. For instance I have a keyboard I used to use with another tablet and a speaker that works pretty well with my cell phone.
I look for a proper solution but didn't find in any site.
    Best,

This may not work for you, but it did for me. Just got mine as well, 10 HD+, and I had no working bluetooth. It would just keep searching and would stop after about 15 seconds. I had to do two restarts to fix my problem.
I think all of those updates I had to do the moment I took it out of the box (3 if i remember) cause the issue. Again, it took TWO restarts, on the second restart when I tried the bluetooth it worked.
After that I could connect to Bluetooth devices (tried on two diff. speakers) and I could recognize and stream music accordingly.
    Hope this helps!

My iPhone 4S bluetooth is not discovering bluetooth devices, specifically my new Platronics Voyager Pro HD headset which worked just fine with the iPhone 4 even after the recent software upgrade.  I noticed that others are having bluetooth discovery issues as well.  Will Apple be addressing this problem with a software fix or is this a hardware problem?

Used to work.  Now it doesn't connect.  Have reset both iPAD and Bose..Also have depressed the BT button to activate...no work

    1. Hold Bluetooth button down for 3 seconds so that iPad can "see" the Soundlink (bluetooth light should fade in and out every second)
    2. Make sure it's within range
    3. Keep speaker away from router, cordless phone or microwave oven
    4. Keep it away from other Bluetooth device
    5. Make sure it's not muted
    6. Turn it off and on again
    7. Make sure volume is turned up

  • Keynote remote will not pair with ipad after update to 10.7.2-bluetooth issue or remote app issue?

Noticed keynote remote will not pair after updating.  Bluetooth light flashes a couple of times then goes off.  I'm wondering if it's a bluetooth issue or a keynote remote app issue.
    Any suggestions or remedies?
    thanks

    Then again, it may not.
I've tried all the things recommended in the Apple KB article, and it doesn't work.  Mulderscully is right, in the recent iOS 5 upgrade, Bluetooth is not turned on (at least, its symbol is not visible) from within Keynote even if you turned it on in the Settings menu.  Posts in another thread recommended using another app to establish a Bluetooth connection between the iPad and iPod (I used Touch Rummy), then switching back to Keynote and Keynote Remote.  This does work for me, but it is an awkward workaround.  Shouldn't 'It just work'?
