TS1398 I am unable to connect iPhones to our home wifi. Other devices work fine.
Recently, I was having issues with our D-Link Dir-665. I did a factory reset to it on the routers settings (ie. 192.168.0.1). I was able to succsessfully connect my laptop, as well as our Kindle Fire HD. However, when trying to connect our iPhones (4 & 4s), it does not even see the SSID. So, we tried setting it up under "other network" and it says "Could not find network". After searching some other forums we also ended up reseting the network settings, hard resets and syncing the devices as well. All to no avail. . The router gives the option to add the device but requires a PIN from the devices (not really sure if this will even help)...
When I reset the router I am sure it probably reset things like the WPA and channels etc. I am pretty lost at this point. Help
Thanks
I was able to do a full reset on the router (pushing the tiny button near the power input). Then ran through the setup process and it started working on my device.

My macbook air is not getting internet connection through our home wifi. It was working fine yesterday until I took the Air out of the house and used it on another wifi connection. One question is how to delete some of the networks that I don't use. Would too many networks cause the internet connection to fail?
Thanks.Would too many networks cause the internet connection to fail?
It shouldn't but sometimes deleting the list of networks actually does solve the problem you are describing. Have you turned WiFi off and then back on on the computer? -
Help! MacBook won't connect to the Internet on my network. Never had an issue on other networks, other devices work fine, i.e. iPhone/iPad. Says it's connected. Plugged in Ethernet and tried other browser. Called ISP and all good on their end.
You can't change it - just try aagain.

When try to connect my iPod touch 4th gen to my house Wifi it won't connect, it used to work fine but now it dosen't work, but it does say that the internet is available, but when I tap on it it just loads. all other devices work fine.
Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tend to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

My MacBook Pro won't connect to the Internet via wifi but it worked fine on ethernet cord...I tried running diagnostic but it didn't work:(((( it happen every time if I restart the modem and/or router.. Any idea how to fix this?
Hello Rattisate,
Sorry to hear you are not able to connect to Wi-Fi on your MacBook Pro. I would be concerned about this too. You can find information on how to troubleshoot this in the following article:
Troubleshooting Wi-Fi issues in OS X Lion and Mac OS X v10.6
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4628
Follow the steps in the section labeled, "Symptom: My Mac does not connect to the Internet."
Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities.

I have a 4th generation iPod touch which was working perfectly until I downloaded ios5 and now it won't connect to my wi-fi - all other devices working correctly. My pc didn't create a backup before updating software so I can't revert back to ios 4.3.5 from there, where can I download ios 4.3.5 from?
I tried just about everything and finally brought my Ipod touch to the apple store. The tech installed ios 4.3.5 but still no WIFI. He recommended a $149 exchange - not really a bad deal with a new battery and 90 day warranty, but I thought I'd try again.
The "solution" was bizarre. On YouTube was a fix involving taking the motherboard out and heating the wifi components with a heat gun.
I did not like that idea, but another involved turning it off, putting it in the freezer for five minutes and restarting. It worked! I must admit the fix does not work reliably, so I may still go for the exchange. Still, I am now convinced that it is a hardware problem. i remember back in the old days, TV repairmen sprayed a suspected bad resistor with Freon. The chilled component would work long enough to identify what needed replacement. Perhaps something similar is happening here.
For anyone wanting to try this, I found it more convenient to place the back of my ipod on a frozen cold pack until the wifi is restored. It seems to happen when condensation forms on the face. I used a towel to wipe off the moisture so as not to add to the problem. -
I purchased a new router and can not connect my IPHONE 4S to it. All my other devices connect fine including my IPAD. HELP! I am not a techie!! I am a newbie
My guess is that when you see the router on your phone, you press the blue arrow on the right - thats why you see all the IP stuff. Don't press the blue arrow. Press further to the left. You should be prompted for a password then.

Can't connect Iphone 4 to Home WIFI
I have tried just about everything to connect my Iphone 4 to my home WIFI. Short of getting a new router I have a Linksys Wireless G Router WRT54G. My security is a WPA security. Apple Expert at the Apple store told me to set up WPA2 but that is not compatible according to Linksys. We removed all security and still could not connect. My laptops work fine. My TIVO works fine. I am able to connect to other WIFIS like a neighbors whose is not secure and the WIFI at the Apple Store. Is there some type of setting in my router we are not setting correctly? Kind of frustrated and don't want to purchase a new router if we don't have to. Any help is appreciated.
Having a similar problem. My Linksys is a WRT54G2 v1.5. And it has worked fine in the past. But lately (I can't say exactly when it changed) my wi-fi connection on my iPhoene is terrible. The SPeedtest.net app consistantly gives me a ping in the 200 range, dowload speeds around 0.2 and upload speeds of 0.0 while I'm standing right next to it. All other devices and laptops connect fine and test at much higher speeds, and my phone connects fine everywhere else. Multiple resets of the router, the DSL modem and my iPhone have made no difference, nor has resetting all network settings on my iPhone. In fact I just did a complete restore to my iPhone 2 days ago, and the issue is unchanged.
And advise would be appreciated. -
Can not connect iphone 3g to home wifi
My iphone won't connect to home wifi. Does not even show it as finding it. However, my other iphones connect just fine.
Does the iPhone connect to other wifi networks?
If yes, then I would suggest that you turn off your wireless router for 10+ seconds. Power it back on and see if the iPhone 3G works to connect to the network
If no, then you could have some faulty hardware in the iPhone. Try to turn the iPhone off, and then on again as well as the wifi setting on the iPhone. If it still doesn't work then try to reset first, followed by a restore from a backup, and then restore the iPhone as set up as a new iPhone. If after all that it still doesn't work then it probably is a hardware issue -
I have a RevI Actiontec router with dual antennas(not sure of firmware as I am not at home). My wife can be on her laptop all day, then when I come home with my IPad, it make her lose connection to the router. The router still connects to my iPhone 4 and iPad (both with iOS 6.0.1), but she is unable to connect to router at all. Everything continues to function normally on my Apple devices, so we are still connected to the internet. I have a laptop as well, and when this is happening, both of the laptops stop connecting, but the apple devices and our Toshiba TV and BluRay players continue to function normally. As a temp fix, I disconnect internet from my iPad and restart the router. It works until we try to run both at the same time.
I am mildly computer literate, though I know little about network setups beyond security, MAC filtering, and other slightly advanced setup stuff.
This is really frustrating and seems to be getting worse. We used it like this in our new house for several months before this started happening. Also check to make sure neither of the devices are set to use a static IP address.
