TS1398 I cant activate wifi function or bluetooth after new OS update
After i updated it started having trouble staying connected to a wifi network, so i restarted the phone and now i cant activate wifi or bluetooth.. It just says off and cant turn it on..
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

Also, make a backup to iTunes of the device. Then restore it as a new device. If you still have wi-fi greyed out, then contact Apple again, and explain that you believe you have a hardware issue. They may still ask for a $19 deposit, but if it is actually hardware related, then you won't be charged the $19. Only if it is software related do you get charged that $19. -

What are you blaming Apple? If FB worked before and now it doesn't, maybe it is the developers fault.
FWIW, I just updated facebook and I am able to get into my account. Try to uninstall and reinstall your apps. -

No WIFI or Bluetooth after 3.0 update
After updating today to 3.0 on my 3G, the Bluetooth and WIFI is unavailable. When I updated, there was a problem which required me to Restore. After the restore, these items became unavailable. I read it might be because I updated on a Windows machine with a Firewall so I restored again with my MacBook, but no luck. When will there be a patch! I need my Bluetooth when I'm driving! Help!
I am one of the victim losing WiFi and Bluetooth (grey out) after OS 3.0 upgrade. I spent hours searching internet and finally recover my WiFi only (but not yet bluetooth). Would like to share if this helps other victims of OS3.0 upgrade.
1. Download iRecovery for Windows 1.3

2. Install both libusb and iRecovery
3. Turn your iphone 3G to Recovery mode

5. run iRecovery -s
6. printenv wifiaddr to confirm still "00:00:00:00:00:00"

8. saveenv
9. fsboot
Now you have your WiFi back to normal.
BTW, my bluetooth is still greyed out. please share any ideas how to enable my Bluetooth in Iphone 3G -

it seems like apple's activation servers have gone down under the weight of the overwhelming amount of activation requests. you will be able to activate your phone once the servers are able to catch up with the activation requests.

Are you speaking of an Apple Keyboard or Logitech or ... ? You need to updated the driver of this keyboard, if it is not Apple.
You have a System Preference "Keyboard". Did you open it already?

Ipad is not connecting to wifi in sleep mode after iOS 6 update
I used to be able to receive FaceTime calls when ipad was in sleep mode but ever since this past update I don't. I had problems like everyone else wi connecting to the Internet but I was able to fix that. Is there any way the ipad can stay connected while in sleep mode.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

Slow to no wifi speed on 4s after ios 6 update
yesterday I updated my 4S to IOS 6 and now my wifi speed is zero. I've restored the phone, deleted the wifi network and rebooted everything and I still cannot even complete a speed test on the phone, it's so slow. It will not pull up a map or download an upgrade.
I, too, had slow WiFi connections when able to connect at all after upgrading my 3rd generation iPad to IOS 6. I think I found a way around the problem this morning and have notified my Apple support contact with my findings.
The following provides a little background about my specific problem:
After upgrade to IOS 6, home network wouldn't connect
Tried all the suggested options (recovering iPad- twice, Auto proxy, turning wireless and airplane mode on/off, rebooting iPad, disabling wireless security) none of which solved problem
finally able to connect by reconfiguring my Linksys E1500 router to use channel 6, confusing because it use to work, but at least I was connected
In my office I had great connectivity with no modifications - ran speedtest and had >18Mbps/sec download speed
Figured it was my router so was getting ready to buy an AirPort, when I found that my Mac-mini could be configured to operate as a router
Configured the Mac to share my ethernet and got excellent connectivity on iPad >18Mbps/sec, same as in the office
Tried all Linksys router channels and found could only connect on channels 6, 7 and 8 and only when channel width was set to 20Meg. Could only connect using 20/40Meg channel width on channel 6.
Throughput on channel 6 was: 0.72Mbps down, 1.05Mbps up with a ping time of 156Msec (Note router was in N/B/G or "Mixed" mode)
Reconfigured the Linksys router to only use B/G mode and the Auto channel selection now works and got the following throughput: 6.79Mbps down, 3.30Mbps up and 975Msec ping (Note this was about 50 feet from the router - same conditions as above. When in the same room as the router got: 19.58Mbps down, 3.38Mbps up, 982Msec ping)
So for my specific problem I could acheive acceptable WiFi performance by downgrading my LinkSys router to not use "N" mode. Since N mode works between the iPad and the Mac I suspect there could be an issue with Apple's implementation of the protocol, but I've supplied this information to Apple in the hopes they can address my issue in their next patch release.

No WIFI OR Edge network after 3.0 update on first generation
I'm working with an original 1st generation iPhone.
I updated which seemed to go well (compared to horror stories I heard from my 3G friends earlier this afternoon). After the update I noticed some major issues:
1. I can not connect to WIFI networks
2. I can not even connect to the Edge network (therefore the internet just straight up doesn't work).
3. I can not access voice mail.
4. It cleared all of my text message conversations.
5. It cleared all of my recent calls.
6. It reset my settings in a few of my apps.
I CAN make calls and send/receive texts.
I can live with having to deal with 4, 5, and 6, but not having 1, 2, and 3, is just ridiculous.
Can anyone help?I also have the original iPhone and I am also in Pittsburgh and my EDGE network is down. I did not get the software update though. Maybe the storms last night caused an issue with AT&T's network. Please let me know if you hear anything on this. Thanks!

WiFi must manually reconnect after sleep (since updating to 10.9.4)
My MacBook Air (Mid 2011) just updated to 10.9.4 and now the WiFi doesn't reconnect to my home network when I resume from sleep (open the lid). I need to click the WiFi icon and re-choose the home network each time.
This is new since I updated. Ironically, when I read the update notes, it was supposedly to fix this type of issue from occurring in the first place, and yet I never had the problem until after I updated.

Wifi synch not working after 5.1 update!
After updating to 5.1 i'm having problems synching my iPhone 4s and iPad. The "synch" bar is simply greyed out on both devices. I have tried connecting both devices via cable in order to synch them, and this works fine. I have also tried to change the "synch with this iPhone", and then restarted the phone and then turned the synch in itunes on again. But no luck. Can anyone help me?
Thanks!I had the same problem. As soon as I updated my iPad and iPhone to iOS 5.1. I tried different things, but I've just managed to add my phone back by unchecking the 'sync with this phone over wifi' then syning via cable. Then I re-checked the 'sync with this phone over wifi' and re-sync via cable. I unplugged my phone and it was then connected via wifi! I hope this can help.

Hi: I guess what I meant to say is that you may want to play around with some of the advanced settings for the card in the device manager. It seems that reading the article you posted, that procedure may have been for folks that have Cisco software to allow for Virtual Private Networking (VPN) and I don't think the drivers you have include any Cisco extensions. You can see if there is Cisco networking software by going to the Programs menu in the control panel and see the list of programs installed. There are usually 2-3 Cisco networking software items listed if you do. Sometimes tweaking those advanced settings help. Set Roam tendency to conservative. Roam decision to optimize distance. I had to change some setting on an old Intel 5300 wireless card to allow it to connect in W10. Wifi range greatly reduced after ios 7 update

Everything was running great. I even got reception out in the hack yard. After the ios 7 update, the wifi drops when I get farther than 10 feet from the router.
I tried rebooting the router and resetting network preferences and also a complete wipe and default install. Nothing has worked.Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
Or if this doesn't work and nobody else on the blog doesn't have a better idea you can contact Apple.
