TS1398 Installed IOS 6, can't connect to wifi.

Anybody have a problem connecting to wifi after installing IOS 6?

I just downloaded iOS 6 and it shows WiFi connected under settings. When I open up the WiFi tab, it has the grey circle continuously running on my wifi network and will not connect.
It only shows 3G - no wifi signal strength on the top bar.

I updated my phone to iOS 6 and now when I try to connect it seems like it is connected but then a web page pops up to an apple page thats says log in at the top ans then "Hmm, the page you're looking for can't be found. This happened at home with an Airport Extreme and a ATT broadband access point and at work with an Airport Extreme.

Try a soft reset or turn the device completely off then turn it back on again. Also you can toggle Airplane mode on for about 10 seconds and then turn it off. Sometimes that resets the radio signal inside the device.
A soft reset is basically holding onto the power button and the home button simultaneously together for about 10 seconds or until you see the screen flash and it should go completely black. Afterwards, tun the device back on like normally and see if that fixes the problem.

Also try this - Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app
    •    Tap on Wi-Fi
    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

This does not work in my case.
Situation: we have wifi at home using WPA encryption.
The iPod Touch 8GB connected seamless to this network and anything was ok. After some days i could no longer connect, the iPod told me "connection to network 'networkname here' failed". Deleting the network and reenter the (correct) passphrase was no help, but changing the SSID on the router was helpful: the iPod could connect again ... for several days.
Now things stopped working again. Resetting network settings did not help either.
The iPod can see the network, is asking me for the passphrase and after several seconds telling me: can't connect. On the router log i don't even see a dhcp request, but other laptops work fine with the same wifi network.
That's a mess, i cannot and will not change the SSID every some days just to get the iPod working again.

I had the same problem. I did the reset networks on my iPhone & it did not work. My husband read somewhere that changing the channel on the router to manual & selecting the highest available channel number might help. I did that & it solved the problem. I have not had the problem since.

Yes as long as your apps have been optimised for iOS 8 you can re install them from cloud in your purchases.

My steps (iPhone 4S):
1. Settings > Wi-Fi.
2. Tap on my wireless network.
3. Enter password.
4. Tap "Join".
Result: A message comes up with zero delay, saying that it was unable to join the network. No further infromation is provided.
100% positive that password is correct - entered it four times on device, then entered it on laptop and it was accepted there.
100% positive that network is correct - no other networkin range has a name even remotely close to it.
