TS1398 ipad won't accept password from iphone hotspot

When connecting my ipad to the hotspot from my iphone, it asks for the password to the hotspot.  I enter the password and receive the message "incorrect password for 'my iphone'".  I have reset network settings, and tried changing the password on the iphone.  There is no problem connecting to other iphone hotspots.

I have the same problem. I went to the apple store and they told me to Reset the iPad (That means every downloaded app will be deleted so they've advised me to back it up on my iCloud account or in iTunes account using my PC) I dont wanna do it since I can still use my BB Curve mobile hotspot. It connects to my ipad by disabling the password of the hotspot. I havent tried disabling the hotspot password on my iPhone 5 (I don't know how to do it) I haven't tried reseting the iPad yet but it might helpful to you.

  • TS1398 Ipad won't accept WIFI signal all of a sudden - worked fine till tonight

My ipad has worked for over a year on my home wifi network and tonight it will not connect no matter what I do. Wifi is working as my computers are all working fine and the modem is working but for some reason my ipad has decided it won't accept the signal.  I have tried all of the troubleshooting suggestions; ie, forget network, shut off and restart, etc.  Still just circles and circles trying to connect. The IP address and subnet mask numbers show up but nothing else.  And when I try to go online it says Network Required.  Please help!  This is driving me crazy!

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

  • My IPAD won't accept my wi-fi password. I have tried resetting all settings and network settings but still won't accept it. Can't download to new version of IOS either, says software update server could not be contacted.

my IPAD won't accept my wi-fi password. I have tried resetting all settings and network settings but still won't accept it. Can't download to new version of IOS either, says software update server could not be contacted.

Yes I have put in the correct password, its all numbers so can't get it wrong really.
It has connected before as has my iPod and that won't connect either. I have checked that they aren't on the blocked list of the wi fi. Managed to download the new version of iOS and that hasn't made a difference.
I have the wi fi plugged directly into the computer rather than the booster hub as the computer won't connect to it when its in the hub. I did get the iPad to connect to the internet when it twas in the hub but once I upgraded the iOS it won't accept the wifi password in the hub either.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

My iPad won't accept new bookmarks in safari.

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the iPad shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the iPad back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray before doing the reset.

MasterBinker, have you tried using the Forgot Password link in the sign in page for ePrintCenter?  This should send a new password to the email address.
You may also want to try using a different web browser.

  • How do I remove password from iphone backups?

I am currently using the original iPhone running 1.0.2. I'm just wondering how do I remove the password from iphone backups? I read on other threads that you only have to uncheck "encrypt backup" in the summary page when you connect your phone. However, I don't have this option. I only see:
    - Open iTunes when this iPhone is connected
    - Sync only ticked songs and videos
    - Convert higher bit rate songs to 128 kbp AAC
    - Manually manage music and videos
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you are just trying to bypass the passcode on the phone, you can unlock it.  Plug the phone into your computer/itunes and turn the equipment on.  At the same time hold down the on/off button and the home button and do not let go.  Typically you will see the apple symbol and after a few minutes you will see a picture of a apple cord asking you to plug th ephone in to itunes.  unplug the phone from your computer and replug.  You should then be able to restore the phone to original manufacturing setings using the apple software on your computer.
If you are trying to bypass the APPLE user id and password, that's a whole new set of issues.

  • Won't accept password when waking from sleep.

a client of mine is having an issue where her mac won't accept her password after waking from sleep.  The same password works when she restarts.  She has confirmed that caps lock is off.  Any Ideas?
I left her a message trying to find out more details about her computer like OS version and stuff.  Will update this when i hear from her.

She still hasn't returned my call, but i know that she is able to type.  Whether its wifi keyboard or not I do not know.

  • Cannot boot from HDD, Login won't accept password

    I have a iBook G4 1Ghz, 768mb. 10.4.3
External HDD is a Prolific PL3507 120gb. Some time ago I cloned the iBook onto a partition using SuperDuper. Recently, wanting to test the clone I rebooted holding down the 'Option' key, selected the HDD volume which is seen by the iBook. (I couldn't select it otherwise could I, doh!).
Start up seems to go as it should, but slowly, but then gets to a login window which will not accept my usual login. When the clone was done I had a different password, but it won't accept that either. I have changed the iBook password back to what it was at the time of the clone, still no result.
I have tried from Startup Disk in System Preferences, again the volume is seen as a startup volume but I still get the login window and the 'shuddering' box, whatever I put in as user/password. Sometimes I get the rainbow wheel for about 15 secs while it 'thinks' about my password and then the shuddering box.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks in advance,
    Adrian
