TS1398 iPhone 3 GS wi-fi connention

Since upgrading to ios6 on my iPhone 3 GS, every time I come home I have to log into my wi-fi network.  My iPad connects with no problem.  My iPhone remembers other networks, just not mine.  Help!

The normal troubleshooting procudures for this problem are:
Reset the phone network settings (Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings)
Reboot the router - unplug it from the A/C power source for 30 seconds
Log back into your network vis Settings > WiFi > Other and retyping in your network name, encryption type, and network password.
If your problem is occuring on public networks, there are a number of variables happening on that router(s) that are out of your control.  Turning off WiFi and/or Renewing the Lease are the two best ways to deal with it.  This is not an iOS problem, btw.

    complete restore of the iPhone, twice. Once using iCloud once, not.

  • TS1398 iPhone 3GS 16GB won't locate routers

    My iPhone 3GS 16GB, running 6.1.3 won't locate either of my routers unless I'm in the same room as them, and even then the signal varies. My Wife's MacBook Pro, Air and my Mini together with visitor's Apples locate the routers just fine. Anyone got any ideas? I've tried quite a few online suggestions baut all to no avail.

    Reboot the router by turning it off for at least 30 seconds. Then turn it back on. Wait until the router indicates a good connection to the Internet then turn on your device.

    Still no help, you could have a hardware failure. Make an appointment at an Apple store to have the device examined.

  • TS1398 Iphone 4s will not stay connected to wifi after update

    I can see my network, it connects for a few seconds and then disconnects. This started after the update.  I have tried reseting the router, the phone..............everything 100X.
    All my other devices work fine and other types of phones can connect to my network. It's a specific problem wth this phone.

    Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with Wi-Fi on your iPhone 4s.  I recommend the following steps:
    Be sure you're in range of your Wi-Fi router (access point).
    Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi off and on. If your W-Fi setting is dimmed, follow these steps.
    Confirm that your Wi-Fi router and cable or DSL modem are connected to power, turned on, and connected to the Internet. If not, refer to your network administrator or Internet service provider (ISP) for assistance.
    Restart your iOS device.
    Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and locate the Wi-Fi network to which you're connected.
    Tap and Forget this Network.
    Try to connect to your desired Wi-Fi network.
    Note: You may need to enter your Wi-Fi password again if your network requires one.
    Turn your Wi-Fi router off and on2. If your ISP also provides cable or phone service, check with them before attempting this step to avoid interruption of service.
    Update your device to the latest version of software.
    Update your Wi-Fi router to the latest firmware2. For AirPort Base Stations, install updates using the AirPort Utility.
    If the issue is still unresolved Wi-Fi disconnects or signal strength is less than expected
    Move closer to the Wi-Fi router (access point).
    Check for sources of potential interference.
    Remove any case, stand, or other accessories from your iOS device and see if signal strength improves.
    Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note: This will reset all network settings including
    previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords
    recently used Bluetooth accessories
    VPN and APN settings

    The iPhone warranty is not international.  Apple will only honor the warranty in the country where the iPhone was sold.
    If your WiFi connections button in Settings is greyed out, see http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1559 and if you want to Troubleshoot, and can access the router, http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398 those may help but you probably need to have the iPhone tested by an Apple technician.

  • TS1398 iPhone 4 IOS 5.1.1 can no longer connect to my home wifi.

    I upgraded my IOS using the latest version of iTunes on my Win 7 PC. Now, I'm unable to connect to my AT&T U-Verse wifi. When I try, I get the message "Unable to join network". I tried restarting the iPhone. I tried restarting my wireless router. I tried resetting my network settings on my iPhone. Help...

    I've tried the following:
    * Settings | General | Reset | Reset Network Settings (Twice)
    * Settings | General | Reset | Reset All Settings (Once)
    * Plugging it in and doing a "Restore" through iTunes (that's how I downloaded iOS 5.1.1 in the first place)
    All the passcodes and restrictions are are turned off.
    When I first try to connect to the network, I'm prompted to enter my username and password (I've elected to "forget" the network a few times so I can get this screen again). If I enter it wrong, then I just get an error that I'm not connected. When I enter it right, I get a warning that the certificate is "not verified". When I click on "More Details", I can see all the information that got pulled from the network (Issuer Name, Signature Algorithm, Public Key Algorithm, Key Usage, etc.). When I choose to "Accept", I get the little icon indicating that it's trying to connect...this never goes away (I let it run for an hour).
    The encryption type on the main Wifi I'm trying to connect to says it's RSA (I'm guessing it's WEP though...I didn't set it up, our IT group did that).

    I have a wireless network that I connect with on my MacBook but not on my iPhone.  When I try to login to the network I get an error message saying the password is incorrect.  This is the same password that I am using on the MacBook which works fine.  Anyone have any ideas?

    Forget the network (in settings/WiFi). Reboot the phone by holding the HOME and SLEEP buttons until an Apple logo appears, then try again.
    If that does not resolve the problem go to Settings/General/Reset - Reset Network Settings.
    BTW, if it is a 40 bit WEP key it must be key 1 (although I hope no one uses WEP anymore, regardless of key length).

    The fastest way to deal with your iPhone saying "unable to connect to network" is knowing the name of you network (SSID) and password. Go to settings>network>other and put in the name and password.

    It appears my iPhone 4S no longer has the ability to scan for networks, so I'm unable to get WiFi service. All other devices in my house (husband's iPhone, iPad, computers) are connected to wifi. I've reset my iPhone network settings twice. I've tried also manually entering the network to which I receive the message "Could not scan for for wireless networks."     My iphone 4S displays a message saying that it, "Can not search for wireless networks.  Any suggestions?  I've turned it off, reset the network settings, taken out the sim card, turned on/off airplane mode . . . what else can I do?  When I've phoned the help line I've been waiting to get through for over an hour!!

    Try Resetting Network Settings from Settings > General Reset.

  • TS1398 iPhone can not see any wifi signals anymore.

    Used to work fine, have updated, reset, rebooted etc but still nothing. Other iPhones in the house all still OK. HAve tried several locations that it used to connect to wifi. Have worked through all the help pages and tried all those ideas. Process of elimination confirms the issue is with this 4S handset. Anyone got any other suggestions?

    My phone can see networks with 1 bar,(or 2 when 5 feet from my router), but i am unable to connect. After trying every concievable solution, including several restores both via the menu and itunes, i gave up and called Apple. The rep agreed that it most certainly must be a hardware problem and assured me that as soon as they recieved it back in post i would be sent a "replacement" phone. She actually couldn't apologise enough for the inconvenience of being without a phone for 5 DAYS, as this is how long the turnaround would be, i was assured. This suggests to me that indeed there is a bad problem with the built in wi-fi as the same or very similar problems are all over the forums. I of course don't expect to actually get a phone back for 10-12 days but miracles may happen...>>>>

    It is quite obvious that you people at apple keep your eye on the forums, why is it your company never listens to it's customers in them. Better support for your products which cost us plenty, would be a good place to start. Having 2 dead ipods, 3 working ones and a iphone from apple, bears testimony that i am a loyal customer. How about returning the loyalty by putting out products that work first time - every time...

    my mums new iPhone 5 is having troubles connecting to the Wi-Fi which has had no problems in the past. she got it for her birthday and this issue is distorting her true view of Apple products. please help me resolve this!

    friend explained cannot use finger nails to enter items have to use finger tips so not all values were entered properly.  Wasn't aware iphone key pad has some sort of sensor.

    iPhone unable to download from Apps Store using Verizon mobile hot spot or Barnes & Nobel Wi Fi, otherwise connections work fine

    App Store must have been overloaded on holiday weekend because it's working (downloading apps) no problem after 10:30 pm.  If I had known, I wouldn't have wasted several hours trying to figure it out.
