TS1398 My iPad finds the WiFi network I want to join (and it

My iPad finds the right WiFi network, and it's a network it has been able to connect to in the past. But when i click on the network it says unable to connect. The network is password protected, but when i click on the network i am not prompted for the password. I reset the WiFi (and it connects to other devices just fine), and i have reset the WiFi on the iPad, and nothing changes.
Thanks,
Ally

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app
    •    Tap on Wi-Fi
    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

how do i find the wifi network name and passwordfor iphone 4s?

Well Netgear will not know your password. The factory default user name for netgear is usually admin and the factory default is password is password.  Go to an internet browser and in the url windo type in 192.168.0.1 and if I am right a login window will appear.  Try the factory defaults.

  • My iphone can not find the wifi networks

my iphone can not find the wifi networks

Is your router plugged in?  Do you have internet?
    Come on...
I have the same issue.  Yesterday I could connect to my wifi just fine, but today I turned on my wifi and the wheel just spins and spins.  I restart my phone and I get the "greyed out" wifi switch. So I restart, and I'm back to square one.  The wheel just keeps spinning.
I've updated the router firmware, I've power cycled everything multiple times, and still nothing.
Can anyone give a real solution? Or do we just have to suffer until apple update this **** IOS6?

  • HT4199 Why can't my iphone 4 find the wifi network at home when my ipad 2 has a full wifi signal?

I have an iphone 4 and an ipad2, I have never been able to fully connect to wifi network at home consistently using my iPhone, whereas my ipad2 connects all the time without any problems. My iphone does not even pick up any other local networks, just wondered if there is a setting I need to adjust or something that I can do to be able to connect to any wifi signal or if I should take my phone back to apple store? Thanks

    1. Try doing a hard reset:
Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/wake button simultaneously for about 15 seconds and release when the Apple logo appears.
    2. If that doesn't work, use this article for troubleshooting: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1398
    3. If that doesn't solve the issue, backup the device and restore it as new.
    In that case, use: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137
NB: set up as a NEW device because a software issue will be in the backup. If the issue persists after restoring as new, you should offer the device for service.
If you get specific error messages/codes in iTunes when updating/restoring, check this: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3694 for causes and solutions
If you restore your iPhone to factory settings without a backup and still can't detect/connect to any network, you should offer the device for service.
    Good luck

  • HT202118 after restoring my apple tv it finds the wifi network successfully then gets hung up on finding the date

date and time hang up on apple tv

Still doesn't explain why the wifi connection wasn't working properly. Also this is a messy business, having to remove the TV and place it near the computer so that the ethernet cable can be used. Then disconnect, take the TV back to the other room and connect again. So now it is connecting porperly via wifi. How come?

  • My airport can't find my wifi network.

I have a Gateway 2wire that I came with AT&T Uverse.  It has been problematic at times, but now my iMac can't find the wifi network at all.  It doesn't make sense to me. Sometimes it works great, sometimes it keep dropping off.  Me and my wife both have iPhones, my iPhone found the network no problem, hers could not, so I entered it manually and that worked.  Then my iMac was working great on it, then all of a sudden, for no apparent reason, it stopped working and now it can't find the wifi network.  I can't even enter it manually.  The iPhones see it and work fine, my Wii see's it and works fine.  But my new blu-ray can't see it either. So why are some of my devices working fine with it, and others can't even find it.  I have worked with AT&T a few time and they keep saying it's not the 2wire.  I don't believe them, I have read to many reports of similar problems with the 2wire with AT&T.  Is there anything I can do to solve this.  I keep thinking I wan't to get an Airport Extreme and connect it to the 2wire, I have read that it is possible and will work, but I wan't to know why this router is visible to some devices and not others. Does anyone understand this.

I'm not sure what you mean. You can't find the express to set it up.. or you can't find the network created by the express?

  • Computer can not find the wifi internet

    Goodmorning,
I have a mac book pro (with lion) and wifi internet at home. All of a sudden my computer can not find my network although it is available and working as an i pad and a mobile are working via this wifi network.
I tried 'create a network' and 'join other network' but it looks like the computer can not find the wifi network. My computer has internet access via cable, but just by plugging in the cable wihtout changing the settings (switching off the wifi).
Any idea what to do ?
    Thanks

The Mac on cable uses Ethernet. Wi-Fi uses AirPort. Try and delete your Airport setting and re-enter your configurations again.

My Ipad can't connect to WiFi.  I tried to reset and connect to the wifi network, it will divert me to the IOS page...could you please help? Thanks.

Try a soft reset or turn the device completely off then turn it back on again. Also you can toggle Airplane mode on for about 10 seconds and then turn it off. Sometimes that resets the radio signal inside the device.
A soft reset is basically holding onto the power button and the home button simultaneously together for about 10 seconds or until you see the screen flash and it should go completely black. Afterwards, tun the device back on like normally and see if that fixes the problem.

    Hey Dr kris,
Thanks for the question, and welcome to Apple Support Communities.
I understand that you are having issues connecting to Wi-Fi networks with your iPad mini. The following troubleshooting assistant may lead to a resolution:
Apple - Support - iPhone - Join a network Assistant
    http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/wifi/
For more in-depth troubleshooting, refer to the following article (refer to the "Unable to connect to a Wi-Fi network):

My phone is not able to find any wifi networks.
I have another i phone and it is connected just fine, my ipad and computers are conneted just fine.
I followed apples directions but still not working.
It stopped working around december 5th.

Thats odd unless its a Windows 9x system lol. You shouldn't need drivers for USB storage devices. They are designed to identify themselves as Mass Storage class devices which will run with the built in drivers after Windows 98.  Occasionally you will get a device that have deliberately been designed to not meet the standards (for extra features) but you saying this happens with other USB devices says this isn't the case.
Does it only happen with storage devices? Like hard drives, flash drives etc?
The model and windows version shouldn't make much of a difference in this case but it doesn't hurt to know what kind of system you are using.
Look up the USB controller in your system, if there are drivers for that, download them. If it's an already Windows supported device there is no need to download anything for it (have your Windows disc handy if you use XP) then uninstall the USB controller from the Windows Device Manager using the option to remove the drivers as well if the option is there.  Restart and let Windows find the USB controller and install it (and any other devices attached to the USB bus). You may find your keyboard, mouse and any other USB devices won't work until Windows has finished installing them.  Just give it some time, Windows will get there.

I have 2  iPads both the sane except for case color. One connects to my home wifi fine, the other will not "join". It finds the wifi name and the little circle turning wheel just spins. I have tried about ten different "fixes" none work.. Reboot, forget wifi, etc.
Unplugged wifi on and on for about an hour.
I have compared settings between the two and cannot see any difference.
Both iPads worked fine last week. One made a trip to MI  and used cellular access just fine. Now that one still uses cellular OK, but refuses to "join" the wifi.
    Too bad I can't attach a picture.
Anyone care to offer a unique workable solution I have not tried?

Have you tried renewing the lease in the WiFi settings? Settings>WiFi>Your network name>Tap the blue arrow>Renew Lease. If you haven't tried that - try it first before reading the information about restoring the iOS software.
Follow the instructions in here. If you are unsure about anything - do not proceed. Post back with questions first.
iTunes: Restoring iOS software - Apple - Support
Make sure that you transfer all purchases, backup the iPad and sync with iTunes first. When you restore to factory settings, iTunes should ask if you want to backup first, but it will not hurt to initiate a backup on your won before you even start the restore process.
