Ipad will connect no problem to other networks.

First thing you need I think is to get your iMac connected to the Internet.
Shut down your iMac and you iPad. Then power off your router. Wait 30 seconds and power up the router.
After the router indicates that it is connected to the Internet then start up your iMac and see if it connects. If the iMac connects to the Internet then your iPad should too.
If this power up sequence doesn't work you'll have to dig into the router setup to make sure it is working properly.

Since then, my ipad will connect onto the main home network but will not attach to my extension booster (netgear) which is linked to the home network. Did you try forgetting the network and starting all over again?
Settings>WiFi>Network Name>Tap the blue arrow>Forget this Network. Restart your iPad and then try joining again.
Try rebooting your router. Even though everything else may be connecting to your Network, it might help with the iPad. Unplug the router for about 30 seconds and then plug it in again.
Reset Network settings on the iPad?
Settings>>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings. You will have to start all over again, Tap WiFi in the settings, find your network and enter the password.

I would be interested to know if the affected phones are able to connect to a different Wi-Fi connection, but barring that I would use the following article to help troubleshoot the devices and the Wi-Fi connection:

Ever since the last software update my iPad will not connect to the internet. I can see the networks and have great signal strength but it just won't connect. Other iPad users who have not done the update can sit next to me and connect with no issues. My iPad is only a month old! not good enough!

There are no changes to WiFi in the last two updates 4.3.4, and 4.3.5. These contained only fixes for a malicious PDF file handling problem, and a security certificate handling problem.
Try using Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings to see if that fixes your problems.

My ipad running on ios 3.2.2 was working fine with the home wifi network. Upgraded to 4.3.2 and suddenly it recognises the network but will not join it. Tried all solutions listed in the troubleshooting and suggested by apple technical support. any help?

Have ipad 1. Was working fine and was able to connect to the home Wi Fi network. Was running ios3.2.2. Upgrade to so called improved ios 4.3.2 and cheers the pad just doesnt join the home network. Tried all the tricks and trouble shooting listed in the forum and as guided by the technical support. Even restored the pad three times. Still the same problem remains. Have been advised to upgrade to 4.3.3, but am apprehensive- dont know what else will stop working. As such without WiFi my pad is as good as a piece of junk. Apple has some serious issues that require sorting out. If anyone can help me kindly do so.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

HT1414 just updated ipad to latest software version. finding wifi but will not connect

Just updated ipad to 6.1. Finding wifi but not connecting.

1. Turn router off for 30 seconds and on again, this will refresh the IP address of the iPad.
2. Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
3. Try changing router security e.g. WEP/WPA/WPA2
4. Have you updated router firmware?

I can not get the iPad to connect to the internet thru the router it shows the modum but will not connect

Additional things to try.
Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
On your iPad go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings and see if that enables you to connect.

TS1398 My ipad is showing a wi-fi network, but will not connect. I've tried turning off and on, and went through the troubleshooting, still nothing. Then I reset network settings as suggested, still nothing. Any ideas?
