TS1398 My iPod touch won't connect to the wifi.?

So my iPod touch has been conecting to the internet perfectly these last few weeks, but i turned it on this morning and it would not connect to my home wifi at all. It connects to other wifi signals, and i can connect my laptop to my home wifi, but not my ipod? It constantly has a loading sign next to it even though i have full signal connection?
I have tried turning it off and on multiple times
I have tried turning the wifi connector on and off
I have reset my network settings
I have held the home button and lock button for ten seconds and restarted it
I "forgot" the wifi link and re added it with the password again
I don't want IOS7 and i can't download it without internet anyway
I dont know what else to do and im really starting to get annoyed
Help please

It connects to other wifi signals, and i can connect my laptop to my home wifi, but not my ipod? It constantly has a loading sign next to it even though i have full signal connection? indicates a problem with your network.
Power off and then back on the router
Next try changing the security on the router. Start with no security (no password required) for a test.
- Restore from iCloud backup. It shuld not update to iOS 7See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device via iTunes. This will update a 5G to iOS 7
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • My ipod touch won't connect to the wifi network?

    Hello,
My ipod touch won't work upstairs in my house. It is a 32gb 3rd generation and you have to stand close to the router. My family has two other ipod touchs and both of them work up in my room. I need help on how to mak it so my iPod works. I have reset the network settings 5 times and I have restored it once. Neither of them work. I have had it since 2009 and i got the wifi router in February 2011. It worked until March break when I went to my friends house and my iPod wouldn't work unless I stood bside her laptop. there was 3 other iPod touchs that worked fne though. Can I get viruses on my iPod touch?? Please help

Here's how I solved my connection issues (I got this from doing online research):
Manually Configure Your Network: From DHCP tab, tap the STATIC tab at the top. You will be presented with 4 fields to fill in:
Field 1 is the IP Address. This address is for your iPod and it needs to be corret inorder to connect to the network. You need to know the address of your router in order to fill this field in. If you have a home network router, chances are your router address is something like 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 (you need to find this in your router's manual). Set your iPod's IP address to something like 192.168.X.150 (X= the 3rd number in your router's address).
Field 2 is the Subnet Mask. Most likely, your Subnet mask will be 255.255.255.0 (as long as your router's address begins with 192.168.X.X).
Field 3 is the Router Address. This address is given to you in your router's user manual. Some manufacturers even have it written on the bottom or back of the router itself. Most likely, it will be either 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 (confirm with your user manual). This address is also called the Default Gateway.
Field 4 is the DNS address. If the above fields are correctly set, these should be determined automatically. However, if they are not, you will need to get this (or these) address(es) from your Internet Service Provider. You may also obtain this information from http://opendns.com (free service).
When I first tried this procedure, I could only receive mail and not send. Later on, I could send but not receive. After a few calls to my ISP (they said they were having problems with the internet) and a lot of entering and re-entering the information, I finally gave up and early the next a.m. I input everything again and all of a sudden I was hooked up!
My ISP never could tell me why I couldn't get a connection.
    P.S. The port I used was 25.
    Good Luck!

  • Two of our ipod touches won't connect to the home wifi.  They have done before. All other apple devices connect fine.  They can see the wifi devices, appear to try to connect (the circle whirls around) but connection doesn't complete.  Ideas?

I have 2 of them that only connected for a day and then reset network settings and they connected again for a day now resetting network settings does not fix it either. My iphone used to work with my home network but after upgrading to the latest OS which is the same versions as the ipods it no longer works either. Acts the same as the ipods. It would seem that the latest tweeks to the OS is the problem with wifi connectivity.

  • HT3867 My iPod touch isn't connecting to the wifi

When I try to connect to my school's wifi, with my iPod touch, it doesn't work. I have the correct password, username, etc., but when I choose to connect to the wifi, it always has the loading signal, and never actually connects. It doesn't show the checkmark that means you're connected. I also cannot connect to any Internet page cause it's obviously not connected. I've connected to the wifi before, but recently this has been happening.
    Any ideas?

Does the iPod connect to other networks?
    Do other devices now connect?
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

  • My ipod touch won't connect to my wifi

A few days ago my iPod touch, 5th gen would connect to my home wifi just fine but now it won't. Every time I try to reconnect, it says that it can't or it failed. I've tried holding down the on/off button and the home button at the same time and then resetting my network connections but it still won't connect. Any other suggestions that don't include me losing all of my stuff on my iPod?

Does the iOS device connect to other networks?
Does the iOS device see the network?
    Any error messages?
    Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

  • IPod touch won't connect to the internet.

I am sharing the connection from my MacBook Pro 17", late 2007 (with Airport Extreme). I have an internet connection from a Verizon wireless usb modem. It has always worked before on my iPod touch 4g, when I was running iOS 4.3.4. However, I just updated to iOS 5.0.1, and now I can't load any webpages. If I set a password on the network (this has helped with problems before), the moment I connect on my iPod I have full connection strength - but I can't load webpages. If I don't set a password, it doesn't show a connection in the status bar (and, of course, I can't connect).
I may try restoring from my 4.3.4 backup and reinstalling iOS 5.0.1 (my father suggests this).
A few additional details which may or may not be relevant:
    - My 4.3.4 was on a tethered jailbreak
    - My iOS 5 is pwned and jailbroken, although I still have the original file.
    - My computer is running Snow Leopard 10.6.8, although I may have updated to Lion by the time this discussion has finished.
    Hope you can help!
    Thanks in advance,
    SvenFjord

Very common with iPod touch jailbreaks. The only way to fix it is to un-jailbreak it. There is something either wrong with the ipsw file or the jailbreaking tool. If you REALLY still want to ruin your ipod, I recommend redn0w. Just BEWARE that it will slow down your ipod by about 50%, and that you will experiance USB issues if jailbreaking iOS 5.0.1.

  • Ipod touch won't connect to home wifi?

the wifi was working fine until yesterday and now the connection won't even show up even though it works fine on my laptop. i've tried turning the ipod off and on, i've tried resetting the router, i've tried resetting the network settings on the ipod, still nothing. i can't do the thing where you hold down the power button and the home button because the power button is broke and the home button is almost broken as well. please help!!!

I have the same problem. I tried restart, restore software (even though it is brand new!), reset network settings, restarted modem + router. All my other non-Apple wifi connection are perfectly fine. Just the same message: "UNABLE TO JOIN THE NETWORK".

  • TS1398 My ipod touch will not connect to our wifi all of a sudden. It has worked fine for 6 months and now just has stopped connecting. I have done all the trouble shooting tips available. Any other ideas?

We bought this itouch for our daughter for Christmas (2011), It has worked fine all this time until now. All of a sudden it will not connect to our home wi fi. All the other ipods/iphones/laptops and desktop are connecting fine so I know it is not the router itself. I have tried all the standard troubleshooting tips (forgetting the network and resetting it on the ipod, turning it off an on, plugging it in and updating the software, we even restored it completely from itunes as a new ipod). It lists the network as available but then when you try to connect it just sits there with the little circle icon thing spinning, trying to connect but never does. Please help!

So you also rebooted your router correct?  Does the iPod still connect okay to other networks?

  • New ipod touch won't connect to itunes

My new iPod touch won't connect to itunes on my iMac.  I have several devices already connected to this itunes library, any suggestions?  Thanks.

    See:
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X
You need iTunes 10.5 or later and that requires OSX 10.5.8 or later.

  • IPod Touch won't connect or charge AT ALL.

I can't connect my iPod touch to ANY computer AT ALL. This includes Windows Xp, Vista and an iMac with Leopard. They are all running iTunes 7.6.2. I have tried all protocols I've come by so far none have worked. The iPod simply won't connect.
The iPod turns on when it is plugged in but after the home screen comes up nothing happens. No charging, syncing or any type of connection. iTunes and the OS don't acknowledge any type of USB device, even in the Device Manager. Apparently it tries since it powers up when plugged in but thats the extent of the connection. I haven't found any other persons with a scenario like this, please help.

I know you've tried it with other computers, but have you tried it with a different cable? Also have you tried resetting the Touch while it is connected? (Hold down the sleep and go buttons, ignore the power off screen and let go when you see the Apple logo).
If you get the same results after trying this you need to either make a Genius Bar appointment at your nearest Apple Store or send it in for service: http://www.apple.com/support/oss/

  • My ipod touch won't connect to wifi at home and it use to, it keeps saying my password is wrong

My ipod touch won't connect to wifi at home, it use to work just fine, now it keeps telling me my password is wrong, but it can't be wrong because it is the same one I have always used. I also have an IPad2 that belongs to my daughter and it connects with our wifi at home with no problem.  But, why is my wifi telling me that my password is wrong.  I have tried everything, we have changed the pass word and that did not work.  We have have taken security off of our wifi and my ipod touch give me another message, but it won't connect to my wifi at home.  Please help... b/c the greatest thing for me is to be able to connect to wifi at home.
    thanks

I have even shut down my ipod touch to see if it fixes the lack of wifi connection at home but it keeps telling me my password is wrong.  I can connect everywhere else, but not at home.  Pls help my.. I need to connect at home.  Does it matter if we have othere decives like ipads connected to the same wifi.  Because we have an ipad2 and my ipod and up until 1 week ago, we had very little issues keeping both of our devices connected at home.  Eitherway the ipad2 is still working just fine on our home wifi, but my ipod touch keeps refuseing to accept the password.
Pls help, i am very frustrated and I have tried everything.

Simple question, Do you have the latest iTunes installed in your Mac?

  • TS1398 my ipod touch won't join the wifi network even after entering correct password. it just keeps trying to join but I can't use internet

My home wifi is working for all my other apple devices but my daughter's Ipod Touch won't connect. It recognises the network and attempts to join it as usual but it just keeps 'trying' without actually connecting. Have switched on and off, renewed lease, reset networks etc - basically everything I can think of but no luck. Any help much appreciated.

Try restarting your router, if you are still having problems try resetting your network settings.  Go into your settings>reset then tap reset network settings.

  • My ipod touch won't play on the new docking station I got.

My ipod touch won't play via the new docking station I got for xmas. Wors with a 3.5mm connector but not on the ipod connection itself.   Seems like other ipods and iphones work on it but not mine.  what can I do to fix this?

    - Does your iPOd have iOS 5 and do the other devise have an earlier version?
    - Some users have reported that some docks no longer worked after updating to iOS 5/5.0.1
    - What the dock maunufacturer's support site say about compatibility wth your model iPod and iOS?
