  • I have an iphone5 and no apps can access my camera roll. When i go to privacy settings there is no option to turn it on. How do I get these apps to access my camera roll? I have tried deleting and reinstalling the apps.

I have a new iPhone 5. I am trying to get apps like instagram, facebook etc to upload pictures from my camera roll. When i try to get a picture from the camera roll it instructs me to go to settings - privacy - photos and turn access on. When I do this, there is no option to turn it on. All i get is a screen saying "apps that have requested access to your photos will appear here". NO APPS APPEAR HERE. When I go to instagram I get the message "this app does not have access to your photos. You can enable access in Privacy Settings." I CAN'T enable it in Privacy Settings. I tried deleting the app and reinstalling it and it didnt work. Please help! Much appreciated.

I'm also on iPhone 4, iOS 6, and have exactly the same problem. I've tried resetting privacy settings, turning restrictions on and off, deleting and reinstalling apps. Nothing seems to work. The lists of apps in privacy settings are all empty, except for location services. When using Tweetbot the app is regularly asking for permission to access my twitter account, but even when I allow that, the app doesn't show in privacy settings. When I try to go into the camera roll from the Facebook app, the app tells me I have to allow access to the camera roll from the privacy settings - which I can't do since the app is not listed there.

  • Where in gods name is the homesharing button, I see a little cloud that you cannot click on and tells you what account you have but thats is. There's an option for turning on and off homesharing, but no button to access the actual library of the other PC

Where in god’s name is the homesharing button, I see a little cloud that you cannot click on and tells you what account you have but that's it. There's an option for turning on and off homesharing, but no button to access the actual library of the other PC. On either PCs. Both are logged in and both are registered for homesharing. however because apple keeps updating and moving things around for no reason there appears to be no way of accessing the homsharing button in the latest version of itunes. the website refers to " Once set up, all the libraries from your computers you've enabled Home Sharing on will show up in the SHARED area of iTunes:" well I have searched all over in the recent itunes versions and there is no "shared area" to be found.
Please find the attachment of a screen cap of my itunes.
If anyone can help by telling me where it has been moved to or if it even still exists that would be much appreciated.

  • Option to turn "Menu Bar" on/off no longer works

Have a weird issue as of today.  I've checked multiple Windows 7-IE9, Windows 8-IE10, and also a Windows 8.1-IE11 computers.  On all computers, the option to turn the "Menu Bar" on or off no longer works!
In fact, if you 'right click' on a blank area at the top of IE, the "Menu Bar" item no longer shows up in the popup menu!  On one of the computers the Menu Bar in IE had previously been enabled.  So I selected "View" - "Toolbars"
    - "Menu Bar" and it does nothing.  It doesn't turn off/on the menu bar.
It's like the Menu Bar option is completely fubar as of today.  I had worked last week on a different computer and this WAS working.
Has anyone else run into this or are you currently seeing this?

    Hi,
Navigate to Local Group Policy Editor, find User Configuration>Administrative Templates>Windows Components> Internet Explorer> Turn on menu bar by the default, and check if you have disabled it.
If you enable this policy setting, the menu bar will appear in Internet Explorer by default and the users cannot turn it off.

  • 13-inch, Late 2011 macbook pro i7 does not have option to turn mirroring on

In the display preferences there is no option to turn mirroring if available, can anyone help.
I can stream through itunes so I know my apple TV is accessible.
    Can anyone help?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
AirPlay Mirroring requires a second-generation Apple TV or later, OS X 10.8 or better and is supported on the following Mac models: iMac (Mid 2011 or newer), Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer), MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer), and MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer).
if your profile is correct, you need to update your operating system.

  • Hello My ipads Power button is not working properly when I press it once it shows option to turn off instead of locking and some other display problems like it suddenly lockes down or display disappears ...Please help. Thank You

    Thanks for that information!
I'm sure I will be calling AppleCare, but the problem is, they charge for the phone calls don't they? Because I don't have money to be spending to be on the phone with a support service.
In other things, it seemed like the only time my MacBook was working was when I had Snow Leopard without the 10.6.8 update download that was supposed to be done to prepare for OS X Lion.
When I look at the information of my HD it says that I have 10.6.8 but that was the install that it claimed to have failed and caused me to restart resulting in all of the repeated problems.
Also, because my computer is currently down, and I've lost all files how would that effect the use of my iPhone? Because if it doesn't get fixed by the time OS 5 is released, how would I be able to upgrade?!

  • My phone doesn't give me the option to turn mirroring on when trying to connect to apple tv. As far as I can see everything is updated and the AirPlay is turned on. Be grateful if anyone knows what's wrong.

Trax and kirt are correct. I'm pretty good with technology, being an engineer and all, and I can tell you for a fact that this 'swoosh' sound (triggered by a successfully sent SMS) can NOT be disabled from ANY menu in iOS 5. The ONLY way to disable it is to flip the silent switch on the left hand side of the phone. This is extremely annoying for some people (like trax, kirt, and myself). For what we pay for Apple products and, in particular, this phone, we simply didn't expect to have to deal with such annoyances. That's why we're Mac users. Please fix this bug.
I feel like I shouldn't have to say this but it bears repeating: turning off message sounds from the 'sounds' menu does not fix his problem. It still emits the swoosh noise. Whoever suggested this clearly didn't try it because it obviously doesn't work. Who posts a solution to a problem without knowing for a fact that their solution is correct? I find that response condescending because he writer is assuming we're not smart enough to have tried it. In reality, it's vice versa.

  • No option to turn on match on 5s

I have an iPhone 5s on iOs 7.1, I subscribed to Match and the subscription went through. Did the Match setup on my PC, no problems. Trying to turn it on on the phone, but when I go settings>Music there is no option to turn it on and there is still a link to subscribe to match on it. Really frustrating! Help!

Log out of the iTunes Store on the iPhone, turn the device off then back on and sign back in. That usually clears that up.

  • No option to turn on cellular calls

I have upgraded to Yosemite and have iOS 8 on my iPhone 5S.
The option for iPhone cellular calls has been turn on my iPhone, but when i go to FaceTime > Preferences there is no option to turn on cellular calls like man of the instructions guide state.
Is there something that i need to do to have this option appear on my FaceTime?

I have experienced issues relating to the continuity feature that allows one to make cellular calls from an iPad or Macbook. Basically I was no longer able to make/receive iPhone calls from my iPad or Macbook. There is usually an option in settings/facetime on my iPhone 6 running iOS8.2 for iPhone cellular calls. This needs to be switched on. There is usually also an option on my late 2013 high spec Macbook running Yosemite (in FaceTime preferences) for the same thing - this also needs to be switched on. These iPhone cellular options totally disappeared from the menu systems when I was playing around with 2 step verification and signing in and out of FaceTime etc. My devices were definitely on the same wifi network. I phoned Applecare who suggested a couple of options though were unable to resolve the problem, they suggested it was a Carrier issue which it certainly was not. Applecare made an appointment for me at my local Apple Store. Basically the cellular options re-appeared on my Mac and iPad after switching off 2 step authentication, logging out of Facetime, iMessages and iCloud on ALL devices and logging back into all using my basic apple ID. I have no idea whether all of that was necessary, but it worked. I am now in the process of returning to 2 step verification. Hopefully it will continue to work....
I can now make/receive cellular calls from my Macbook and iPad.
I also learnt that the iPhone and Macbook are not designed to link to each other via Bluetooth. I had thought there may have been some hardware issue when mine would not connect - apparently not.

  • My App Store is deleted and the option to turn it back on in restrictions is grayed out. How do I get the App Store back?

If a reset didn;t work, then you can try restoring your iPad. Don't restore from a back up because if there is a glitch with restrictions, it will just set that option up again. Of if you are sure you have a backup created before you changed restrictions settings, then you can back up from that.

  • Have option to turn off text message pop up window.

I would like to see the IPhone enhanced to allow the option to turn the text message pop up window on or off.
There are times when I don't want my text message to pop up for privacy reasons; such as if someone else is using my phone or I have my phone out and people sitting nearby and can read the message. Since the ring tone is so poor on the phone, when I am out I have to put my phone on the table so I can hear it ring.
With the text message pop up window turned off, I would still like to hear the alert sound (separate feature) and have the number display by SMS box as it currently does.
This is a very important privacy issue and I appreciate Apple's consideration on this very important enhancement. I called Apple Customer Support and they told me to post my request here for consideration.
