TS1398 Wifi connection

Hi, my ipad is suddenly stopped being connected to wifi - don't know why can't figure out any changes. Other computers ie this one my laptop are connected - so what's going on? Checked out the manual and couldn't figure it out - Help please!

1. Turn router off for 30 seconds and on again, this will refresh the IP address of the iPad.
2. Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
3. Try changing router security e.g. WEP/WPA/WPA2
4. Have you updated router firmware?

  • TS1398 wifi connected but no internet in iphone5!

    Hi,
In my iPhnoe5 i'm already connected to wifi, but the wireless icon doesnt appear on the top of the screen eithre cannot access the internet!
I tried every solution in the troubleshooting section but no success.
    thanks,

If you have tried every solution you must have a hardware problem. As the phone is in warranty take it to an Apple store for replacement.
Before you do that, and if the problem is only with your home network and the phone works on other WiFi networks, you might want to try rebooting your router by removing all power from it for 15 seconds or so. And if that doesn't resolve it try changing channels on the router. And check the router's settings for MAC filtering. If it is enabled your phone's WiFi address must be listed on the "allowed" settings. Also check if your router has a limit to the number of devices that can connect simultaneously.
The way to identify router issues: After attempting to connect go to Settings/WiFi and tap the ">" to the right of the network name. If the IP address begins 169.254 this means that your router is not responding to the phone, so you need to troubleshoot the router (even if other devices connect and work).

  • TS1398 wifi connects then disconnects any solutions?

I keep losing my internet connection on my iPad 1 and iPad 3.  It'll connect and disconnect at will.  This has got worse since I got iCloud.  I've tried resetting the wifi and restore.

    Hi bobmyron,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it sounds like the Mac will connect and disconnect from two different networks. I would recommend that you read these articles, they may be helpful in troubleshooting your issue.

  • TS1398 Wifi connection problems

My iPad periodically tells me I'm not connected to  the Internet even when I am connected to wifi with full signal strength. I tried resetting network setting but that didn't help. Anyone have any ideas? .

    Hello, mrsgarvick.
Thank you for the question.  Wi-Fi can be tricky as it requires certain settings and updates for optimized device connectivity.  Below, I have included the recommended settings article.  If the wireless router or modem that you use is provided by your Internet service provider, please contact them to make the changes.

Since upgrading to ios6, all the family's apple devices (new ipad, 2 iphone4 & itouch) are having difficulty reconnecting to the home hub wifi network. I.e, every time the lock screen comes on, the wifi connection is lost when you reopen the device and we have to reconnect through settings. This appears to be an ios6 software issue.
Is there a solution to this wifi connection issue or do we wait for a software fix?
I'd hate to think Apple is going down the Microsoft path, of passing untested software onto the user. What ever happened to Regression Testing, to ensure the existing functionality remains intact?
I bought into the Apple dream, because it was intuitive, reliable & enjoyable to use, all the things that Microsoft windows isn't.
Other issues we are experiencing are, Games are stuttering and the kids really miss the old YouTube app.
Please Mr Browett, sort these issues out.

YouTube is not now part of iOS 6.
However, you can go to the App Store and do a search using YouTube. You can download several YouTube apps: YouTube (for the iPhone, a IPad app is in work), several users  like Jasmine and YouPlayer.

  • TS1398 Why can't i get a good wifi connection after upgrading my my ipad2 IOS 5.1.1 to 6.0? I always need to turn it OFF then ON just to have a connection. But after a few minutes i need to do it again. Help me please. Thank you

When i upgraded my IOS. I always find it hard to continue my search in internet. I need to turn off the wifi connection then on it after wards even though using the laptops and other mobile phone with wifi have a very good signal. Just like this message, i need to off it then turn it on again.

    Try:
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on your router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
