TS1424 Cannot connect to iTunes app updates

I'm trying to update my apps on my iPad and I get the error Cannot connect to iTunes .  Please help

You can re-download content purchased from the app store using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.
You can re-download content purchased from the app store using the purchased option which is revealed by tapping the updates option at the bottom of the screen of the App store app on your iOS device.
If the problem re-occurs, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History using your computer.

  • I cannot connect to ITunes after updating to IOS 7.0.2,cannot update my apps nor download new apps. When I tap the quick test for IOS diagnostics it says it cannot verify the ticket number.

After updating to IOS 7.0.2 in my Ipad mini I cannot update my apps nor download new apps . It says "cannot connect to ITunes. " it's been almost 3 wks now. I have tried resetting it  and trying other options like changing the DNS to just 8.8.8 etc but to no avail. I try to run the IOS diagnostics but it couldn't verify my ticket number. Everytime I open my mail it cannot identify server identity " Apple.imap.yahoo.com." But I just clicked "continue" anyway so I could get my mail.

    (A) Reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.
    (B) Reset all settings
    Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings
Note: Data will not be affected but settings will be reset.

  • TS1424 cannot connect to itunes store

As of this morning (Thursday, November 15, 2012), neither my iPhone4S nor my iPad2 (both running latest OS scrupulously maintained) can connect to the iTunes store. They were able to download updates yesterday. I'm not sure I understand how they may detect that updates are available without being to connect. Nor do I understand how they may be able to display "purchased apps which are not downloaded", featured apps, and all the rest. Attempted download of updates fails with "Cannot connect to iTunes store." The "help" files on the Apple website are particularly not helpful on this issue. The devices are fully functional, including having access to the internet and being fully powered, in all other respects. I'm at a loss for a solution.

I tried on my MBP and got a 500. This is a "server error", not client side. So it really irks me that Apple nowhere in the help files (that I saw) mentions the "remote" possibility that it's the fault of *their* server(s) instead of the client machine. I reckon I'll sit tight and try again later.

  • TS1424 Cannot connect to itunes store via ipad

Hi guys. I Try to open itunes in my ipad2, but a massege popup "cannot connect to itunes store" ... What should i do?

Ok, I found a solution that worked for me when trying to connect to the iTunes store by tapping the "update" button in the "App Store" app on my iPad 2. Before the solution was implemented I'd always get the error message "cannot connect to iTunes store". Once the solution was implemented I now can connect to iTunes using the "update" button in the "App Store" app and I get the normal message "All apps are up to date". The solution is this:  go into Settings, then General, then scroll to the bottom where it says Date and Time. Tap Date and Time and then turn OFF Set Automatically. When you do that a new option will be added that says Set Date and Time. Tap it. You'll now get a drop down feature. Set the Date AHEAD 2 YEARS. The Time you can leave alone.
Once you do that you might get a bunch of reminders and messages that your apps and stuff haven't been updated in two years. Click cancel or close on each of those messages or reminders. Now go back into Settings, General, Date and Time, and turn Set Automatically back to ON. Reboot your iPad. Open the App Store app again and go to the Update button. It might ask you to log back in to your iTunes account. It should now work. If not, close the App Store app completely and open again and try the update button. Hope this helps.

  • Cannot connect to itunes since update to ios6

I upgraded to ios 6 and have read through all the issues everyone is having just like mine, however I have more issues.
as my subject says I cannot connect to itunes, I have tired the jump ahead a year, and it loaded the featured and genius and charts, but i can not see my purchased or updates.
in Safari there are a number of sites that will not load such as barnes and noble.  I had the nook app on my ipad 2 and was reading a book when suddenly it quit and the book flat out dissapeared. i decided to reinstall that but I can not get back into barnes and noble or onto the itunes to reinstall the app to see if it can work.  at this point my ipad 2 is currently a nice paper wieght and could soon become a frisbie.  I want it to work, or I want to go back a step.  I need to upgrade my Imac to the newest one, because currently i cant upgrade the apps i have there, and quite frankly im afraid that it will be yet another headache with things not working.  I love apple but this is getting to be to much.  it was supposed to be less of a headache than pc. (right?)
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do, other than what has already been written,
    I also did the reset.
I forgot my network and reset it.
one of my mail apps is not updating, i got rid of that, brought it back and its still not working
my wifi is perfect. i just need help.
    thank you

    Go to Settings -> WiFi
Touch the blue arrow to the right of your network name. This will bring up the network details.
To the value in the DNS field add the text: ,8.8.8.8
If you are using DHCP this action may need to be redone if a new IP address is assigned.
Note that this should not be necessary. The value in this field should be the Local network address of your router - something like 192.168.1.1. Normally your router should pass any DNS requests to the DNS server your ISP provides. If you are having DNS problems your ISP should correct this.
FYI a DNS server translates symbolic network addresses like www.apple.com to numeric IP addresses. You can see that if this isn't working correctly that you will have problems getting to anywhere on the Internet.

  • Cannot connect to iTunes for updates

For the past 2 days, I have been unable to update my apps on my iPhone 4S running 5.1.1. The entire app store works fine except when I select the "Updates" tab, I get a "Cannot connect to iTunes store" message only when I select the "Updates" tab. I can still search for and download new apps. If I know an app has an update, I can search for it and download it individually and download it successfully, but I cannot view app updates via the tab. I have already tried:
    1. Force closing the app
    2. Reboot
    3. Logging out, rebooting, logging back in
    4. Changing the date
The last option was taken from this thread (https://discussions.apple.com/message/19372146#19372146) which had a similar issue for an iPad, however, none of those suggestions worked.
    Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Same issue here. I've tried literally everything including all the steps (except #6) here: http://hints.binaryage.com/cannot-connect-to-itunes-store-on-iphone/
Surely this is an Apple bug. Anyone have any other ideas of how to get this to work?
Again, this only occurs when attempting to view updates in the App Store. Everything else works as @cpels7 mentioned above.

  • TS1424 Cannot connect to iTunes - fromhome

I have an iPad 3 and a 4S iPhone but i am unable to connect the iPad to iTunes at home via btinternet wifi (the message is 'Cannot connect to iTunes Store'). It works fine in the Apple store so they cant help! My iPhone connects with no problem and my iPad used to work until a couple of weeks ago.
I've tried, turning off and on iPad and server and the network extender we have, re setting passwords. The 8.8.8.8 fix, changing the date,  but nothing works ...
    Please help if you can

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 n above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

  • IPhone 3GS cannot connect to iTunes app

I got the Mountain Lion installed on my MacBook and now I cannot connect my iPhone 3GS to it, and when I try the iPad it does not work either... I tried to reset the settings on the phone, but since the iCloud was acting very weird I never used it properly and the wire connection does not work - therefore I cannot use my phone now. Can you please help me somehow??
    Thank you!

Check the iPhone discussion and you will find dizens of identical posts to this. The most common suggestions are
    Reaset the date
    Settings > General > Date & Time
    Turn "Set Automatically" OFF
Set Date & Time to the year 2013
    Relaunch Passbook
When you have done this and downloaded the apps to back to Settings > General > Date & Time > Set Automatically to ON.
    Try using Cellular connection
    Settings > General > Cellular
Use Cellular Data for... iTunes ON
Use Cellular Data for.. Passbook Updates ON
Wait until Apple gets things sorted out on the App Store or the unexpectedly heavy load abates
Neither of the first two options worked for me so I am waiting somewhat impatiently for Apple to sort it out.

  • Cannot connect to itunes after update , please fix it asap !!!

my account cannot connect to apps store since i update to ios8.2 .
    pls fix it asap !!!

As has been reported in numerous posts in these forums it's a widespread problem, which doesn't appear to be related to any security or other updates. Evidently there is an issue with Apple's servers and it's a question of waiting for them to fix it.
