TS1424 corrupted file downloading iTunes purchase

I was downloading a purchase from the iTunes store and one of the songs stopped downloading in the middle with the error message that the song was corrupted. The same thing happened after following the direction to "Check for Available Downloads."
Any thoughts?

Try deleting the problematic tune (electing to remove original file if/when prompted) and then re-downloading the file from the iTunes store.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option at the bottom of the screen of the iTunes app on your iOS device.
If the problem re-occurs, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History using your computer.

I understand the confusion. Those tracks are royalty free to the owner of the tracks, yes. The terms of use of the iTunes Store still state, though, that all purchases are for your own personal use and cannot be used commercially:
    USAGE RULES
    1. You shall be authorized to use iTunes Products only for personal, noncommercial use.
They're probably fine for presentations in a class or to a group at your company, but you probably could not post the presentation or a video using these tracks on a public site. I'm no lawyer, though, to legally define what would and would not constitute "noncommercial". It's probably best to just buy your tracks directly from one of these sites of royalty-free music. Then the use license should be completely clear.
    Regards.

  • I've lost all my music since my last computer died. How do I get that music back without having to pay for it? I read somewhere that there is a "form to request to download iTunes purchases again", is this true?

All of my music is missing from iTunes since my last computer died and had to get a new one.  How do I get that music back without having to pay for it again?  I've read somewhere there is a "form to request to download iTunes purchases again", is this true?

Media should be included with the backup of the computer that all users should be creating on a regular basis as part of basic computer/data maintenance.
In the event that you do not have a backup (stop being lazy.... keep backups of YOUR data and other important files)
If you are in the US and running iTunes 10.3 or later, it is possible to redownload music via iCloud from purchased history.
If you are not in the US or for some reason cannot run iTunes 10.3 or later, contact iTunes customer support and ask very nicely for the opportunity to redownload the content.  They are not required to provide this opportunity.
It is also possible to transfer content from an iDevice that was purchased via iTunes.  On the new computer, sign into the iTunes account, authorize the computer, connect the device then select File > Transfer Purchases.
The simplest method of all is to transfer or copy the media (and other important files) from the old computer or the backup of the old computer.  Typing "move itunes library" into the search bar here or into google will reveal step by step instructions on how to do this.

  • Re-downloading iTunes purchases once deleted from your hard drive

OK - any help will be greatly appreciated.
I work abroad a lot and download iTunes purchases to watch while away.  However, the files take up a lot of space on my MacBook Air, so, once watched, I've deleted them from my hard drive to free up space once I'm home.
Now, when I want to see them again, I go into iTunes, each episode has an exclamation point on the left hand side, no cloud icon to be seen, and when I click on it, I get the message:
The TV show could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?
It can't be located on my computer because I deleted it from my hard drive to free up space.
So why can't I just re-download it from iTunes - I have, after all, paid for it?
    Many thanks.

    Good day Jane,
As you surmise, the exclamation point symbol next to the song in iTunes means that iTunes can not find the file containing the video. See this article -
iTunes 12 for Mac: Symbols used in iTunes
In order to download the content again you will need to delete it from iTunes before downloading again. To delete the song select it in your music and use the Delete key. See this article -
iTunes 12 for Mac: Delete songs, playlists, or other items
Once the video is no longer in your iTunes library, you can download it again using the steps in this article. Note that this assumes that the item is still available in iTunes in your location. Items that have been removed from the store will not be available -

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Downloading iTunes Purchased Music to New PC

I recently have acquired a new PC with Vista Home Premium as OS (My XP PC's motherboard gave up the ghost).
Is it possible to re-download iTunes purchases onto my new machine?
I have searched the iTunes site but can find no way of linking previous purchases to my new machine.
Your help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks and regards

You can download only one time.
Copy the song files from your other PC to the new one.

  • Still can't download iTunes purchases, please help! incorrectly says "network connection timed out"

I've been trying for 4 days to download purchased media from iTunes and I keep getting this error message "The network connection timed out." I assure you my internet connection works perfectly.
Not sure if this is relevant, but this error spontaneously happened after my most recent purchase on the night of 2/10. I was able to download some iTunes extras right before I made the most recent HD movie purchase, and as soon as I tried to download that, nada!
Here's what I've already tried, but has NOT worked:
    -re-opening iTunes
    -restarting computer (several times)
    -deleting tmp files
    -disabling antivirus ware & firewalls
    -deleting & re-installing iTunes
If anyone has any other ideas to help me out, I'm all ears!
    Thanks!
    E

    hi, thanks for your response!
please excuse my ignorance, but do you mean log into my iTunes at an apple store & download my purchases onto a flash? I wasn't aware I could do that...

  • Is there a way to search for damaged/corrupt files in itunes?

    Hi all,
I have several itunes-purchased files that became damaged when a hard drive of mine went on the fritz a few months ago.  I managed to get most of my files transferred to a new hard drive, but I keep running across songs that are corrupt.  The way I know they are corrupt is they just won't play, even though the file shows up in my library no problem.
My library is several thousand songs.  Is there any way to test for corrupt songs without going song-by-song manually?

Sorry, but I don't know what it is you are trying to accomplish and how a spreadsheet program would be related to an iTunes issue. Can you please explain in more detail what it is you're trying to do? If your command of the English language is a barrier for you, try posting in your native language and someone who is fluent in that language may be able to help.
    Regards.

  • Corrupt file downloading latest ios update

I tried downloading the latest ios7 for my ipad and iphone and am getting an error message for a corrupt file.  same when I do the internet download for my iphone.  Any ideas?

No, that is not normal at all. First try a reset and see if the update finishes. I have my doubts, but it will not hurt to try. Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen again, then let go of the buttons.
IF that doesn't jog the update into completing, you will have to restore your iPad using iTunes and you will need to use recovery mode.
If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  • Error 450 whenever I attempt to download iTunes purchase!!!

When I purchase an item on iTunes and it goes to the "downloads" folder, sometimes it will stop downloading and says that it has encountered error 450.
I'm losing money and I can never tell which songs will download and which will fail.
Can someone please tell me what the error means, how to fix it, and/or any way to download said purchases?
I've already sent a complaint to iTunes and haven't received any information.
    Please help!!

These are the instructions I received from Apple. Even though the IP addresses were not getting blocked by parental controls I still entered them into my daughters "allowed" list and this solved the problem. I did not have to go all the way to step 3. However I did step 2 first and this did not fix the problem until I took care of the parental controls suggestion. Good luck
    Step1)
Error 450 is usually associated with the Parental Controls in Windows Vista. To download purchases from the iTunes Store, you will need to add the following Internet addresses to your Parental Control's safe list:
    http://www.apple.com
    http://itunes.apple.com
    http://ax.itunes.apple.com
If you require assistance adding these addresses to your Parental Control's safe list, please contact Microsoft or your computer's manufacturer.
After adding these addresses to your Parental Controls safe list, you should be able to download your purchases by choosing Check for Available Downloads from the Store menu in iTunes.
    Step 2)
If you still are unable to download your purchases, please make sure you're using the latest version of iTunes, which is available free of charge:
    http://www.itunes.com/download
Then, follow these instructions to use Network Diagnostics:
    1) Open iTunes.
    2) Choose Diagnostics from the Help menu at the top.
    3) Select Network Diagnostics and click Run. A report will show your Network Interface Status, your Internet Connection Status, and your iTunes Store Connection Status.
    Step 3)
Using Network Diagnostics helps you to locate the issue that is preventing you from downloading your purchases. If not, please respond to customer support email with the following:
    - The results provided by Network Diagnostics
    - The type of Internet connection you use, such as dial-up, cable modem, DSL, or corporate network
    - The name of your Internet service provider (ISP)
    - The name of any firewall, antivirus, or security software installed on your computer

  • Re-Downloading iTunes Purchases

After switching to Windows 7. I realised I backed up all of my iTunes purchases, except 1 season of a TV show. Is there ANY way for me to re-download them, or plead my case to Apple!??
Thank you in advance for any help

If you didn't make a back-up of your music/movie purchases to restore from then I'm sorry to say that the policy on lost purchases is that you have to pay to download them again: iTunes Store: Purchased content can be downloaded only once
If you have an iPod that still has any of your purchases on it you'll find details in this article on how to transfer them to the computer: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
Purchased applications can be downloaded over again, see this article for details: How to redownload purchased applications from the App Store
Failing this, you could try contacting iTunes Store Customer Service and you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download. There have been occasional reports in the iTunes forum of this happening, however just be aware that they are not under any obligation to do so. If you click on this link it'll take you to the support/contact page: Customer Service - iTunes Store Support

  • I can't download itunes purchased music from my library to my 4th generation nano ipod.

I can't download my itunes purchased music from my library to my 4th generation nano ipod.

An iPod Touch is not a backup/storage device. You should have been maintaining a backup of your personal data on an external HDD using Time Machine or other backup software of your choice.
However, there are ways to "recover" the music:
Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device
Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive
Once you have recovered the music I strongly suggest you purchase an external HDD and start using Time Machine to keep a backup of your personal data.

    g c,
I attended two schools that had cougs as mascots.  In fact, I remember when WSU had a live cougar housed on Stadium Way.  Graduated from Pullman High and live in the county.
I went to the website - megavideo - and saw a lot of pop-up messages and talk about downloading to a PC.  If it was working, the next question will be "do you have a backup of your computer or 'Time Machine' to take you back to a prior state on your hard drive?"
I saw one link that wanted to download a download manager, one that was an .exe file that will only run on a PC, one that was removed for copywrite infringement, and another link that was seized by the department of homeland security, etc.

They have a link to contact them.  Have you tried emailing them with your question?  The site left me more confused than convinced to join.
