In Messages on the Mac do you have the Preferences > Messages section set to "Save History when Conversations are Closed" ?
This will store all IMs and iMessages in ~/Library/Messages/Archive.
Use the Finder > Go Menu > Go to Folder and type that path into the Dialogue box that appears. (~/Library/Messages/Archive).
They are stored in dated folders so some guessing/trail and error will be needed.
You may find that if this was an iMessage and you send the person a new message that the whole History with that Contact since you installed Mountain Lion/Started Messages may appear and that it is scrollable the closer you get to the "top" and the top may keep moving until all is on show.

I suspect it's background overhead used by TM leftover from this disk's TM days. Whatever it is, I don't know that there's a way to access it. To get rid of it, format the disk. -
Okay. so i recently bought a Black Sabbath "Paranoid" that was covered by Avenged Sevenfold. I found the song in the "Various Artists" section of the artist category. Is there anyway i can put that song in Avenged Sevenfold's list of songs and album's in the "Artist" category? Btw, i am on a Windows 8 laptop, so idk if that'll be diferent or not. What is of more concern than the cosmetic "chip missing" is the likelihood that some internal components are damaged.
You should take it to an Authorized Apple Service Center for an evaluation. -
Yesterday I changed my password for my iphone 4 and forgot it so I had to reset setting in iTunes but now my iphone thinks it is my ipod and although the 3G sin is showing, whenever I try to use 3G, it comes up with "cellular data is not enabled on this device" not sure what to do? Try a reset on the phone. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. After the phone restarts, see if that will work. You say it thinks it is your iPod, did you restore the phone to a backup from the iPod? The reset should work.

Last night I decided that I would go and update my ipod for the first time to the latest version of the system. I completely forgot that I still had not backed up any of my purchased music and apps and of course when the update was finished, I found that all my music and apps had been erased. Contacts are not included in the iCloud backup. Instead they are synced to your iCloud account. You can check on icloud.com from your computer to see if the contacts is there. If it isn't, you won't be able to restore it from iCloud. (Unfortunately, there's a good chance it's gone since when you delete a contact from your phone whie syncing contacts with iCloud, it is deleted from your iCloud account too.)

You can try putting it into Disk Mode

If that works, you can see if the computer will recognize it when connected, either in iTunes or by the system.
NOTE: You can also try putting it into Disk Mode WHILE it is already connected to the computer.
If the iPod is recognized, you may be able to use one of the third-party methods or utilities to transfer song files from iPod to computer. You can do a Google search on something like "ipod transfer" to get some links (add "mac" to the search if your computer is a Mac).
Once the song files are on your computer, add them to that computer's iTunes library, then sync it to the new iPod. -

If you mean that Find My Phone is asking for a password to a different Apple ID to your current Apple IDand that ID is a previous version of your current ID, not an entirely different one.
This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device.
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

You have two basic options. One is to use a commercial screen recording app with access to system audio built into the app and the other is to add a system extension like SoundFlower that allows the QT X screen recorder to access/record the system audio. I use the former so I am not that familiar with SoundFlower but there should be several posts to this forum covering this topic. -

Check from your recycle bin.
Usually when you delete a song from iTunes, a popup window will ask whether you want to move the file to recycle bin or keep the file. So it's either still in your PC or Recycle bin. -

Placing your device into recovery mode:

1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the other end
of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the
red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake
and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake
and Home buttons.
3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device.
The device should turn on. Note: If you see the screen pictured below, let the device
charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some charge, and then
start with step 2 again.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:
