    New podcasts weren't downloading.
    I thought it was for all my subscriptions, but it turned out to be just the one. (Or two).
    It took a little while to notice, but it turned out the the podcast providers, a radio station had changed the URL address for the podcast. (Just one word changed).
    *I could not figure out how to update the old podcast subsrciption to the new address.*
    *is it possible?*
    Meanwhile; I subscribed again, which created a new entry under the same name as the old subscription but with the new address, and the podcast downloads for that subscription are running again.

    I've got the old ipod Touch and everytime i want to download something it will say i need an update!! Ive tried nearly everything don't know how to make it work

    If you're trying to run an app that requires a newer version of iOS, you may be out of luck. A 1st-generation iPod touch can only run up through iOS 3.1.3, and the 2nd-generation model only up through iOS 4.2.1. If you have one of those models and are trying to run an app that requires iOS 4.3 or later, you will not be able to do so.
    If you're not sure of your model, see:

  • I have the old ipod touch without the camera and i received a new one with camera as a gift how do I transfer eveything to new ipod from old?

    I have the old ipod touch(without camera) and I received the new one (with camera) as a gift. How do I transfer everything from old one to new one?

    Make one final USB sync with the old iPod. The sync includes a backup. Then connect the new iPod to the same computer/iTunes library and restore from the backup of the old iPOd. All the synced media like apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media is not included in the backup that iTunes makes. For how to restore see:

    These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
    Method 1
    Backup the library with this User Tip.
    Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
    Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
    Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
    Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
    Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
    I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
    Note if you have iOS devices and haven't moved your contacts and calendar items across then you should create one dummy entry of each in your new profile and iTunes should  merge the existing data from the device.
    If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
    Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library or a backup then then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.

  • How to delete the old Apple ID to prevent continuing access it when updating Apps if I have changed the Apple ID in my iPad and iPhone?

    I have changed my Apple ID in my iPhone 4S and iPad, but when I update my Adds on them, they prompt me to enter the old Apple ID and password.  I have already created the new Apple ID.  How can I delete the old Apple ID on them?

    If you created a new id instead of updating the old one then any apps etc that you bought/downloaded with the old id will still be tied to that old id, and they can't be copied or transferred to a new one - so only that old id can download updates to its apps.
    If you updated the old id then try logging out of the account on the iPad by tapping on the id in Settings > Store and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' the account on the iPad.

    hello friends i have a problem in my ipod touch 3g it has 4.2.1 version of software but it doesnot supports any apps so how to update the ios 5 or more than this please anybody help me..i am in trouble.

    I suspect you really have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1.
    Identifying iPod models
    iPod touch (3rd generation)
    iPod touch (3rd generation) features a 3.5-inch (diagonal) widescreen multi-touch display and 32 GB or 64 GB flash drive. You can browse the web with Safari and watch YouTube videos with Wi-Fi. You can also search, preview, and buy songs from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store on iPod touch.
    The iPod touch (3rd generation) can be distinguished from iPod touch (2nd generation) by looking at the back of the device. In the text below the engraving, look for the model number. iPod touch (2nd generation) is model A1288, and iPod touch (3rd generation) is model A1318.
    Otherwise connect to yor computer and update via iTunes. Yo need iTunes 10 or later on the computer.

    Hi msclaude,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!  I'm not sure from your post what steps you have tried, but it sounds like you may need to use recovery mode to address the issue with your unresponsive iPod touch.
    If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201263
    If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
    You can put your iOS device into recovery mode, then restore it using iTunes.
    Use recovery mode
    You might need to use recovery mode to restore your device in these cases:
    iTunes doesn't recognize your device or says it's in recovery mode.
    You see the Apple logo onscreen for several minutes with no progress bar.
    You see the Connect to iTunes screen.
    Learn what to do if you see the progress bar onscreen for several minutes.
    To put your device into recovery mode, follow these steps:
    Turn off your device and leave it off.
    Plug in your device's USB cable to a computer with iTunes.
    Hold down the Home button on your device as you connect the USB cable. Keep holding down the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
    When you see this screen, release the Home button. If you don't see this screen, try steps 1 through 3 again.
    When your device is connected, iTunes will open. You'll see a message saying that iTunes has detected an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch in recovery mode.
    Use iTunes to restore your device. Restoring in recovery mode will erase your device. If you previously synced with iTunes or iCloud, you might be able to restore from your backup.Get more help
    Learn what to do if you don't see your device in iTunes for OS X, or in iTunes for Windows.
    If you put your device into recovery mode by mistake, restart it. Or you can wait 15 minutes and your device will exit recovery mode by itself.
    I hope this information helps ....

  • Can you transfer pictures from an old ipod touch to a new ipod touch without having the old ipod touch or the photos in Iphoto?

    I somewhat recently got a new ipod touch after my screen cracked and the people at an Apple store said it would be cheaper to buy a new device completely.  I followed everything they said about backing up my old device and when I went to pick up the new one, the store took the old one away.
    Up until just a few days ago I did not realize Iphoto could hold pictures from your ipods.  Mine never did it automatically, nor did anything ever seem to have the option to do.  It just so happened that two days ago I was browsing the web when I noticed a website gave instructions on how to transfer photos.  So I tried it and it worked for my new ipod while all the new photos.
    But I was wondering if I could somehow get the old photos back from Itunes or my computer somewhere and transfer them into Iphoto or my new device.  I was hoping that maybe if I could "back up" my old stuff onto my new ipod for a few moments it would show I have the old photos and I could transfer them into Iphoto and then restore the ipod touch back to what I have it currently.
    If it helps, I'm pretty sure the old ipod touch I had was a 3gen as my new one I noticed was skinnier.  As I said, I do not have the old touch anymore but I have the data in Devices on my Itunes if that makes a difference.  Both my data for my old one and new one are in the Devices section of Itunes.
    Thanks,
    Dragonhatchling

    Restore the new iPod from the backup of the old iPod:
    How to restore from a backup
    To restore information from a backup, use one of the following methods after connecting your iOS device to the computer with which you normally sync:

    Can't back up my Iphone5 to my macbook pro, it tells me it may be corrupted, also I don't know how to delete the old backup to redo it

    Hi Caveman337,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!  The resource below will explain how to delete an old iTunes backup.  Before you do this, I would suggest creating an iCloud backup of your iPhone.
    Back up and restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch using iCloud or iTunes - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203977
    Back up using iCloud
    If you're using iCloud, it can automatically back up your content. Use these steps to turn on iCloud Backup:
    Tap Settings > iCloud > Backup. If you're using iOS 7 or earlier, tap Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup.
    Tap iCloud Backup to turn it on.
    Tap Back Up Now.
    After you turn on iCloud Backup, iCloud will back up your content automatically. You can return to this screen to see when the last back up happened.
    Create and delete iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch backups in iTunes - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/ht4946
    Where your backups are stored
    The folder where your backup data is stored depends on your computer's operating system. Make sure the backup folder is included in your data-backup routine. iTunes places the backup files in these places:
    Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
    The "~" represents your Home folder. If you don't see Library in your Home folder, hold Option and click the Go menu.
    Delete a backup
    If you want to delete a backup created by iTunes:
    Open iTunes Preferences:
    Mac: Choose iTunes > Preferences.
    Windows: Choose Edit > Preferences. Learn how to turn on menus in Windows 7 and 8.
    Click Devices. (The iOS device doesn't need to be connected.)
    iTunes will show the phone number, International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number, and serial number of the backed up iPhone when you position your mouse pointer over a backup. (Only the serial number will be shown for iPad and iPod touch). You can use this to find the backup you want to delete.
    Select the backup you want to remove.
    Click Delete Backup.
    When prompted, confirm that you want to remove the selected backup by clicking Delete Backup.
    Click OK to close the iTunes Preferences Window.
    Backups that have a date and time stamp in the backup name are copies of backups created by restoring the iOS device. The date and time in the left column are when the restore-from-backup occurred. The date and time in the right column are the last synced date; this shows how current the data is.
    I hope this information helps ....

  • How to update the second JComboBox according selection in first JComboBox??

    I am having a hard time to update the second JcomboBox according to the selection of the first JcomboBox. For example, the content of the first JcomboBox is {city, rent}. When "city" is selected, the content of the second JcomboBox should be set to a number of cities. When "rent" is selected, the content of the second JcomboBox should be set to a range of rent.
    Since I have to detect the selection in actionperformed(), where the JcomboBoxes have been added to a Panel, and my JFrame setContentPane() to this Panel, I don't know how to update the JFrame or the Panel. I can make the old JFrame disappear and a new JFrame appear instead, but this is not what I want. I tried method update(Graphics) and removeAll(), and never made it work.
    I would greatly appreciate if anyone could give me any help.

    Thanks for your response. I fixed the problem in the following clumsy way:
    frame.getContentPane().remove(mainPanel);
    mainPanel.remove(box2);
    if(box1.compareTo("city")==0)
    box2 = new JComboBox(cities);
    else if(box1.compareTo("rent")==0)
         box2 = new JComboBox(rents);
    else if(box1.compareTo("type")==0)
         box2 = new JComboBox(types);
    box2.setBounds(305, 30, 90, 20);
    mainPanel.add(box2);
    frame.getContentPane().add(mainPanel);
    Maybe there is a better way, but I don't know, and I don't understand your suggestion, could you further explain it? Thanks a lot.

  • HT1727 I inherited my iPhone & I don't know how to update the 45 apps already on it

    I inherited my iPhone from my husband so most of the apps are under his old Apple ID/business email account but his email account is no longer accessable since he has recently retired and no longer can use his business account.  I don't know how to update the 45 apps that he purchased that are still on my phone.

    Hi barbsapplesupport!
    Here is a link that can tell you about updating your apps on your iPhone:
    Download and install app updates - App Store - iPhone Basics - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TI133
    It is likely that these apps were purchased under his Apple ID, so in order to update them, you will need to enter his Apple ID and password when prompted. Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!
    Cheers,
