Well you can't fix it without entering a credit card now - or without creating a new Apple ID. If you did not want to use a credit card with your Apple ID, there is a very specific way that you have to create the account. If you don't or didn't follow those steps exactly, you have no choice now but to enter a credit card - or create a new Apple ID without the credit card.
If you create a new Apple ID, you will also need another email address since you have already associated your current email address to the ID that needs a credit card. You also have to sign out of your ID in Settings>iTunes and App Stores before you can create anothe Apple ID.

Was it a genuine email from Apple or a phishing attempt to try and get your account and payment details ? Whether you will be charged will depend if anything was downloaded on your account, and whether or not it was a free item - we are fellow users here on these forums, we won't know if anything has been bought on your account.
The iBooks app is free app, but if you haven't already done so then check to see if anything shows on your account's purchase history : See your purchase history in the iTunes Store.
If a purchase shows there and you didn't make it, and nobody else has access to your account or devices and made it, then try the 'report a problem' page to contact iTunes Support : http://reportaproblem.apple.com

You are saying the phone is locked, but then you are saying there is no provider. The two situations cannot peacefully coexist. Contact Apple and they can tell you if the phone is locked and if locked to which provider the phone is locked. People on this board are not Apple employees and cannot get you that information.

A redemption code can only be redeemed once. It is used to acquire a serial number. The serial number is what you need to activate the installed software. If you did not keep the serial number when you first installed, you might still be able to find it in your Adobe account online if you registered the software.

Once you have obtained an external drive and connected it you will 'clone' your internal drive to it.
Download Carbon Copy Cloner (it is not free but there is a fully functional trial version which is). Use it to clone your internal drive to your external drive. When that is done you will reboot from the clone and use Disk Utility to erase the internal drive (choose Mac OS Extended (Journaled)) as the format (this is normally preset, but check). Make sure to give the external drive a 'distinctive' name, don't want to get drives mixed up in this process.
Once that is done you will use Carbon Copy Cloner (from the clone) to restore the external to the internal.

When I repair permissions in disk untilities, I get one result that cannot be repaired:

I keep receiving a prompt that my account has been disabled, but not for secruity reasons. I had problems almost half a year ago with unauthorized purchases. When I asked Apple about the purchases, instead of providing answers, they said they would disable the account. Not only is that awful customer service and not answering my question, it's a HUGE pain in the butt because I just want to download some music legally!!! Does anyone in Apple Universe have any suggestions before I rip the rest of my hair out?

Why does every system upgrade mean that every app. one has been using since you purchased the hardware is now defunct. I use preview, pages and iLife generally but I don't want to upgrade from the previously "wonderful"Maverick to Yosemite.

Along with many others I am getting sick of upgrades being pushed at us continously.
Just as you find all your data and the changes in layout, proceedure and process that have been made,
along comes another system upgrade that means that previously accessible apps have ceased to work
UNLESS you take on the new system. I have been using Apple hardware for 30 years and the experience of
the past 3 years have made me wish I hadn't put all my work and faith into what is now a very dubious tool.
All this management speak of 'Community' and 'Support' is not backed up with any thing other than commercial
trickery and planned obsolescence. Beware; when even your best friends decide they've had enough then your

There's no such thing as "adobe standard file". The file format is "PDF".
If an email arrived with a PDF attached then save the PDF to the local machine's HDD.
Use Acrobat Standard to open the PDF file.
