TS1424 I am getting a "your account is temporarily unavailable, please try again later" message when trying to download an app?

When trying to download a new app, I get a "account temporarily unavailable, please try again later" message. Any ideas?

Welcome to the Apple community.
There seems to be rather more of this type of issue being reported currently, than there normally is, there may well be a problem with the servers. I would be inclined to wait a while, then try again later.

I don't know - but I am having the same problem and have not had any useful help from Apple Support. Everything they told be to do has been done and it hasn't fixed the problem.

I Have this issue too except I can log into my sons Apple id and watch his shows. I can AirPlay non-itunes content such as a tv show that has AirPlay but not my iTunes purchased items. I have tried all the fixes as suggested even resetting and reinstalling. It is bizarre, why can I watch my sons shows, movies....? I can see mine but they won't load. our family is not on family share. my son when he uses his own Apple tv in his home has no issue. All other Apple devices are working fine and I can watch from iPhone, iPad etc, just not Apple tv.
very disappointed with Apple at the moment. There updates, fixes and bugs are getting to be as bad as windows. i am seriously thinking of going back to android. Apples communication marketing people need to make a statement about this issue. I won't be buying anymore movies etc Apple til you sort this out.

iTunes showed I was logged in, displaying my Apple ID on the screen (left bar where it normally is) but I couldn't access my account, with the same error message coming up again! (seriously this is total BS)
I deleted EVERYTHING under
C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes
or YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes
Some people have had success only deleting everything in the cookies folder
C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\Cookies

Icloud problems, keep getting the "The backup could not complete,please try again later" message.

I have tried to backup to icloud since the day it released, but havent suceed a single time ( at home ) , the wierd thing is that i can backup to icloud at my friends place. but not home. i have tried to turn off the firewall, but it didnt work. tried to delete the acc, create a new one. didnt work either, have even tried to restore my phone but that didnt help either... trying to contact apple but havent got any answers for weeks. feeling a bit helpess....
anyone know why this is happening?
i use a Dlink router ( dir645 ) i dont know if there is any ports i need to open or any setting i need to set....
would appreciate for any help i can get =)

Turns out I had the same issue on WIndows (which I do not use a lot ...°.
Here is how I solved it on Windows 7:
- Quit iTunes (and Safari if you have it)
- Openan Explorer window ("My Computer" for example)
- Well hidden in the upper bar under "Organize" choose "Folder and search options"
- In the "view" tab, make sure that "Show hidden files, folders and drives" is checked and click OK
- Navigate to C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\Cookies or YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\Cookies if that is easier
- Delete everything in that folder
- (I am not sure this is necessary) you might want to also trash items in the YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\Cookies folder
- Launch iTunes
- Connect to your iTunes account
- Smile :-)

TS3297 I have been getting the "the itunes store is temporarily unavailable - please try again later" on my PC for over a week.

I have not been able to log-in on my pc for over a week. I have made sure my software is updated, unistalled and reinstalled and checked my windows updates... Help!!

Turns out it is was because my password needed to be updated to include a capital letter and number!!!

OK this is what I had to do; Not sure why but apple does not support yahoo email on the new ipad 2 so I had to create a gmail account. Deleted my yahoo account on ipad and entered new gmail account on the ipad, and it worked. I can now get email on ipad. Also gamil will import all contacts and mail from yahoo.

If you have two-step verification turned on, turn it off by logging into your Yahoo mail account on a browser.

If the phone was NOT unlocked, it can't work or be activated with any other carrier than AT&T. It CAN'T be used with Tigo or Movistar.
Your post makes very little sense. Maybe you can get some help with English.

I have Iphone4 brought from at&t USA(carrier locked) and i am in india now, i contacted at&t and requested for an unlock for me to use with indian carriers.
I got an email confirming the unlock has been completed from at&t and asked me to connect the device to itunes and do a back&restore, after the restore process i get an error message on itunes "your request cannot be processed, please try again after sometime" i tried it with my airtel sim card and also at&t sim card but did not work. Excuse me. I am on a contract with O2 with an iphone 4s, suddenly xmas day it said "no service", took it to o2 who sent it to apple factory who refused to repair it because a screw missing. I wouldnt know have never opened phone in my life,wouldnt know how to, then went direct to Apple Regent St London who also said "screw missing, warrenty void, then produced a phone just out of contract due to upgrade,a vodaphone carrier 3gs, it was unlocked but then told by apple the owner had to go to vodaphone and get it unlocked on their books which could take up to 48 hours, it is now 72 hours later and i have the same error despite backing up old phone with i tunes and i cloud,am very angry and am paying alot for a contract every month, all i can see is "no service and waiting for activation" and all ths started when I upgraded to IOS 6.Am extremely upset and still under warranty but no one seems to want to help me to connect to WiFI, i cannot keep going to Apple Regent Street at lunchtime and be shooed of with excuses, this replacement phone 3gs should work and it doesnt. I hit "DELETE THIS ACCOUNT" on my iphone (this is the Yahoo I tried to set up by "picking" it from the list that the iphone5 gives you) and then confirmed to delete everything.
THEN: while in Mail (still in the Settings Section) I tapped on "ADD ACCOUNT..." but this time tapped on "OTHER" and manually put in my yahoo ID and password and I did not even have to go to the SMTP or IMAP incomming/outgoing stuff at all. But I checked it out under the "ADVANCE" tab and it was already correct for yahoo. (ALMOST SEEMED TOO EASY)
Went to my home screen and tapped on MAIL and my yahoo email loaded up just right!
Now, I have no idea if I have any other issues like if I delete mail on the iphone; does it delete properly on my ipad...etc..etc. but one problem at a time is getting fixed. THANKS!

A lot of people have been unable to access Yahoo e-mail on their iPhones or iPads. My wife’s iPad was not downloading Yahoo mail, although her iPhone was. Both used IOS 8.2. We tried deleting the account several times and troubleshooting all of the other settings. The problem appears to have been that allowing the IOS to automatically create the account on the iPad resulted in the wrong settings for the incoming server. The following procedure, pieced together from two websites, fixed the problem for us. So far, so good.
