TS1424 I purchased iTunes match--won't let me  do it..error 4001

but it won't load and keeps giving me error 4001. I am doing this on my MBP and am very frustrated>?
I have already tried holding down option key and going to store and turning off itunes match and then turning it on again---doesn't work
Do i have to reboot my mac?
close itunes and open it up again?

If you mean you want to sync your music from your computer to your iPhone you need to disable iTunes Match on the iPhone. Go to Settings > Music and set to iTunes Match to OFF (not green). You may need to wait a few minutes for the change to register with iTunes. Connect the iPhone via USB/Thunderbolt and sync the music.

    It appears that some songs I can't access on my iPhone 5 either. Some are matched and other are purchased songs.
    I can't even play them on my phone. I can see the small equalizer graph move like it's playing some thing but no sound.

    Back in the prehistoric 90's I would want to listen to a song and guess what? I'd play it. But now my iTunes Match asks me for my ID and password. I give it and it goes right back to asking me again ad nauseam. Between my iPhone, Mac laptop, iMac, iPad, and iPods too numerous to count I've probably given the equivalent of two years at a decent college. And you know what? I'd take cassette at this point. A cassette that I purchased that never asked me for my ID and password. Trust me, I'm tech savvy but your iTunes Match and your iCloud are inefficient and spotty at best. Why do I say inefficient? Because it's been an hour and I still haven't been able to hear the song I wanted, a single, individual song that I bought but was hi-jacked by the Apple Cloud in the sky. Can't wait to pay you guys for my next annual iTunes Match. What a joke.
    Anyone wants to help that's fine but I wanted to vent at the supposed advanced technology that actually kind of *****. Get it together Apple.

    Sign out of your iTunes Store account and quit iTunes. Wait a few seconds and open iTunes, sign into your store account then try to re-enable iTunes Match. If this does not work you'll need to contact iTunes Store support directly.

  • Purchased itunes music won't let me import to imovie 4

    I have itunes7 and can listen to purchased music from my library and it syncs fine into my ipod. When I try to import it to a new project in imovie it says this...this computer is not authorized to play this song. Open itunes etc
    when I do all that it asks it says ..Machine authorization successful
    but then another box comes up behind it a says..Error during import,
    this song isn't authorized for this computer.
    I have tried over 20 songs that I have purchased from itunes and then same happens. Any suggestions?

    I preordered AM by the Arctic Monkeys, it was released on the 9th September. It still has not downloaded or gives me any options to download or even rebuy it. I had to change my card details which may have stopped the transation, this has now been sorted but it is still in the same 'purchased' stage and won't let me do anything. I can only listen to the preview of each song.

    That is true.  you purchase one download only of music/vids/etc.
    You can redownload apps only.
    Did you update without making sure that you had transferred all purchases from the ipod to itunes?  not good.
    From the itunes store terms of service:
    "PRODUCTS CAN BE DOWNLOADED ONLY ONCE; AFTER BEING DOWNLOADED, THEY CANNOT BE REPLACED IF LOST FOR ANY REASON. YOU SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR BACKING UP YOUR OWN SYSTEM, INCLUDING ANY PRODUCTS PURCHASED OR RENTED FROM THE ITUNES STORE THAT ARE STORED IN YOUR SYSTEM."
    You can try contacting itunes support and asking for an exception.  They are under no obligation to allow.

  • Itunes store won't let me connect

    For the past week the Itunes store won't let me connect. It says "itunes requires Safari 4.0.3 or later to be installed to use the itunes store within itunes...use software update"
    I checked my software update and it says I have the latest version of Safari (I download it last week as well).
    Any ideas? I purchase music from itunes almost weekly so this is a real pain right now.

    I am just making sure that if i purchase iTunes Match today, December 21, 2012...i won't need to resubscribe until December 21, 2013 correct? It's a year membership, so it is 365 days. I don't want to spend the $25 now and then have to spend it again on January 1, 2013.

    One year subscription, that's correct - so you'd be good until 12/21/13.
    About a month before the expiration, they'll also start emailing you as a reminder - at least they will if you don't have auto-renew setup.

    I need to uninstall and reinstall iTunes (it won't let me update). I have IE 8 on Windows XP, and iTunes 10 something. In my Program files list I see iTunes and iTunes (2) and even iPod and iPod (2) where a tech had to back up and do this for me before. I'm just trying to fix it all. I keep getting the "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'iTunes.msi' in the box below." I can even run a search and find the folder, but it gives me the same error message. I was planning on using the Microsoft Fix-It tool  to help uninstall then Reinstall iTunes. But I need to backup my library. So, how do I copy or back up my iTunes library of over 1,500 songs? Can I copy the folder to desktop or can I use a Flash Drive to backup my music? I don't want to do anything until I know for sure how I can backup my songs, and then reinstall them into iTunes. Thanks for any help.

    Ok, thanks that helps. I don't have an external hard drive though. What about backing up through 'the cloud'? I'm just wondering since my husband syncs his iPod to the PC through iTunes and he's worried that he will lose all the songs on his iPod if the library is lost from iTunes and he tries to 'sync' it up again. I'm not exactly sure how to  'copy the entire iTunes folder' either. I kinda suck at this unless I have step by step instructions, which I haven't found yet on iTunes help or other sources.
    The only way I know how to back anything up is by going back to a restore point, etc. (as stated before, we don't have an external hard drive.)

    For iTunes Match to work, your music needs to be in your iTunes library on your computer.
