TS1424 Impassable security questionnaire

When trying to download songs Itunes store opens up a window with a list of 3 choices of questions, and a year of birth filled that has to be filled in to update security info. I fill this in but regardless of the comination of  questions answered  it errors when I press continue: "An error occurred. We couldn't save your changes". The window only gives the option to cancel after this
We have been in email discussion with Itunes support but they have gone dark on us for over a month now
Nothing is working and we are getting upset with the multitude of support sites and security sites you get take through to resolve this

Take a look here:
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1646
If that doesn't help, go here:
http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/
and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store.
Regards.
Forum Tip: Since you're new here, you've probably not discovered the Search feature available on every Communities page, but next time, it might save you time (and everyone else from having to answer the same question multiple times) if you search a couple of ways for a topic, both in the relevant forums and in the Apple Knowledge Base, before you post a question.

  • TS1424 Recovering security question answers

How do I recover my answers quickly

What have you tried ? If you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then you can try going to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you might see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.

  • TS1424 forgot security questions

Got an iphone but when trying to download music from itunes, it wants to verify the account b/c it doesn't recognize the device.  But, I forgot how I entered in the answers to the security questions.  How can I retreive them?

go to your account information security and if you can remember the answer to atleast one question, you can reset them all. otherwise, youll have to call apple support and be transferred like fifty bazillion times before anything gets fixed.

How can I go in and change my security questions?

Start here (change country if necessary) and navigate to 'Password and Security', reset your security questions using the link provided, you will receive an email to your rescue address, use the link in the email and reset your security questions.
If that doesn't help, you don't receive a reset email or you don't have a rescue address, you should contact AppleCare who will initially try to assist you with a reset email or if unsuccessful will pass you to the security team to reset your security questions for you.
If you are in a region that doesn't have international telephone support try contacting Apple through iTunes Store Support.

Another user had success doing the following:
I got some help from an apple assistant on the phone. It is kind of round about way to get in.
Here is what he said to do and it is working for me...
on the device that is asking you for the security questions go to "settings", > "store" > tap the Apple ID and choose view"Apple ID" and sign in.
Tap on payment information and add a credit/debit card of your preference then select "done", in the upper right corner
sign out and back into iTunes on the device by going to "settings"> "store" > tap the Apple ID and choose "sign-out" > Tap "sign -in" > "use existing Apple ID" and you should be asked to verify your security code for the credit /debit card and NOT the security questions.
At this time you can remove the card by going back in to edit the payment info and selecting "none" as the card type then saving the changes by selecting "done". You should now be able to use your iTunes store credit without answering the security questions.
It's working for me ...I just have to put in my 3 digit security pin from the credit card I am using.
    Good Luck friends!

  • TS1424 Since security questions were introduced, by the time I have filled them in, I get a 'timed out' messagee

    Hi All,
Since the security questions were introduced, by the time I get them all answered and entered I get a 'Session Timed Out' message, and it will not let me buy anything. Anything I can do ?.
    Thanks for any help.
    Grayjay

Unfortunately the solution Katie_Bug_88 proposed did not work for me, possibly due to the age of my Imac and its operating system.
However, Diane from the Itunes Store did suggest a solution which has worked, and I give it below for the benefit of others with the same problem. ( With her permission )
    1. Open Safari
    2. At the top menu click on the 'Safari' drop down..
    3. Click on "Reset Safari .."
    4. A Box appears which asks "Are you sure you wish to reset Safari?"
    - Make sure all the boxes are checked, and then click "Reset" at the bottom.
    5. Safari will re-open, Instead of letting it re-open, quit Safari.
    6. After a few moments, try re-opening iTunes  - when the Security "Challenge Questions" re-appear, choose the ones you want to be asked, and answer them, then submit them.  You should be able to do so now.
Thanks to Katie_Bug for trying, hope this is of use to others.

  • HT5312 It's keeping ask me about security question answer  and never add a security questionnaire how it's that possible?

Hi a when I want to install a application it's keep ask me about answer a security question and I never add a security question. Thank you for you answer

If you log into your account via http://appleid.apple.com, and select the Password and Security section on the left-hand side of that page are you able to set them ?
If not, then from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5665 :
If you have three security questions and a rescue email address, sign in to My Apple ID and select the “Password and Security” tab to send an email to your rescue email address to reset your security questions and answers.
If you have one security question and you know your Apple ID password, sign in to My Apple ID and select the “Password and Security” tab to reset your security question.
If you have one security question, but don't remember your Apple ID password, contact Apple Support for assistance. Learn more about creating a temporary support PIN to help Apple confirm your identity when you contact Apple Support.
If you can’t reset them via the above instructions (you won't be able to add a rescue email address until you can answer your questions) then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple in your country to get the questions reset.
Contacting Apple about account security : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699
When they've been reset (and if you don't already have a rescue email address) you can then use the steps half-way down this page to add a rescue email address for potential future use : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312
