TS1424 iTunes song download not playing completely

The tune I bought in iTunes appears to have been fully downloaded in the iTunes window but stops playing before the end of the song.
Any suggestions as to why??

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one. See the following document for instructions:

Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

I have one tune in my itunes that will not play completly when put into my i pod.
It plays for 40 seconds and quits but will play fine from i tunes.

Is this song from the iTunes Store?
If so, see this:

Or, if this is a song that you've imported from a CD, you might want to just re-import the song, then re-load that copy of the song file onto your iPod.

You can probably import into a modern version of iMovie (8 or higher).
If you just wish to view the videos the free VLC player can play them back.

Purchased album and all songs do not play completely. Please help

I recently purchased an album on Itunes and some of the songs from the album do not play completely. They start and then stop a few minutes in. I called customer service and they said to redownload the album but its not giving me that option.
My Ipod is no longer syncing my music added either. Any suggestions, I would appreciate it!

After I have matched my library to iCloud and have downloaded the new, supposedly better, files, many songs do not play completely through on my ipod. Why?

So, I signed up for Match because I wanted to upgrade my music files and replace broken, incomplete ones with clean, reliable ones from Apple. Out of 16,660 songs in my library, only 648 weren't matched, which is just under 4%. I consider that to be pretty good, especially since I have a lot of covers and less popular music. BUT, now after going through the Match 3 step process (which took a week the first time), deleting my original files and replacing them with the supposedly better files that were matched, I now have many songs that are not playing all the way through. Now, here's the weird thing: I deleted the offending songs from my iTunes, downloaded another copy of the file (which may or may not have been from the original source) and matched the newly downloaded files to Match. When comparing the newer, upgraded Match file to the supposedly identical older version, most, but not all of the time, the newer version is several seconds longer than the old one. This makes sense since the ones that play incomplete generally stop a few seconds before the end of the song. But, this process of deleting and replacing songs is a pain, especially with the need to go through the upload/download process. So, here's the thing: I thought that the matching meant Match was matching my songs to the same songs in the iTunes store inventory. So, how do I end up with different lengths???? Especially since these are the files in the Cloud, not the ones I downloaded.
Judging from the many blogs I've read, this song cut-off issue is prevalent and, it appears, Apple hasn't seen fit to address it. So, is there a fix, other than the process I go through?

Your milage may vary, but while downloading select Downloads in the left-hand column and make sure Allow Simultaneous Downloads is unchecked. This seems to help with partial downloads...

Downloaded iTunes song will not play

iTunes version 7.1.1.5
Yesterday I purchased a song from iTunes. It will not play at all.
I only have the one account and have not authorized any additional computers. It shows up in the library but when I double click the song it does nothing. If I play the preceding song iTunes skips the new song and places the one after. All artwork and everything appears to have been downloaded properly.
Additionally, I downloaded a nother song earlier yesterday and I have no problems with it.

Whole Itunes Songs Do Not Play

I have Windows Vista and I songs on my itunes that are purchased directly from my account and shared songs from siblings accounts. This doesn't happen with any specific song but pretty much all of them. My songs do finish when I play them. They will play a fraction of the song (it is a different amount every time) and then skip to the next. How do I fix this? It is very frustrating.

ITunes song files not playing, even in Finder preview

I have several thousand songs on external drive that won't play anymore. The files are there taking HD space but clicking iTunes play button does nothing, preview will not open the little player and in iPods when pressing the play those songs will jump to next song after 2 seconds. All the podcast files, videos and some previously added songs work fine.

Same thing happened to me. All of my songs played fine this morning. I upgrade to the latest iTunes after seeing it announced on the website... and after waiting what seemed to be forever for it to analyize my music it would no longer play anything. I would double click a song and the play symbol would change to pause, but the time slider wouldn't move and no sound came out of my speakers. I freaked out and checked on here, but no answers yet. I went and moved all of the plugins i had out of the itunes plugins folder (including eyephedrine, oss3d, barquee, and nastyfft) and restarted iTunes. Everything seems to work fine now but that was quite a scare. I'm guessing oss3d locked it up somehow.

When I burn a CD using a Itunes song it will not play. The Apple store said there is a program update for Itunes to fix this. Does anybody know about the program update?

You need to go back to 7.4.2. I had the same problem and went to 7.4.3 and it still didn't work. Your problems should be resolved if you roll it back one prior. Here is the link:

ITunes song purchase not playing

I bought a song from iTunes, and when I tap to play it it goes onto the album artwork and pause/play button and then instantly goes to the next track, without making a sound. I can't delete the song directly from my iPhone, and it doesn't show up on my iTunes purchases, I can re-download it but I don't want to be charged again, any suggestions? Thanks

Try these steps to fix the issue:
1) Delete the songs that aren't playing from your iTunes library.

Songs do not play completely to their end.

I've looked at this and common solution seems to delete and download again. That's 1274 songs for me. Too much of my wii band width. That's not a proper solution. Has to be a patch fix or registery hack that would work.

No not all of them. I've been walking both ends of me download history to narrow down the affected files.I'll find the group and then go wear I can get some descent wifi connection and download them from there. I actually didn't realize they were doing it. I usual play suffle a playlist or genere and was noticing the songs were shorter than they should have been. Thought it was a shuffle feature. Explored a little more and discovered it wasn't.
