TS1436 Hi and Help.  I can't burn a CD on my I Mac.

This is a new issue.  I have always been able to do it in the past.  Since updating to the new version of I-Tunes, I can't do it.  I am able to play a store bought CD and Video.  I am able to burn a disk with Photos on it, but I cannot burn a music CD.  I just don't understand.  I know how to do this!!!!  Any suggestions?

If you don't have Nero, check out http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=9229334#9229334. I think some people have found a way to get just the Burn Rights program.
If that doesn't work, some people seem to have luck with editing the registry or messing with filters or gear drivers. Check out this discussion starting with Tytus (he came up with the Nero fix) on March 22:

Hope this helps!

I need advise and help with this problem .
First , I have been with Mac for many years ( 14 to be exact ) I do have some knowledge and understanding of Apple product .
At the present time I'm having lots of problems with the router so I was looking in to some info , and come across one web site regarding : port forwarding , IP addresses .
In my frustration , amongst lots of open web pages tutorials and other useless information , I come across innocent looking link and software to installed called Genieo , which suppose to help with any router .
Software ask for permission to install , and about 30 % in , my instinct was telling me , there is something not right . I stop installation . Delete everything , look for any
trace in Spotlight , Library . Nothing could be find .
Now , every time I open Safari , Firefox or Chrome , it will open in my home page , but when I start looking for something in steed of Google page , there is
''search.genieo.com'' page acting like a Google . I try again to get raid of this but I can not find solution .
With more research , again using genieo.com search eng. there is lots of articles and warnings . From that I learn do not use uninstall software , because doing this will install more things where it come from.
I do have AppleCare support but its to late to phone them , so maybe there some people with knowledge , how to get this of my computer
Any help is welcome , English is my learned language , you may notice this , so I'm not that quick with the respond

Genieo definitely doesn't help with your router. It's just adware, and has no benefit to you at all. They scammed you so that they could display their ads on your computer.
    To remove it, see:
    http://www.thesafemac.com/arg-genieo/
Do not use the Genieo uninstaller!

    Hello!
On all of these devices, go to: Settings > iCloud and make sure they're updated with the new password. If you're talking about Macs, go to: "System Preferences > iCloud" too.

  • Rented movies and purchased movies can be burned in a cd?

I just want to ask you guys if it is possible to burn your rented movies or purchased movies in a dvd-r?
    Hope someone replies. Thanks

    dattebayo,
    Rented movies can't be burned.
Purchased movies can be burned to a Data CD, but will only play on computers authorized for your account. You can have up to 5 computers authorized for your iTunes Store account at a time.
    Hope this helps,

  • Help! Can't Burn CD's

I'm having a weird thing happen when I put a blank CD in my PowerBook G4. Instead of being able to drag and drop files to burn. First it asks if I would like to open Disk Utilities, then after selecting that and selecting the CD the "Burn" option is grayed out. It shows that the Write Capacity is Read Only and the Total Capacity is O Bytes, which is not correct. It is at this point I'm stuck. I've talked to a few friends about this and they are dumbfounded as to what exactly is happening. I thought this is supposed to be easy. I was really looking forward to using this feature of the computer, I have an external burner on another maching but this was supposed to be a breeze.
    Any ideas???
    Thanks,
    Michele

  • [HELP] I can't install the bootcamp drivers on my mac.

    Hello people.
I have a problem and i wish if you could help me with.
    I have an iMac Early-2009 ( 2.66ghz C2D / 4GB 1333mhz RAM / GeForce 9400 256mb ) with Mountain Lion 10.8.4
The problem is that, i can't install the drivers from the bootcamp app ( the one from the bootcamp itself app, where you need a USB to download it)
i've already partitioned the HDD, and installed succesfully a Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.
But there's one little issue, when i try install the drivers i downloaded before on my USB, it says that "Bootcamp x64 is unsupported on this computer model".
BUT, what? i've installed correctly the Windows 7 64bit on the iMac.
I can't install anything, but only graphics driver. ( manually)
I searched in every forum trying to resolve my problem, i've read that you can install it from de DVD with Snow Leopard that came with the computer
but that disk is broken; it's annoying because it seems that is the only solution , with that resulting on a dead end.
I could install my NVIDIA drivers, using the ones from bootcamp drivers, BUT USING THE WIN_32 version because the WIN_64 was unsupported by my machine. ok, i could install the drivers and was the 263.03 i think.
Now i want to upgrade to my lastest drivers ( 320.14 WQHL ) and says that can't detect my gpu. but the old driver that came with recognized it with no problems. I tried also auto detect GPU, and the same drivers but no result.
Anyway, the main problem is that is "Bootcamp x64 is unsupported on this computer model". with a Windows 7 64bit copy installed on the bootcamp partition. this is ******* me off
I sucessfully installed on my Macbook Pro Late 2008 ( C2D 2.06ghz / 8 GB RAM / 9600m GT ) and everything fine, a Windows 7 64bit. installed the drivers and everything fine, even accepted the lastest drivers (320.14 WQHL) from nvidia. but that was on Mountain Lion 10.8
but since 10.8.3 only lets you install only 64bit, i can't search for a copy of win32bit and install it because, it's going to be the same problem anyways.
So if you could help me out with this *** problem.

I have an iMac (24-inch, Early 2008) — iMac8,1 and I have exactly the same issue.  Now, I'm running Mavericks, unfortunately.
On the one hand, from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3986, I see:
"Do all Intel-based Macs support Windows 7?
All Intel-based Macs support Windows 7 using Boot Camp 3.1 or later except these:
    iMac (17-inch, Early 2006)
    iMac (17-inch, Late 2006)
    iMac (20-inch, Early 2006)
    iMac (20-inch, Late 2006)
    MacBook Pro (15-inch, Early 2006)
    MacBook Pro (17-inch, Late 2006)
    MacBook Pro (15-inch, Late 2006)
    MacBook Pro (17-inch, Early 2006)
Mac Pro (Mid 2006, Intel Xeon Dual-core 2.66GHz or 3GHz)"
    So, I should be good.
However, from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5634, my iMac is not supported in Boot Camp requirements, which would have been nice to know before I purchased a copy of Windows 7.  I cannot get the Windows drivers to download from Boot Camp, and when I download them manually, whether version 4 or 5, I get the "Bootcamp x64 is unsupported on this computer model" message, which makes the HT3986 information unhelpful.  I even tried a Snow Leopard CD while in Windows, and it gave me the same message.  I tried one of the 3.x Bootcamp files, and still no good.
The funny thing is, I ran Bootcamp to create the partition for Windows 7, and it even popped up a message stating that Windows 7 was the latest Windows I could install on that machine, and the installation went fine.  However, I am missing who knows what drivers, etc, because Apple won't provide the Windows support software for a machine that evidently can run the software.  The graphics drivers appear to be fine, as the aspect ratio corrected itself, something that didn't happen on my MBP without having the Windows Bootcamp software.  I also have wi-fi, which is better than some experience.
I even cannot get the little Boot Camp Windows icon/software that should be accessible in the system tray, so I can set preferred system to boot in, tell it to boot into OS X, etc.  So, for that, I would have to rely on rebooting while holding down the ALT key, and my non-Apple keyboard for some reason won't do that (but that's another subject).
I guess there is nothing to do other than just do everything manually, piece by piece, unless someone has a solution that is eluding me.

  • Help!  Can't open Appleworks documents on my Intel Mac.

Just bought a new Intel iMac to replace my old G4 iMac but have just had a shock discovering that i can only open (some) of my old documents which i copied to my external hard drive using Keynote and Pages, but not all of them.
That in itself is annoying enough seeing as they don't come as part of the operating system, unlike Appleworks did.
    Any suggestions?
I can always plug in the old Mac but that defeats the object of buying the new one somewhat.

Thanks for the reply Brie Fly, thankfully i've managed to control my frustration and i've sorted the problem. I plugged the old mac back in to the external hard drive, copied Appleworks onto it, plugged the hard drive into the new mac and presto! it works. Obvious really, i think the initial frustration clouded my thinking!

  • HELP!  Can't burn disc on i-DVD 5

I created an i-DVD project using a 5.0 Theme and it looks and runs great -- no problem creating it in i-movie nor in sending it to i-dvd. It has music, everything. It just refuses to burn. I've tried every angle I can think of. It doesn't even give me the option to burn -- light grey. When I tried using a burn folder and "forcing" it to burn, it tells me "No video tracks defined in the current project." Underneath that it says, "Error in project structure." This is the first project I've ever created in either program so space is not an issue. It's a 7:40 minute movie so it's not too long. I just think I must be doing something wrong - please help!

  • Hello, and Help! Can I download from my E2 to a Z22?

Let me explain -- my E2 was stolen (with mostly work-related, medical data -- ouch!).  Someone kindly gave me a Z22, which she isn't really using.  How can I erase her stuff from the Z22, and then, it is to be hoped, get the info from my computer Palm Desktop onto the Z22?
I hope this is possible.  I really don't want a smartphone.  I'm not that smart!
    Thanks,
    Andrea
    Post relates to: Palm Z22

    hi,
to erase all data on the device do a hard reset (just go to kb.palm.com and enter number 887 for procedure)
to transfer data, if your data are stored on the Palm desktop
kindly take note on the username (top left corner of the palm desktop)
look for a folder assosciated with the username on
    c:/programfiles/palm(palmone)
then open up the username folder
rename the backup folder to oldbackup - this will prevent any software on the E2 to transfer to Z22 which might be incompatible
    after,
do a sync to your Z22
during the sync, your pc will ask what username you want
just choose Select an Existing account  and choose the correct username
    hope this will help

  • Help! Can't Burn Double Layer DVD

I bought some Double Layer DVD+ DVDs to archive photos and other files for storage in my safe deposit box. When I try to burn the DVD from the finder I get the message that an unexpected error has occurred. The disk does not even get burned. I can reinsert it into the internal DVD drive and it shows up as a blank DVD. The following is from my system profiler:
    MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-845:
    Firmware Revision: DBN9
    Interconnect: ATAPI
    Burn Support: Yes (Apple Shipped/Supported)
    Cache: 2048 KB
    Reads DVD: Yes
    CD-Write: -R, -RW
    DVD-Write: -R, -RW, +R, +RW, +R DL
    Burn Underrun Protection CD: Yes
    Burn Underrun Protection DVD: Yes
    Write Strategies: CD-TAO, CD-SAO, DVD-DAO
    Media: No
How can I archive the files to a DVD +R DL disk?
    Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the advice. However, I bought these DVDs at a closeout sale. They are labeled "Comp USA" who has gone out of business. I bought a spindle of 20 DVDs for $9.95. I wonder why the DVD burner is so particular?

  • I can't burn a dvd on my decktop mac 10.9.2

The disc burning process failed because it was not able to calibrate the laser power level for this media! This I had not problems with before updating to Mavericks?

Part of the function of iDVD is to compress the video you've created into the mpeg2 format that a DVD video player understands. Rather than focus on the file size, it's better to talk about vido length (in minutes). iDVD can compress 60 - 120 min of video onto a DVD at varying quality levels. Especially if you're close to 120 min, I'd recommend splitting the video onto two DVDs (there are some nice double DVD cases). If you have QT Pro, it's very easy to split the video (copy and Paste).

  • After installing the maverick i get this message when i try to open   iTunes: If you want to run i 64bits modus you must remove the mark:Open in 32bits modus. But i have removed the 32bits and i still can't get it to work!Have maces

after installing maverick i get this message when i try to open itunes:Unmark the 32bits modus-but i have unmarked it several times! The new iTunes requires 64bits modus so what shall i do?

I upgraded my 2007 iMac (20") to Maverick. Should never have done this! Lost mail, lost my mail archive, lost numerous programs/applications, lost all my installed hardware, spend 4 days on getting it running again with the (supreme) help of Apple Care. However it should not have happened at all!
iMac Computers with less than 4Gb of internal memory (as explained by Apple Care), or less than (estimated) 150Gb of free disc-space should not upgrade! Simple as that and the App Store should warn you about that and not simply let you pick up your free copy of Maverick!

  • How can I burn a DVD with iMovie (my Mac does not have iDVD)?
