Why don't the song titles burn onto the CD
Even when you burn an audio CD with the CD Text option enabled you may well find that the CD player you use to listen to the CD doesn't support the feature, so it appears to have been unsuccessful.

Thank you, reducing the image size worked! I had used a low res file before, and with success decided to increase the resolution/size, and then it didn't work. the image did appear in small preview in the export panel, but wouldn't burn when all was said and done. the dimensions you gave worked fine. unfortunately, it makes the image a little bit fuzzy, but i dont think i can do anything about this. at least it burned it in there. thanks!

Pre-Sales: Do the Song Titles Scroll like in the 3rd Generation?
Hello. I have a 3rd Generation 4GB Nano that I am completely happy with, but I'm considering getting a new 16 GB model.
I'd like to know if the song titles scroll in the Now Playing screen. The titles scroll in the 3rdG Nano.
Thank you! JdI just upgraded from a 8mb 3rd generation to a 4th gen 16mb nano and the song title scroll up and down vs the 3rd gen goes left and right. The other things I notice is that songs play clearer than the 3rd gen and the albums display clearer.
The only drawback I noticed is sometimes there is a delay on displaying albums from one song to another. This only happened once but it should be cleared up in the next update.
Other than that, I'm glad I made the upgrade -
How do I get the song titles to appear when I burn a playlist from iTunes?
I burned a playlist from iTunes, and the song titles on the burned CD changed to Track 1, Track 2, Track 3, etc. How can I get the song titles to appear as they do in iTunes? Is this really too much to ask from the world's leading music player software?
If you are burning an audio CD, you cannot as audio CDs do not have track names. Nothing to do with Apple.

this usually happens when a user moves or deletes files in the finder - a sure way to upset iTunes.
did you move or delete files in the finder ?

if you let iTunes manage your library, all your content will be in <MacintoshHD>/users/<yourname>/music/iTunes/iTunes music (or media)/music. did you look there ? tried a spotlight search ?

When they are greyed out, that usually means either itunes or your windows user ID doesn't have permission to change them.
Check windows 7 permissions on the entire itunes folder, and all its subfolders.
Take full control & ownership as explained in this webpage:

Don't worry about the article's title being about how to delete files. Getting the permissions right is the same process and this is a pretty easy explanation.
Restart itunes so it will read the new permissions, and see if you can edit the song titles. -
I used to be able to print labels for burned CDs with the cover being the playlist name and the other side the song titles...now the titles print out compacted, overlapping each other and illegible. I thought it was the printer but it happened w/1 other printer as well, which I used before for this exact thing w/no problem.
Try cleaning the print head with rubbing alcohol wipe, then replace your print head. Keep pushing the Ok.

I have exactly, exactly!! thesame annoying problem you have or had. I don't know what to do and i am reallyfrustrated with the dumb limited inside the box solutions offered to me. It'slike if you have a problem with your ipod or iphone you can either restore it,uninstall/reinstall itunes and thats pretty much it. I am sorry but that isjust f***** up.

My songs are in my iTunes library but the song titles do not show up on the songs list.
I have an older generation iPod nano, do I need to go back to an older version of iTunes so I can see the song titles on the song list? If so, does anyone have a link to the oder verson?
Does anyone know of an audio CD burner that will consistently label the original information?
Audio CDs do NOT have info except for CD-TEXT, no matter which program you use.
The Redbook audio CD standard does not allow for anything except CD-TEXT.
iTunes will write CD-TEXT but it will not read CD-TEXT.
You can burn data CDs and all the info will be retained and can be played in iTunes. -
I have a very old (by computer standards) MacBook Pro, and a newer one. I've been using the old one mostly for iTunes, into which I have only CD entries. For a long time, years, the old MacBook pro ceased entering the song titles. This is very time consuming for me, so I finally investigated a bit further.
I discovered how to enter the track titles onto my newer MacBook Pro, and was so pleased! But when I tried to do the same with the other laptop, it failed.
What I did, basically, was what the Apple Help suggested--choose iTunes General Preferences, etc.etc. And yes, I did upgrade the old laptop to the newest iTunes version.
Am I just wasting my time here? Is there some reason why an older Mac Pro will not do what the newer one will, with regard to iTunes?
My older laptop is a 2.6 GHz Core Duo; it has 36 GB of "memory available." The newer one a 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7. It has 284 GB of memory available.
Both are using the same version of Snow Leopard--10.6.8.I have a very old (by computer standards) MacBook Pro, and a newer one. ITunes won't let me edit the song titles
I click on a song title, and click the Get Info and it won't let me edit the song.
The text is light gray instead of being black. When it's black I know I can edit it.
I don't know how this happened... can someone please help me??Its one of two things,
1) You don't have the rights to those files/location
or
2) The file is read only. Don't change just change the folder rights, go right to the files and uncheck readonly.
Of course it could be something else I'm not aware of. -
What's the " ! " icon before the song title? i'm unable to play that song.
what's the "!" icon before the song title? I'm unable to play that song. Yet, when I try to buy the song again, a box appears and tells me "you have already purchased this song". If there is a record of my buying the song, why can i not play it?
The exclamation point means that iTunes can't find the track file in the place where iTunes believes the file to be located. Confirm that the track file hasn't been moved or renamed from its original location (you can see the location where iTunes is looking by doing a Get Info on the track in iTunes).

Small alphabet letters next to the song titles
Why are there small alphabet letters down the right side of the screen next to the song titles? If they have no function, how can I ger rid of them?
It's an index.
You use it to go quickly to tracks/artists beginning with that letter. -
I recently purchased songs from my iphone. All good... But I then went to put them on my ipod touch. They seemed to have downloaded but the songs wont play and the song title/the text, appears in a grey colour and there is a downlaod symbol in front of the song title. what do i do next?? They play on my iphone and from the itunes library but not from my ipod touch.
If the songs are still on your ipod, make sure autosync is disabled in iTunes on your computer, connect and right click on it in the device list, then choose "transfer purchases" to copy all bought media and apps from your ipod to your computer.
If the songs are not on your computer and got deleted from your ipod as well, you can't get them back, unless you have a backup of your iTunes library as part of your computer backup. -
Why is it that whenever I download a song from itunes that a small grey button appears next to the song (apparently this is the download progress) but whenever I hit it to resume, the song disappears. I am getting annoyed with having to copy the songs manually onto my phone. Thanks for anyones help. Cheers
If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:

Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.
