TS1476 where are songs purchased from itunes stored?

I purchsed a few songs from itunes on my phone, after updating my phone, the songs are no longer there. Where can I find purchased songs?

If you are in a country where you can re-download music and they are still in the store then they should appear in the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app for re-downloading : re-downloading items.

I recently ran an updatedafter being prompted multiple times. Now I find there are a number of songs that I cannot sync to my iPhone. Some are songs purchased from iTunes.  Is there anyway to remedy this?  I'd really prefer not to have to repurchase music.

Why would you repurchase songs simply because they will not sync?  Sorry, that's beyond illogical, it's simply not smart.
What happens when trying to sync these songs?
    Any errors?

  • Where does the purchase from iTune stored ?

I have a Desktop, my wife has a Mac Book Air & a iPad, My son & daughter has a iPod Touch & a iPod each.
My children are less than 12 yrs old and do not own iTune account nor my wife.
I have an iTune account and tethered to my credit card to purchase.
I have never bought music from iTune [My purchase history is for hardware-MBA,iPod Touch ect]
What happens when I purchase a music track through my iTune account? [My Wife wants to know as she would like to purchase music tracks and I am sure my daughter would then want those same tracks on her iPod & iPad]
Do I have to download it to save on my Computer or the Mac Book Air Hard drive so that I can save them & play on our iPads or the iPod Touchs? What would happen if I on a later date to format my computer or the MBA hard drive to reinstall my OS-Would I loose access to my purchased music tracks as they would get erased during the process of hard drive format?
I would appreciate if anyone could make it clear to me.
    Regards

You buy one download from itunes, just as you buy one cd from the store.
Once you buy it, then you can move/copy/backup the music wherever you like.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer files, docs, music, pics, etc to an external source ( external drive, dvd, cd, flash drive, network drive, etc).
Your itunes purchases should be no different. They should be included in your regular backup of your computer.
You can Google backup itunes library or similar for directions or just copy the entire itunes folder. Itunes also offers a way to do this:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2727383
You can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod/iphone/ipad. Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases
I certainly would not rely on that as your backup plan. The music should be included in your regular backup of your computer.

  • I recently purchased Icloud match and am having a variety of issues. I have a PC and first off, several of my playlists have completely disappeared. Currently, the only songs from my playlists that appear on my Iphone 4 are songs purchased from Itunes.

Most of the music in my library is downloaded from prerecorded cd's to an external drive. In many instances, only certain songs from the same album will sync. I tried to convert the files to apple supported files when I see slashes and exclaimation points. The seemed to be converting and syncing to Icloud, but then they would be back to where they started the next time I turned on my computer. It appears that as much as 3/4 of the music I want to send to Icloud/match is unable to sync. What's even more frustrating is that I can no longer sync directly from computer to my phone, several of my playlists I had to recreate, and most of the music in these playlists will no longer play on my comuter. Help!

    Hi Bill of NJ,
If you are only seeing part of your content on your new computer with Home Sharing (for example, new purchases automatically downloaded with Automatic Transfer), you may need to manually transfer the remaining files via Home Sharing. You may find the following article helpful:

Many thanks JEM24 for your help.  Ive just spent the best part of six hundred pounds on a new Sony Rx100m2 compact camera, so I have no interest in the Ipods camera at all really. I doubt Ill be watching many videos on it as Im very lucky in that I have a good Android tablet. Its more as a stock music player that Ill be buying the Ipod for, if indeed I do end up buying one. I dont like the idea of paying the exorbitant amount added for more memory space that Apple along with most other companies charge. In fact I read an article on this very subject just yesterday in the tech section of Flipboard. It stated in the article that in the case of the Iphone  the actual cost of each additional  gigabyte of storage  to Apple et al is something in the order of 60p.. This is certainly not reflected in the price us the customer has to pay at the till.. Its for this reason primarily that Apple in particular, because their products do not allow adding expandable memory of your own in the form of cheap to buy cards, that nobody in their right mind buys the 64gig etc Iphones..I am aware that we are discussing my potential purchase of an Ipod Touch here but you see my point. Many thanks again though for helping me.

  • Everytime I try to download a song purchase from itunes I get the error message. 'Unable to Download Song' could not be downloaded at this time. I cannot even sync with itunes on the PC.

    Hi guys,
I need some everytime I try to download a song purchase from itunes I get the error message. 'Unable to Download Song' could not be downloaded at this time. I cannot even sync with itunes on the PC.
    Kind regards

One correction, from the icloud I was not able to listed to the entire song.  So when you purchased the song if it wasn't downloaded to your library, chances are you have lost your opportunity to listen to it.

  • Authorization of old song purchases from iTunes-Win7 PC.

For old songs purchased from iTunes several years ago, I'm notified I've exceeded the max (5) number of computers. I cannot play these songs or have them synch to my new iPhone.  I've deauthorized all computers and re-authorized my current Win7 PC. I've changed the notification settings in the control panel. (All of these remedies suggested by Apple on-line support).  This issue is still not resolved. Can anyone offer a suggestion? Thank you.

Sounds like you might have multiple iTunes Store accounts. If you purchased that old album with a different Apple ID, it wouldn't show up in your purchase history if you are signed in to a different account. Same deal for authorizing content. If that song was purchased using a different Apple ID, you would need to use that account name and password to authorize it.
If you aren't sure which account you used to purchase an item, you can find out by following these steps:
    1) Control-click (or right-click) the item in your iTunes Library.
    2) Choose Get Info from the menu that appears.
    3) Click the Summary tab.
You’ll see the account used to purchase the item. If you have changed your account name, the item's Summary will still show the original account name.

Did you try carving a pentagram into the ground, filing it with gasoline, lighting it on fire, placing the ipod inside the pentagram, and then dancing around it naked while howling at the moon yet ?
I supose its possible that there were internet interuptions during the download of theese songs. Most computer soundcards have technology that eliminates skips by... skipiing the skips. If you have a problem like Goldwave (freeware), you can open the file and zoom in to look at the wav. If there are little holes, you can delete them and it will be seemless. This is something I have done in the past, but likely isn't your issue.
Sorry I cant offer a more definative answer.

  • Trouble after Upgrading to Vista - Songs Purchased from iTunes.

So I upgraded the family laptop with Vista (unimpressed so far, but thats a different issue) and then tried use iTunes and a gift card my wife gave me. To my suprise, iTunes told me that certain songs couldn't be copied to my iPod...turns out its only songs I purchased from iTunes. All of the songs I added to the library by ripping CDs still reside on my iPod, but nothing that I've downloaded. They are still in my library, but I can't get them onto my iPod. I've spent a great deal of time and money building my music collection, how do I fix this so I can use it again!?

With an OS upgrade, iTunes will view your system as new, requiring another authorization to play purchased content. You will have to re-authorize your computer.
