TS1501 transferring a small batch of photos from the new ipad to macbook pro (this way you can upload one album at a time, file them into a new album on macbook pro) Pls. advise.
How can I transfer a small batch of photos from the new ipad to macbook pro? In theory, I should be able to keep my albums together this way (once uploaded to macbook pro, i can easily file them into a new album on macbook pro.) Not working for me! Macbook pro does include iphoto. I had no problem uploading ALL photos (3 or 4,000.) Help! Goal is to keep albums together.
Hi all,
Goal: Backing up photos!
Hope: Transfer ALBUMS from ipad to external drive (via macbook pro)
Is this possible? Or will I have to create a file name for each of my thousands of photos?
UGH!
HELP!

I shoot RAW with my 7D Mark II. PS is up-to-date. Some of my photos from the same shoot will process but some say they can't be read. What is going on?
Jim;
All images are visible on my camera. I am using fairly new 32GB CF and SDHC cards. I will see if my card reader makes a difference. I was going over photos I took in 2012 that I have reviewed before and some of them now aren't readable now.
Thanks for the suggestions.
Alan

I dropped my iPhone 4 in water and now it won't turn on at all, will i lose all of my data, for example my photos and messages etc? and is there any way you can back the phone up without having it switched on?
If you had previously been backing up to iCloud (or a computer with iTunes), you would possibly have a backup. That said, if you can't turn the phone on, you cannot create a backup of the device now. Sorry.

iTunes doesn't provide the ability to upload media from the iPod/Iphone. Why is this and why can't it be a drag and drop option as windows
Because Apple have designed it that way.
It's actually against the (Apple) rules of this forum to speculate about Apple's decisions, so if perhaps you should ask your question on a more appropriate (non-Apple) forum. If you continue the discussion here, you could simply find that your post gets removed by the moderators. -
I accidentally deleted all of my vacation photos from photo stream on my iPad. Is there any way to recover these pictures back into my iPad?
davidpowys wrote:
Lots of iPad users think it is impossible to recover lost data from iPad, in fact , it is possible.
Method 1: Trash bin to recover the deleted photos
Restore from your iCloud backup, if you used iCloud to backup your phone, see iCloud: Backup and restore overview, or estore from a backup you made with iTunes on your mac.
Method 2: Restore from the PhotoStream synced to your other devices.
Do you have Photo Stream enabled? Then your iPad will have a sent all photos added to the camera roll to the photo stream, and other devices you sync with the Photo Stream may have downloaded the photos, see: iCloud:
Hope this helps.
If you make a backup previously, you still can recover your iPad photos from backup. -
I didn't receive my photos in the download on my new IPhone. Why did this happen and can it be corrected?
Are my pictures lost or can they be retrieved?

I have just added an album to my iTunes from a CD. But the tracks are now displayed in 2 places in my iTunes library -- as if I had downloaded 2 seperate albums. How do I consolidate them into a single album in my iTunes?
Did you use the same method to add each of the six albums to your library? With some of iTunes configuration options, some imports (CDs, Store purchase, use of the Automatically add to iTunes folder) will go into the standard media folder location, but the other methods to add media files already on your PC (Add File to Library..., Add Folder to Library..., drag and drop) will leave the files in their original spot.
The other factor that may influence where iTunes locates media files is the setting of the "part of a compilation" flag in the media metadata. When this flag is set iTunes (when configured to organize your media and copy all additions to the media folders) will place files in iTunes Media\Music\Compilations\album_title rather than iTunes Media\Music\artist_name\album_title. -

My history has been wiped out. I would like to know if there is a way i can see how many times a site was previously visited using my MacBook. Pelase advise. Thansk!
no, i deleted the addresses from my history but was able to pull them up from the cookies. i want to know if i can view how many times the site was viewed ever after it has been deleted out of my history..
thanks! -
If you have iPhoto 11 then check the System Trash.
Any other version check out a file recovery utility such as File Salvage
Unless you have a back up, of course. -

How do you transfer photos from laptop to ipad air?
How do you transfer photos from your laptop to ones ipad air?
You transfer photos during a sync with iTunes.
First organize your photos. If you're using a Mac use iPhoto to create photo albums. If you're using a PC organize your photos by creating a main photos folder. Inside of that folder creat folders and sort photos into topics or dates. Do not create any additional folders inside the first nested folder.
Then start iTunes on your computer. If you don't have iTunes on your computer download it form Apple it's free. If you already have iTunes make sure it is iTunes 11.1 or later. If it is an earlier version of iTunes update it.
Start iTunes on your computer and connect your iPad. Select your iPad in iTunes. Then select Photos from the row of tabs that are presented.
You can choose to sync photos from iPhoto or navigate to your main photo folder. Then select to sync all photos or select just the albums you want on your device.
Finally click apply or sync at the bottom of the iTunes screen on your computer. -
How do I get photos from iCloud TO iPad?
I connected my iPad in my computer and I dind't mean to restore it, but ir did. So now all my photos from the iPad are gone, but I know they are on iCloud. But the problem is I didn't make a backup from iCloud, and now I can't get them back to my iPad!
Please help me, I'm losing my mind here! There are over 1000 photos!
ThanksThe only photos backed up to iCloud are the ones in Camera Roll which are only there if you selected iCloud for your iPad Backup. If the backup was setup to be on the computer there may not be one on iCloud. Through the Restore process you should have been prompted to restore from a backup if available. This is you best option for recovering only those photos which were stored in Camera Roll.
iCloud does have the Photo Stream service which is not intended to be a back up but more of a service to share your photos between other devices. It is possible to use Shared Photo Streams for backups but it is also intened to be used to share photos. The "My Photo Stream" has a 1000 photo and 30 day limit in which photos are removed from the servers once these limits are reached. You can log into iCloud and turn on Photo stream on the iPad which will return any photo still available on the server, but not all will be there.
Since Photo Stream and iCloud are more of a syncing service other than string the limited data in the iOS backup irreplaceable files should be synced to a dedicated online photo back up service. Or at best transferred to a computer where they can be organized and properly backed up using external drives, CD/DVDs and/or other online services. Once organized iTunes can sync an additional copy for viewing on the iPad.
Good luck. -
I have uploaded photos from the past and they are automatically arranged by date. As a result, there are many events grouped into one library/event/folder/album (not sure of the proper terminology) I'd like to separate them into folders/albums/smart albums so that I can easily identify the contents. How do I do that and do I delete the originals?
It would be good to take the tutorials and learn iPhoto - these are for the previous version but the concepts are the same and much of the command is the same - and it would be a worthwhile investment of time to take the iphoto tutorials - http://www.apple.com/findouthow/photos/ - they are very helpful and will save you a lot of time and frustration. - also the tutorials in iPhoto Help will be helpful - while iPhoto is easy and intuitive it does have a learning curve and it will save you time and pain if you spend a few minutes learning the basics
as to organization - events are generally time based and are the basic automatic organization - you can merge and split them to make them work better for you but they are not a good way to do detailed organization - best to leave them time based
albums are logical things that contain photos and are just pointers to the photo in the event so they take no extra space and all changes to a photo anywhere are reflected everywhere
Smart albums are the same except they are automatically filled based on the criteria you set when you create them
Folders are containers that you create and a folder can contain albums, smart albums or other folders so they are a big help in organization - like a vacation folder that holds folders for France, USA, China with each of thos folders holding albums of photos from the country
