TS1503 what is the "other" usage on my iphone with the apps audio photos and other

I dont know what the "other" category is in my phone storage usage and its taking up more than half of my storage on my iphone

What fixed this for me was clearing/deleting old text conversations that included videos and photos. "Other" was taking up about 6 gigs until I cleared the past conversations. To clear the conversations (after saving any videos and photos to your camera roll):
Click on the Messages app. Click on a text conversation that includes videos/photos. Click "Edit" in the upper right. Then click "Clear All" in the upper left, then confirm the delete.
This worked for me. Hope it works for you.

I shot an interview in a hallway. What's the best audio filter and settings to reduce/eliminate echo?

There isn't one. You will be trying to remove the same frequencies as those you want to keep.
Reshoot it, strategically position some heavy drapes and use close miking such as a lav and reliable monitoring quality headphones.

  • HT4946 in-app purchases are backed up but what about the apps themselves (purchased and free)?

While creating a back-up by via iTunes (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US), in-app purchases are backed up (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4946) but what about the apps themselves (purchased and free)?
Are the apps backed up too or do they need to be purchased, downloaded and installed again?

You can transfer your purchases to computer iTunes.
Connect and select iPhone in iTunes under DEVICES, right click and choose Transfer Purchases from ...
BTW, you can alway re-download again for free if it's still available in the app store.

  • What's the difference between photos and albums

I'm trying to figure out what the difference between photos and albums is on my ipad 'photos' programme.
What I'm really trying to do is to delete photos from my phone so that I'm not going over 5GB on my icloud and I don't want to lose them, so I'm checking to see where they are stored on ipad.

    Hello julian
As far as what iCloud backs up, it is backing up the photos and videos in the Camera Roll. If you want to ensure that your pictures are backed up, then follow the steps in the last article to import them to your computer. One thing to note is that you cannot import your albums that you create. If those photos are not in your camera roll, import the photos to your camera roll.

  • What is the app that scans and holds all of your store cards i.e. CVS card?

    X

ICloud and the App/iTunes Store are different services from Apple, you can use either by logging in with an Apple ID, you don't need to use the same ID for all services on the same device.
You can both share an ID for the iTunes and App stores so you can share purchased content but each use different ID's for iCloud, so you have your own contacts, calendars etc. you can use the same ID on more than one device.

  • What is the difference between PHOTOS and CAMERA ROLL

I understand what CAMERA ROLL is and I understand what PHOTO STREAM is. What is PHOTOS?

Any albums that you've created directly on your iPad in the Albums tab will contain photos that are already in the Photos app - so they will also be in the Photos tab. And when you create new albums on your iPad you are effectively just creating pointers to those photos, you aren't creating separate copies of those photos, so if you 'copy' a photo from the camera roll into a new album, if you then delete that photo from the camera roll you will also be deleting all pointers to it (so it will also be removed from any albums that you've 'copied' it into).

  • What's the difference between CoBuilder and other development tools?

Is there any more excellent features about CoBuilder?

I just want to know more about it.
    Thanks!

One more thing, if you do not have the hard drive icon on the desktop you can get it there by:
click on the desktop so the menu bar says Finder next to the apple logo, click Finder, then Preferences, General, Show These Items on desktop and check the hard disks:
That makes life a lot easier when you want to find out information.

  • What are the prerequisites to install and configure Oracle Coherence 3.4

What are the prerequisites to install and configure an Oracle Coherence (3.4 Grid version) on RHEL5.0 system?
I want to make an Oracle Coherence Gid Data system for testing purpose using 3 machines.
What kind of network configuration is OK?
What software should be installed in advance?
    Thank you

    Hi,
I would read through the Testing and Tuning section of the following page.

Even though you are not about to go into production I think the Production Checklist has some very useful information.

  • What's the difference between 45Wh and 54Wh battery?

    Hi,
I was looking for a new battery for my MacBook Aluminum Unibody (Late 2008) and found that there are 45Wh and 54Wh battery. So what's the difference between 45Wh and 54Wh one at the same capacity? Will the 54Wh one offer a longer usage-time?
    Thanks,
    Nathan

I wouldn't trust it. Even though the new battery is rated at 54 Watt hour but an apple battery may or may not run up to 1000 cycles. I looked the product reviews on amazon and I will go for what others said. However, Apple battery is designated to last about 700-1000 charge cycles but a battery over than 700 cycles. I am apple battery tech savvy. I would like to share my experience and provide sufficient answers to all the people in this forum.
I have no idea what you are trying to say. But I am NOT buying or recommending any 3rd party battery. Please read the post.

  • What's the difference between "overloading" and "overriding" in Java

What's the difference between "overloading" and "overriding" in Java

    hashdata wrote:
What is the real-time usage of these concepts...?Overriding is used when two classes react differently to the same method call. A good example is toString(). For Object it just returns the class name and the identityHashCode, for String it returns the String itself and for a List it (usually) returns a String representation of the content of the list.
Overloading is used when similar functionality is provided for different arguments. A good example is [Arrays.sort()|http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/api/java/util/Arrays.html#sort(byte%5B%5D)]: all the sort() methods do the same thing (they sort arrays), but one sorts byte-arrays, another one sorts int-arrays, yet another one sorts Object-arrays.
By the way, you almost certainly mean "real-world" usage. "real-time" (and thus "real-time usage) means something entirely unrelated to your question.

  • What is the difference between subroutine and function module?

What is the difference between subroutine and function module?

    Hi,
    they can both return values.
FMs are mainly used when a routine is to be performed by many programs.
Subroutines (forms) are generally only executed within one program.
You can perform routines from other programs, but it's not often done.
both forms and FMs are reusable modularization units.
To distinguish we generally say that forms are used for internal modularization and
FMs are used for external modularization.
To decide on which to implement, consider whether you need the content to be used just for a limited program
or wheteher it can be called from many independent programs.
For the first purpose it is better to implement a form whereas for the second we implement an FM.
However, ABAP does not isolate the usage context.
That is; you can call a form from another program within whose code the form is not actually implemented.
However, this requires attention since the form may utilize global variables.
The same issue holds for FMs.
FMs are encapsulated in function groups and function groups may have global variables that can be globally
used by all FMs inside it.

  • 4S usage % drops quickly even with all apps closed. What is normal?

4S IPhone. Usage % drops quickly even with all apps closed. What is normal?

It depends on your carrier and signal strength, usage patterns, wifi connectivity, apps used every day.
Low signal on CDMA networks will drain the battery within 5 hours.
Full signal on CDMA + LTE will allow up to ~17 hours of runtime
Who is your carrier? (and signal strength)
    What is your usage pattern?
When do you notice the battery dropping?

  • What is the diffrence between cookies and cache, is it safe to remove cache?

what is the difference between cookies and cache , is it safe to remove cache ? . I had cleaned cookies many times but I have not removed cache , does it goes on increasing day by day ? please let me know

Cookies are small files that contain information useful to a web site -- such as password, preferences, last date visited, etc. You may remove the cookies that you don't want adn since some of them are a privacy issue, many people remove them all.
Cache is just a collection of data downloaded to help display a web page. After you leave a site, much of the cache is left on your computer and is no longer needed. You can always remove the cache because it will be replaced as needed.
