Why would the category "other" be using 2.2GB of memory on my iPad?

What to do now when my iPad won't turn on after I turn it off. It shows only the apple logo. I am sure it has above 70% charge as when I sync my iPad it shows necessary detail in iTunes. I have tried, HOME & POWER button, but did not work.
First try a Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least Ten seconds... (But can take Longer)... until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons
If no joy... Try a Restore...

When I try to sync my ipod it shows that I have 2 gig of "other" stuff and I don't know what it is and it is taking up space. How do I get it off?
You need to restore you iPod to gedure the "other" to its normal of less than 0.5 GB. A restore from backup works if the large other is not in the backup. Make sure that you turn off outo syncing (iTunes>Preferences>Device and check the box that says Prevent iPOds....syncing. Otherwise, the backup will contain the other.

Most likely there is corrupt data on your iPad.
Restore and see if that helps.
Next try to restore as new.
If neither of those help take it to Apple. -
Hey Guys,
I need some advice. I had about 9000 pitures and photos in my camera roll folder.
I wanted to manage all these pictures into separate folders for easier access.
I imported all the pictures onto my pc, and created and managed the pics.
I synced the phone and excluded the photos,as advised on the site.
The I disconnected the phone, connected again and included the pictures.
On the coclour tab it indicates that all the pictures are there, after syncing,
but on my phone, nothing appears.
Am I doing something wrong? Is there another way of importing my pictures
onto the phone and keeping the separate folders?
Thanks,If you don't find an iTunes backup as suggested above, another possibility is that the phone was setup to automatically back up to iCloud. You can go to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > Manage Storage to see if your device name is listed there. Also, I'm sorry to hear you lost 5 years of pictures. Having them in one place (as you unfortunately found out) is not a good idea as all kinds of things can happen including loss of the phone. If you have a computer it is a good idea to periodically import them to the computer where you can see that they have successfully transferred to a second location. Make sure to back up the device so that no data is lost. If you turn on iCloud in Settings>iCloud this will save your contacts and photos.

when I sync my ipad with my Imac a different apple id is shown and I have to overwrite it. The login appears again and this shows yet another different apple id? Does anyone know how this could happen?

It sounds like you need to sign out of your iTunes account on your iOS device or computer, and update the information for your Apple ID and billing.

I no longer see all of my songs/CD's in the iTunes window that are on my iPad. I am afraid to upgrade. Where are all of the titles that are on my iPad when I sync my iPad with my computer? The iTunes window used to show everything.

My folders disappear when I sync my iPad with iTunes
I have about 290 apps on my iPad - too many for the 11 screens allowed. I organized them into folders in iTunes (took me a couple of hours) so that I could see all my apps and find them more easily. When I synced my iPad with iTunes, they all disappeared. I'm running verion 4.3.5. HELP!!!
Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Look there for the iPod Photo Cache.
Trash it. Start iPhoto and try sync again.

My desk-top is an iMac G5. I use the Firefox brouser exclusively on it and have for a number of years. I now have an iPad [#1] but it only has Safari as a brouser. I recently got a new PC and had all of my files moved to it. However, when I sync my iPad and IPod nano I get a message that states that 41 of my items can not be copied to the PC because it is not authorized on my account even though it is. I have tried de-authorizing it and re-authorizing it but they still will not copy. Any thoughts on how I can get them to copy?

I had purchased an audio book from itunes on my iPad and when I synced my iPad with my computer, my audiobook disappeared. I have already purchased this audiobook, so now I just need to know how to get it back because it is not on iPad anymore. I don't think the audiobook was backed up to icloud but I have the receipt to prove I purchased it. Is there anyway I can get it back?

If you purchased it on your ipad, then you would have to transfer it to your computer. File>Devices>Transfer Purchases.

When I send a text from my iPad, it shows that it comes from my email address. If I then text that same someone from my iPhone it still shows as if its coming from my iPad. How do I stop this?
On your iPhone, go to Settings -> Messages -> Receive At -> Caller ID and make sure the phone number is selected - this will cause new messages sent from your iPhone to appear to come from your iPhone phone number.
(I actually prefer to have my email selected, so that when I message someone from my iPhone and they reply, it goes to both my iPhone and iPad)
Also, when you send a message from your iPhone, make sure you're not replying within an existing conversation (that was created on your iPad and linked to your email). Just start a new conversation (even if it's to the same person) by going to the Messages app, going back to "Messages" (top left corner) if you're already looking at a conversation, and then clicking the Compose icon in the top right.
