  • How can I sync my iPad mini with itunes version 10.6.5? My mac says it is up to date.

My iPad mini won't sync up to my iMac as it says I need a different version of iTunes.  when I try to update iTunes it says I am already up to date.  Any suggestions?

You need iTunes version 10.7 or later. Your OS, however, Mac OS X 10.5.8, does not support a newer version of iTunes. You need to upgrade your computer's OS. If your Mac has an Intel processor, buy Snow Leopard: http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard. It is compatible with the latest version of iTunes.

  • HT1386 Hi, I have an old powermac G4 laptop running OS X 10.5.8, can I sync my ipad mini with the version of itunes running on it?

    Hi
    I have a powerbook G4 laptop, A1095 running OSX 10.5.8
Can I sync my ipad mini with the itunes I have installed?
    Regards
    Gavin

Yes ... with regard to syncing. Actually, you need to be running OS X 10.6.8. This is copied from the iPad Mini tech specs website.
Apple ID (required for some features)
    Internet access6
Syncing with iTunes on a Mac or PC requires:
Mac: OS X v10.6.8 or later
PC: Windows 7; Windows Vista; or Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 2 or later
    Download iTunes at www.itunes.com/download

iCloud requires OS X Lion (10.7.2) or higher.  You will need to upgrade to either Lion or Mountain Lion in order to set up iCloud on your Mac.  First check to see if your system meets the system requirements to upgrade.
    Lion system requirements are:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
Mountain Lion system requirements are shown here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5444.
If you can run Mountain Lion, you can purchase an upgrade from the Mac App Store.  If you can only run Lion, contact the online store in your country and purchase a download code to download it from the Mac App Store.
After upgrading, you will find iCloud in System Preferences>iCloud on your Mac, and can set it up as explained here: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/mac.html.
Before upgrading, you may want to check the compatibility of your existing programs by checking here: http://roaringapps.com/apps:table.

    Hi cdag144,
I'm sorry to hear you are having these issues with your iPad. I also apologize, I'm a bit unclear on exactly what you are seeing when you try to sync. If you are unable to sync because your iPad isn't showing up in iTunes at all (you mention it showing up as a device on the computer), you may find the troubleshooting steps outlined in the following article helpful:

iOS device backups are stored in your iTunes library.
Move your iTunes library to an external drive.

Unknown Error containing "0xE" when restoring
To resolve this issue, follow the steps in iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Unknown error containing '0xE' when connecting. If you have a Windows computer with an Intel® 5 series/3400 series chipset, you may need updates for your chipset drivers. See iTunes for Windows: Issues syncing iOS devices with P55 and related Intel Chipsets for more information.

  • HT1386 Having trouble syncing my ipad mini with iTunes

When I sync my ipad mini with my iTunes it appears the process is happening, the line indicating music is present on the ipad appears. But when the syncing is done the line disappears and no music has been loaded to the ipad.

Are you signed into the correct iD on the iPad in Settings>iTunes & App Stores>Apple ID?
Do you have Sync only  checked songs and videos selected in the Summary Tab of iTunes? If you do, are you selecting the music to sync? If you don't have that checked, have you selected the music to sync? Are you trying to sync the entire library?

  • ITunes Help! I can't sync my Ipad Mini Retina to iTunes, it doesn't even come up on the 'choose devices' screen

I can't work out how to sync my New 'Mini iPad Retina'. I am using the USB cable to attach it to my iPad and the other end into my laptop, i have signed in to iTunes, and i choose 'Devices' But it wont pop up anywhere, even waiting for 10 minutes. I also check when i plug the USB cable into my laptop, in -'Computer'
--> 'Devices' . It's not there either. Someone help please!!!!

Any one or a combo may help.
Give your mini a reset. Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds. When you see the silver apple, let go and let it reboot. Then try again.
    Try a different USB port
    Try a different cable
Is your iTUnes up to date? If not, update it.
If that doesn't work, (if you're on a PC) go into the control panel, add/remove programs and uninstall iTunes, Apple mobile device service, apple application support. THen redownload and reinstall iTunes and give it another try.

  • Why I can't sync my iPad mini?

I bought an iPad mini 2 months ago and I activated on the ipad itself, but now when I want to conect it to my iMac, it appears as the ipad was new, I don't want to erase it because I have a lot of data on it and iCloud isn't enough.

You can follow the steps outlined in this guide: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141 to establish syncing with your iTunes library without losing data.  (This was written for the iPhone, but applies equally to an iPad Mini.)  If you are using iTunes 11, first go to View>Show Sidebar to follow this guide.  Also, Transfer Purchases (step 5) is now in File>Devices.  If you aren't syncing your contacts or calendars with your computer using iTunes, you can skip step 2; just be sure not to enable syncing these on the Info tab of your iTunes sync settings prior to syncing your iPad.

  • HT2729 syncing new ipad mini with itunes

trying to sync my new ipad mini to my older macbook with itunes 10.6 it says i need 10.7.
When I check for upgrades it says mine is the latest version. Help?

The situation you are probably in is that your Mini wants a newer operating system and iTunes than your older computer can handle. It is quite common for mac apps and programs to have a limited 'backwards compatibility' where new programs and devices will cease compatibility with older devices and programs and operating systems.
Your choice will probably be to upgrade your computer or use only iCloud to sync your mini.

  • Can't find new ipad mini on itunes?

I just bought a new ipad mini and I don't see it in itunes library.

With a Mini, you must use iTunes version 11.x.

  • How can i sync 15 iPads to 1 iTunes account quickly and easily?

I am in charge of 15 iPads in my school.
I would like to sync all the ipads to one itunes account easily and quickly. At the moment i am doing this manually 1 at a time.
The ipads do all have apps on them now, but when i download new apps or software updates, i have to sync it across each ipad 1 at a time through itunes.
I would also like to create a new itunes account, to keep 1 set (15) of ipads sperate from another set we have in school. Could i transfer purchases to the new itunes from 1 iPad, then sync across the remaining 14?
We have a spare computer that could soley be used for itunes or alternatiely, i have a personal macbook pro, that has my personal library on it.
The ipads are contained in a storage/charging station, that can be connected to a pc/mac via a usb cable (connection is similar to a printer port, then into USB).
I have connected the container to the pc via USB and itunes recognises the 15 ipads, but i still have to sync them individually.
I would like to be able to connect the container, click sync and leave it over night, rather than sit there for hours.
    Is this possible?
Must be other people in similar situations as many schools have ipads now.
    Thanks in advance!

This may be over the top for 15 ipads.

  • I can't sync my iPad 3 with iTunes using the new Macbook Air

When I connect my iPad 3 with its original cable to my new MacBook Air, the charge symbol in the iPad starts to blink and the iTunes keeps connecting and disconnecting the iPad (more than one time per second).
I can sync my old iPhone 3GS with the new Macbook Air and I can sync both iPhone and iPad with my old 2009 MacBook.
I found similar questions in the forum, but didn't find a solution. I can charge my iPad using the outlet, by I still need to backup and sync the iPad.
    BTW, every software is updated.

i have the same problem. I am noy able to connect the iPad3 to my new Macbook Air. It only cycles the charging icon and itunes states the phone has been disconnected.
