It sounds like your phone is not seen in iTunes on your computer but is recognized in My Computer. You have done an excellent job troubleshooting so far, and next I recommend these steps from the article named:

4. Empty your Temp directory and restart
7. Remove and reinstall iTunes
9. Update, Reconfigure, Disable, or Remove Security Software
10. Deleting damaged or incorrect registry keys
The title mentions the iPod, but the steps will be relevant for the iPhone as well.

I had this same issue last week with my 3g. Did you happen to recently have your carrier unlock your phone? I did, and I wonder if that has anything to do with it?
For me, it started with loosing the signal, then after shutting down and turning on my phone about 3 times, I got a message saying that I would need to do a restore. When I tried to do the restore, it went through all the steps until step 6 or 7 I think and then I just get an error message on itunes that says there was error 1- or -1 and that the restore failed. My phone now just shows a pic of a usb plug with a globe above. Total fail. It was an old phone and as I was out of contract and just waiting to get the new iphone 5, I just went and got the new phone. The only issue now is that I cannot sync my new iphone and get all of my contacts, apps, files, etc etc which is totally annoying to say the least and a whole different story! -

1. When you are done Restoring Firmware, does iTunes show your iPhone's information. If yes then your iPhone is ON and working. Next step is to Reset, like you tried, but do it again, hold both Home and Power buttons until the iPhone restarts, usually less than 15 seconds. If still no screen, hold iPhone in bright light and look at screen, is an image there? If yes, you have a "No Backlight Problem".
2. If still no image, but you have confirmed iPhone is on with iTunes or switching Vibrate Switch and getting vibration. Then take iPhone to Apple and ask Genius to reconnect the Flex Cable #1 LCD Display Flex to the Logic Board. Before opening and during all repairs it is best if the iPhone 3GS is OFF. -

when i sync it comes on, however it doesnt completly sync it just says wait till applies are being changed or something like that and it can go on all night, but still nothing.

I recently changed my email address and updated my password. However, when I connect my iPhone 4 it defaults to my old email address which is no longer valid. How do I get my phone to recognize my updated email address and how do I now change the iPhone 4 to recognize the new address? I wish to delete all reference to the old address. Here is a procedure that should help.
1. Go to "Settings"
2. Go to "Mail, Contacts, Calendars"
3. Click the account you don't want anymore
4. Go to the bottom and click "Delete Account"
5. Confirm the deletion
6. Go back to "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" (if you're not there already)
7. Add your new account -
Deauthorizing iTunes on a computer? My laptop won't let me connect my iPhone because it says I'm authorized on too many computers, but when I try to de-authorize another computer I use it won't let me. What's up?
What do you mean it won't let you? What exactly does it say? (Sorry to sound so exasperated but this is like the 6th post in a row where people have made vague statements which do little to help us find solutions without a game of 20 questions.) I'm going to guess and say you can only deauthorize a computer to which you have physical access or VPN login. The alternative is to deauthorize all which you can only do once a year.

Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.) -

I am facing a weird problem with my iphone 4s Wi-Fi connectivity. As i connect my iphone to my office Wi-Fi, internet works in one building, but it doesnt work in the other building, although the phone shows Wi-Fi is connected in the other building.
