TS1538 Is there a workarround for iTunes to run on Windows XP 64 Bit SP2?

I have got a new PC with Windows XP 64 Bit SP2 operating system.
I could install the 64 Bit version of iTunes (which is actually meant for Windows Vista 64 Bit or Windows 7 64 Bit)
Version: 10.6.1
Download ID: DL1427
File Size: 73.23 MB
with only one issue: "Apple Mobile Device" could not be startet.
I have read the Apple-information: iTunes does not support 64-bit edition of Windows XP.
Is anybody aware of a workarround for XP 64 Bit?

You can run a 32 bit version of Windows XP in a virtual machine.  Microsoft is ending support for XP in less than two years, so you may want to invest in an upgrade.

  • Is there a download for itunes that runs on windows xp 64-bit

do you have an itunes download for windows xp
    64-bit

No, there is no 64 bit version that will run on XP.
However if you are prepared to to some hacking, some people have got ot to work.
    Here is an example:
    http://skunkwerks.wordpress.com/2008/04/13/getting-itunes-to-work-with-windows-x p-x64/
You may find others with Google.
iTunes itself  is a 32 bit application, the 64 bit installer has 64 bit drivers.

  • Is there a fix for iTunes not running under Windows 8.1 Operating System?

I used iTunes for Windows, on my Dell Tower PC, successfully under Windows 7 to import CD tracks and share them with my iPad and iPhone using iTunes Match but since I upgraded my operating system to Windows 8 and then 8.1, iTunes for Windows will not run, despite my downloading the latest versions as they become available; I receive no error message!

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • Re: Why won't iTune 11 run on Windows 7 64-bit???

I've been trying to download iTunes to a new Windows 7 computer with no luck. Keep getting "Apple Application Support" not found.(Error2). Saw an earlier post saying installing iTunes would refresh Apple Application Support.  Did so, and on fourth attempt got "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows Error 127).
I really need to have iTunes on this new computer!  Apple please help!!!

  • Why won't iTune 11 run on Windows 7 64-bit???

Starting 3 ior 4 weeks ago -ever since updating to iTunes 11, I have been unable to start iTunes. I have tried every suggestion in the support community posting  (and a few that were not here) all to no avail. This involved many uninstalls (including components 1 at a time), reinstalling as a package and as individual components, updating, as well as uninstalling/reinstalling the .NET framework, and a number of other things. I did get access to iTunes for a short time by removing everything and installing V9.x.x, but this version would not allow me to access my wifes iPhone (she uses my iTunes - or did anyway.) Today I once again allowed an automatic update to 11, praying that it would work. Successful install, but will not run. I get the same Error 7 (windows 127) as before. The only difference is a different dll listed. I AM SICK OF THIS!!!
If anyone from Apple monitors these boards, could you please let me know when you are going to supply a good version of iTunes? You are about to lose not 1 customer, but four, including my wife and daughters, as well as iPhone users, as we will be switching to android phone at our next wireless renewal.

    Many thanks again.
The procedure entry point FigSubtitleStringCreatePropertyList could not be located in the dynamic link library MediaToolbox.dll.
That's a less common one ... so we might be looking at incidental damage to an Apple Application Support program file rather than something specifically 11.1.4.62-related.
Restart the PC. Head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "Apple Application Support" and click "Repair".
Does the repair install go through okay? If so, can you launch iTunes without the error?

  • I can't get itunes to run with windows 7 64 bit

I just bought a new computer. I down loaded Itunes ( which intals with no issues) For some reason it will not load at all.

You need to download the 64 bit version.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1047
That should fix up any issue you are having with the loading of iTunes.

  • New itunes wont run in windows 7 64 bit even after full uninstall and reinstall

after the new itunes 2.2 came out i have been unable to get it to open or run i have fully uninstalled all elements and reinstalled and still it wont run

it just ask permision to run program then
... that's interesting. Is that one of those User Account Control type messages?
I'd like to see that screen if possible, stew. Could you take a screenshot of that permission message screen (Hold down Alt and press the PrtSc key), paste it into a Paint document (or similar image editor), and save the file. Then reply here, click the wee camera icon, do a Choose file, browse to the file, click "Open file", then click "Insert Image".

  • I have always heard that Macs are less likely to get infected with a virus.  My computer has been running much slower since I installed Maverick.  Just not sure what the problem might be.  Is there a way for me to run a diagnosis?

Some have found relief just by reinstalling, but it is more than likely incompatible third-party applications that slow it down.
You will have to investigate to see what it is.
Open Activity Monitor and see if anything is using a lot of CPU% or Memory. If they are, check to see if there is an update for them.
Another place to look is the Console. See if anything is logging repeating messages with throttling and/or respawn in the All Messages list.
Sometimes it is not that easy to root out the problems, but if you have anything that purported to clean, protect, optimize, maintain, or flush your system, then that is likely the cause.

I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?

I can't get new version of itunes to install on Windows 7 64 bit computer. Receive message that reads insufficient privileges to access c:\program files\ipod\bin. I've followed several threads I've read here but nothing is working.

For such situation, I'd suggest the following:
    1. Remove current installed office with the fix-it tool in
KB2739501, and follow the "Remove Office manually" section to make sure there are no remaining files
    2. Either download a trial version of Office 2013 from
    http://office.microsoft.com/, or from
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/jj937170
    3. Reboot your computer in clean boot mode, and run setup again

  • I cannot sync to itunes on my computer (Windows Vista 32 bit) with my mini conected.

I cannot sync to itunes on my computer (Windows Vista 32 bit) with my mini connected. What should I do?
My Mini will not boot up. I tried holding both buttons down.  I got a "connect to itunes" message. I connected. and nothing happens.

    Hello there Chess-ster,
If I understand correctly your iPad mini is not being recognized in iTunes on your Windows Vista PC. I would recommend you use the troubleshooting in the following article:
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch not recognized in iTunes for Windows
Start with these steps and work your way down as needed:
    Restart
Turn off your computer and your iOS device, then turn them on again.
    Update your computer
Check to make sure that you've installed all required updates for your computer.
    Update iTunes
Check that you have the latest version of iTunes installed on your computer.
    Check the USB cable
Verify that the 30-pin to USB cable or Lightning Connector to USB cable is free of debris and not damaged. If another cable is available, test with that cable instead.
USB cables that are bundled with third-party products or accessories might work only to charge those products and might not transmit data. Also, if you're using a third-party case or extended battery pack, try removing the case and connecting the Apple-supplied USB cable directly to your device.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Sterling
