TS1559 4s iphone grayed out wifi and have taken all steps and still no wifi
I have turned the phone on and off. Reset the network. Reset the entire phone and still no wifi. When I updated it has never worked properly.
I have read that many people are having this problem. Why does Apple not have a fix for this. It is obviously something wrong with the phone.
If anyone has any suggestions on how to reset the phone to get back Wifi let me know.
Grayed out WiFi is almost always a hardware failure that requires replacment or repair of the phone. If you tried everything in the article that led you here without success, take to to Apple or an Apple authorized service provider.
FYI, do NOT try the "freezer" or "hairdryer" methods you may see posted. At best, they are only temporarly fixes and are likely to cause more damage.

Software with a corporate brand, such as Adobe Flash Player, must be downloaded directly from the developer’s website. No intermediary is acceptable.
Disable Java (not JavaScript) in your web browser(s). Few websites have Java content nowadays, so you won’t be missing much. This setting is mandatory in Mac OS X 10.5.8 or earlier, because Java in those versions has bugs that make it unsafe to use on the Internet. Those bugs will probably never be fixed, because those older operating systems are no longer being maintained by Apple. Migrate to a newer version of the Mac OS as soon as you can.
Follow these guidelines, and you’ll be as safe from malware as you can reasonably be.
Never install any commercial "anti-virus" products for the Mac, as they all do more harm than good. If you need to be able to detect Windows malware in your files, use ClamXav — nothing else. -

When is the newest, latest update coming out? I have a bug. I can't use my wifi. I can't even tap the wifi , it's all grayed out. I have an iPhone 3g.
There are no more future updates for iPhone 3G. There is probably a hardware issue with your phone that an update would not fix.

I am unable to see the airplay icon on my macbook air, iphone or iPad which would enable me to use my Bose speaker through airplay. I set this up in the UK but have taken my macbook and bose speaker travelling with through Thailand. Ive wifi in my room and am able to access the internet on my laptop, Ive also been able to through the Bose Soundlink air wifi set application connect the bose speaker to the Wifi too.
I am only able to play my itunes through my macbook speakers and cannot find the airplay button which should be next to the volume slide once turned down to less than 1/3 of the volume..Thanks for your help. Since I'm uninterested in loading all my photos (the only option) into photostream, I won't be able to use the settings in ATV. I guess I'm just stuck with using iPhoto on my MB Air. Thanks again.

My iPhone 5 keeps freezing when I connect to wifi, not just freeze the wifi, but freezes the whole phone and have to hold home and lock button. Locks up completely and instantly when I turn on wifi and connect. Solutions?
1. If you are really on iOS 7.1, you may wish to try upgrading to 8.1.2 which is the latest (basing this on your signature).
2. If updating the phone doesn't help, is this only when you connect to a specific wifi network? Or all wifi networks (including public with no password)? If it is ALL wifi networks, you may have a hardware problem. Genius bar would be the next step.

I reinstalled iPhoto 9.1 and now I can't drag and drop photos to the desktop. The photos have a grayed out flag in the upper left corner and a pull down menu in the bottom right. Please help.

The App store, FaceTime, iTunes, Safari and Camera are all missing from my iPad. Restrictions are not enabled and when they are those applications are grayed out. I have tried everything but restoring my iPad to its orginal condition. What do I do?

Mac and iPad connect to wifi, iPhone will not. I have tried all resets besides the "erase all contents and settings" and nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?

Did you check the side control and make sure it isn't on mute. Up for ringer down for mute.

If i back up my phone due to the wifi option being grayed out it says to connect to itunes and reset my phone but everything will get deleted that wont happen if everything is in my icloud account correct
If Wi-Fi is greyed out, it is not possible to backup to iCloud.
If the device is backed up to iTunes and contacts, calendars, notes, etc are synced to a supported application or cloud service, and media and pictures are on the computer, then a restore will not cause any data to be lost. -
Why do songs arrive on my iPhone grayed out?
Whenever I buy an iTune online using the computer, the title arrives on my iPhone grayed out and the song will not play unless I sync the phone by USB. I have the phone set for automatic downloads of music and apps.

It sounds like your songs are not downloading using Automatic Downloads on your iPhone. It may be that you are on a cellular data network, and you do not have the option to download it over the cellular data network turned on:
You can enable or disable Automatic Downloads over your cellular network on an iPhone or iPad Wi-Fi + 3G. To do so, tap the On/Off switch next to Cellular in Settings > iTunes & App Stores. Cellular downloads are limited to a file size of 50 MB or smaller.

Photos from my iphone and ipad are going into my photo stream on the devices but aren't going into the folder on my windows PC. They used to but they suddenly stopped. Has anyone else had this same problem?. I have checked all settings and they appear OK
