My wifi button is grey and wont turn on, i just got this phone and i have tried reseting the network setting and restarting the software but nothing happends. What should i do?!

I had the same issue. (4s 7.03) I got a replacement 4s and I still have the same issue 3 days later. I wonder if apple will let me upgrade to 5s?

MY 4s is just another piece of junk .... wifi ,blue tooth ,hot spot setting all greyed out......told to do all the same things . I am confindent it is software related , however I can not go back and try to reinstall the firm ware or software piror to this ... last comments where is all else fails return it ....... so glad I picked Iphone over all the other brands.... At least they don,t have these issues.. life would be so boring if I could just pick up my phone ,connect to blue tooth and recieve a call while driving ....create a hot spot to connect the kids note books ,to entertain them ............ 1. Verify that airplane mode is off by tapping Settings > Airplane Mode.

My iPhone 4s wifi is highlighted grey and wont turn on?

I have an iPhone 4s and all of a sudden, randomly, my wifi has stopped working. It has come up highlighted in grey and i cannot swipe the on/off button, therefore i am unable to use my wifi. I have tried resetting the network and the phone itself and i have had no change. Also i have no insurance so if my iPhone has broken, so wold i be able to get it replaced as the problem was not caused by me, but the phone itself? or will i have to put up with this?

This almost always indicates a hardware problem that requires replacement. However, try the suggestions in the following support article:

If your phone is still under warranty or AppleCare coverage, it probably will get replaced for free. If not, epect to pay for an out of warranty replacement ($199 in USA)

You should get it looked at by visiting an Authorized Apple Service Provider or an Apple Store next to your place, this might be a hardware issue.

Just to add my 2p worth.
I turned the light on the phone on and kept doing video recording to drain the battery, I let it die completely, recharged it and the wireless came back on. Powering on and off through the software and power on buttons didn't work. None of the other suggestions I'd read were any help, and to be honest some were stupid. Your method of draining the battery is up to you, the light and video is a good way to drain it quickly.
The best thing I can think of is that there is some hardware on the wifi that gets put in an inconsistent state and that powering on and off does not fix it as there could be some sort of trickle going through the hardware to keep it alive. Draining the battery allows the hardware to be really turned off and it puts it back into the right state.
Of course your milage may vary, but its a simple option to try and costs nothing.

Power button flashes once and wont turn on.

When I press the power button on the computer the power button light flashes once and won't turn on when I plug the a.c. adapter in it shows that it's charging and plugged in, but anytime I press the power button it flashes once but will never turn on! :/ I tried unplugging the adapter hold the power button for 30 seconds and connecting the adapter back to the computer but it does the same thing.. Any advice would be AMAZING! Thanks !

Remove everyhting from your pc. INCLUDING KEYBOARD. and try again. On 2 different occassions the keyboard was to blame. Some spill on keyboard caused motherboard not to power up.
Remove KB, Ram, Hdd, DISPLAY (Lcd cable might be shorting as well) etc.etc. Leave motherboard alone but power sithc connected. Even if you disconnect the fan cable it would help. If you see anything on your screen after you removed fan too then turn it off immediately and connect the fan back and try again then add up other components one by one. If none works then i am sorry the board you have is faulty.
or it may need a bios recovery.
