Follow this article: iOS: Wi-Fi settings grayed out or dim
If that fails to resolve the issue, follow this article: iOS: How to back up your data and set up your device as a new device
If that fails, the device has a hardware fault. -
Tried the below and still no good - any suggestions
iOS: Wi-Fi settings grayed out or dim
Symptoms
In rare instances, the setting to turn on Wi-Fi on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch may appear grayed out or dim. You may see the following when you tap Settings > Wi-Fi.
If this occurs, you can't turn Wi-Fi on, and when you try to turn Wi-Fi on, your device won't respond. If you're using iOS 7, Wi-Fi may appear to turn on and off in Control Center, but Wi-Fi won't respond.
Resolution
Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
Restart your iOS device.
Make sure that airplane mode is off by tapping Settings > Airplane Mode.
Reset the network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
This will reset all network settings, including Bluetooth pairing records, Wi-Fi passwords, VPN, and APN settings.
Make sure that your device is using the latest software. To do so, connect your device to your computer and check for updates in iTunes.
If you still can't turn Wi-Fi on, please contact Apple for support and service options. If you can turn Wi-Fi on but are experiencing other issues with Wi-Fi, please see these steps.
Last Modified: Dec 9, 2013Your device has a hardware failure and only replacement or repair will fix it. Take it to an Apple Store or an Apple authorized service provider.

TS1559 iOS: Wi-Fi and Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim
I have done everything from "Reset Network Settings" to "Erase All Content and Settings" and finally restoring the iOS Software (7.0.6), but the Wi-Fi settings are still grayed out. Bluetooth is also not getting enabled. Can anyone suggest what can be done?

TS1559 Wi-Fi settings grayed out or dim and no connection or wi-fi address
Having problems with my Wi-Fi settingsthey appeared grayed out or dim and no connection or wi-fi address. All other Mac devices ( other IPhones, laptops and Ipads are connected} and Ihave never had this problem before.
got it.
the text was confusing to me, talking about other Macs, etc...
I agree, restore, repair or new purchase are the only options I can think of.

HT1414 i reseted my iphone to factory setting and Wi-Fi settings grayed out or dim
So my Iphone Wi-if is grayed out, leaving me no option to turn on my wifi.
I tried resetting and restoring my iphone already..
Please help i do not want to constantly use my data. thanks !I have the same problem with my iPhone 4S. I called the lab and they told me this can only happen by getting the iPhone wet or hot, my iPhone never got wet so the only option left was that it got hot so I read somewhere online that you can stick it in a refrigerator for some minutes and then the Wi-Fi will get back but I didn't know for how many minutes so put it in the freezer for 20 minutes and then the Wi-Fi came back but only for 30 minutes because it got hot again. The lab also told me that this was a hardware problem with the inner panel of the iPhone. And they can only fix it if it's still responding but if it's not responding they can't fix it, only Apple can, because they don't sell the panel to other stores. The catch was that if they open the iPhone and find out they can't fix it not only that it cost me money also I lose the warranty and Apple won't take back the phone and replace it or fix it, or if they do it will cost me more money.
So if anyone could tell me if they know how many minutes to put it in the freezer or if they know about another solution that could be a lot of help because I don't live in a country where there are any Apple stores.
Thanks, and good luck;) -
Restart your iOS device.
So i did that but still nothing.
I also tried turning the phone on and offMost people would read the ENTIRE article and follow all the instructions.
Specifically:
If you still can't turn Wi-Fi on, please contact Apple for support and service options. If you can turn Wi-Fi on but are experiencing other issues with Wi-Fi, please see these steps. -
I lost the WIFI option. I reinstalled the IOS. I done all types of reset and nothing happened.
What do you mean how can you get your phone replaced? Bring it in to Apple.
