Importing pics from computer to iPhone
I have a first generation iPhone and have tried to import a file of pics from my computer TO my phone (via iTunes). I select the folder and iTunes appears to be importing the pics...but it isn't. There are no new additions to my pics on my phone. Is anyone else having this problem? Do I HAVE to use iPhoto to do this, maybe? (I'd prefer not.)
Page 11 of the manual:
"Photos Pane
You can sync photos with iPhoto 4.0.3 or later, or Aperture on a Mac; or with Adobe
Photoshop Album 2.0 or later, or Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 or later on a PC. You
can also sync photos in any folder on your computer that contains images. "

Have tried re-building database and it crashed
Library is located on Path: /Users/New User/Pictures/iPhoto Library/Library on my Hard Disk
No updates or upgrades prior to problems
Managed or Referenced Library, my version does not appear to have this option?
I'm running a Mac Pro and my main drive of 3 hard drives has 238.24 GB of available space
The strange thing is I have 3 different logins, one for my iphone, one for my partners iphone and one for our ipad, when I back my phone up I have 3000+ photo's in iphoto and it crashes when it gets to the last 300 or so, same for my partners iphone which has 2000+ photo's, but I tried the ipad which has 600 pictures on the library and it back-up fine without crashing?
I look forward to your reply and thanks in advance for your help/reply -

1) How to for dummies: sync itunes with pc to import pics from apple iphone, 5c, 7.1.2., to pc?
2) How to delete photos from iphone (when I pick a pic there's no option to delete from trash icon)?
3) How do I get the app (VS) VarageSale back on my phone screen? It is only listed in settings > notifications.
4) Or how do I delete the VS from settings, so I can reinstall?
NOTE: I have been to Verizon and they could not help me and it is too far to go to an apple store. I have downloaded the apple manual and it is toooooo technical for me.If you don't have a backup of your pc, you will have to use a third party solution to get your music back. Wiki has a [comparison of ipod managers|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparisonof_iPodManagers] here which you can look through to see if any meet your needs. I have used [CopyTrans|http://www.copytrans.net/copytrans.php] successfully but I did purchase it so I don't know what the free version supports.
You can [download purchased Apps for free|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519] but that won't work for music, movies, etc.
Hope that answers your question. Sorry about your lack of backup. Better luck next time. -
long story short...i attempted to import pics from iphoto to a folder on my desktop but somehow clicked desktop so 45,000 pics loaded to my desktop and now my computer freezes up after trying to load everything, and i'm not able to just drag the photos into the folder. is it possible to reverse this? what are my options? restore hd from time machine?
a further question to restoring my hd from a previous backup on time machine...it says it will erase the hd. does it actually erase everything or does it just erase anything that may have been added or downloaded since that backup? this is confusing to me.
another problem which is part of the original problem is it seems that when i connect my iphone to my computer and iphoto uploads my pics...it doesn't just upload new ones, it duplicates and uploads every picture again...which is why i have 45,000 pics...they are 40,000 duplicates! what's up with that?
I have a macbook pro, and recently updated the os to Yosemite. the iphoto app is out of date, but i'll worry about that once i can figure out how to get all those pics off the desktop. also, i recently purchased and installed 8g of new ram, but that hasn't seemed to help.
any advice would be appreciated!
thanks!!thanks for replying.
the booting and walking away and then attempting to browse and clean method is what i've been trying to do. it won't let me drag and drop and just freezes up and goes to sleep after 2 minutes. it's a never ending battle with very few results. which is why i questioned the method of just restoring the hd from a time machine backup.
do you think restoring the hd from time machine will resolve the issue with all pics on the desktop? and everything will be as it was from the date i restore it from? sorry, as you can tell, i'm not overly computer savvy.
i have a really old desktop mac...i can try connecting the two...how does one boot a mac in 'target mode'?
as for the iphoto cleaning and organizing issue...that is what i was trying to accomplish with importing them to a folder. was going to browse and clean from there...but somehow imported to desktop which is what's complicating everything. once i get them off the desktop i can work on the iphoto issue...which as i mentioned...i didn't take 45,000 pics...i've just taken about 4,500 over the last few years, and they are being duplicated in iphoto. this was my attempt to clean it out entirely and start over. it will basically be a lot of deleting.
one problem, seems to lead me to more...which is just my luck. :-)
thanks again, for your help. -
How can I transfer a pic from iMac to iPhone?
How can I transfer a pic from iMac to iPhone?
See this page: Ways to import photos
If you have an iCloud account, turn on My Photo Stream to make new photos appear automatically in iPhoto on your device; or turn on iCloud Photo Sharing to have your shared photo streams automatically appear in iPhoto.
Sync photos from your Mac o to the Photos app on your device using iTunes. If you don’t have iTunes on your computer, you can download it for free.
Import full-resolution photos from your Mac directly into iPhoto using iTunes file sharing. Your photos appear in the iTunes album in iPhoto.
Mail you photo and save it to the camera roll from Mail.
Sync photos and video clips using iTunes
Connect your iOS device to your computer.Note: If Wi-Fi syncing is on in iTunes, you don’t need to connect the device to your computer, but they both need to be on the same Wi-Fi network, and the computer needs to be on. For more information on Wi-Fi syncing with iTunes, see your device’s user guide.
In iTunes, select your device and click Photos at the top of the window.
Select “Sync Photos from” and select the photos you want to sync to your device. On a Mac with photos in an iPhoto or Aperture library, selecting an album or event organizes the photos as an album or event in iPhoto. You can sync your entire library or select specific albums and events. On a Windows computer, selecting a folder organizes the photos as an album in iPhoto.
If you want to sync video clips, select the “Include videos” checkbox.
Click Apply.
When the sync is complete, click next to your device, and disconnect your device.
Import photos using iTunes file sharing (you need iPhoto on your iPhone to do this)
In iTunes, select your device and click Apps at the top of the window.
Below File Sharing, select iPhoto, and click Add.
In the window that appears, select the photos you want to import, and click Add.The photos are transferred to your device and appear in your iPhoto library the next time you open iPhoto. Photos transferred to iPhoto using file sharing appear only in the iPhoto library, not in the Photos app. -
I just upgraded to Snow Leopard, and I have Aperture 3.1.3. Now after I import pics from my camera I get a dialogue box so large that I can't see the eject card button. Consequently, I can't get rid of the dialogue box without having to do a force quit on Aperture. How do I fix?
I can drag the dialog box, but I can't move it up far enough to get to the eject card button. The dialogue box contains all the jpeg Numbers I am trying to upload. It has never done that before. It used to be just a smal dialogue box with no jpeg numbers in it.
It is even difficult to get to the Finder with the Dialague box is open. I have to force quit aperture.
Any ideas would be appreciated. -

Trouble importing pics from Canon Powershot
I am not able to import pics from a Canon Powershot S400 even though I was able to do this before on my iBook G4. I have iPhoto version 5.0.4 and Mac OSX 10.4.10. The iBookG4 is recognizing the Canon, the number of pics to be
imported but does not progress any further. If you click Stop Import an error message comes up that the pics are unreadable. I am able to download them however, on an earlier version (iPhoto 4.0.3) on another laptop.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. If your camera has a "communications" setting in the menu, make sure it is set to "PTP/Print" and not "PC Communications"

How to import photo from laptop to iphone? is it possible?
how to import photo from laptop to iphone? is it possible to do so?
You're welcome.
The photos are imported from the Camera Roll, not synced.
Mac or Windoze PC?
Which application on your computer are you using for the import?
With a Mac, both iPhoto and the Image Capture application include an option and a prompt to delete the photos from the Camera Roll are the import process is complete - as when importing photos from any other digital camera.
The Windoze Scanner and Camera Wizard includes the same. -
How to import photo from album in Iphone into computer?
How to import photo from album in Iphone into computer?
You can't. You can import from the Camera Roll only.
Photos transferred from your computer to your iPhone via the iTunes sync/transfer process should remain on your computer. Photos transferred from your computer are optimized for viewing on your iPhone via the iTunes sync/transfer process - the original resolution of these photos is reduced, which is why transferring these photos in the opposite direction is not supported. These photos should remain on your computer and be included with your computer's backup.
There are some 3rd party paid utilities that provide for transferring these photos in the opposite direction but such utilities are not supported by Apple and the original resolution of these photos will be lost.
Here is one such utility.
