TS1569 Dual bluetooth keyboard : no pairing

Hi,
I have two aluminum bluetooth keyboards (different layouts).
After restarting my computer one of them stopped working.
After "forgetting" it I can't even pair with it again. I have tried turing it off and on again.
Thanks in advance,

Troubleshooting your keyboard
If you are unable to see your keyboard when you attempt to pair it with Apple TV, check that your keyboard is:
Powered on and in range of your Apple TV
Set for discovery or pairing
A blinking LED indicates that the Apple Wireless Keyboard is in the discoverable mode. If you don't pair your keyboard with your Mac within three minutes, the indicator light and keyboard will turn off to preserve battery life. If this happens, press the On/Off switch to turn your keyboard on again.
When using third-party devices, check with the keyboard manufacturer for additional information.
Not paired or connected to another device
If your keyboard responds intermittently or cannot maintain a connection:
Ensure that the keyboard has sufficient charge or fresh batteries
Check for nearby sources of interference, including other wireless devices, Bluetooth transmitters, and so on
Try unpairing and then repairing your keyboard with Apple TV
Best of luck,
Mario

apple bluetooth keyboard is paired but not connecting to laptop.  mouse works fine.

i am finding it depends greatly on the batteries you put in
I work for a company that produces batteries...ours work, other brands sometimes do not. if they are manufactured just a hair out of spec, they wont connect consistently...
    they must wobble cuasing flucuations
same with the mouse...if you use a bit of blue tack, it holds the batteries in, problems solved
the keyboard is a little different and I cant figure out a macguiver fix

  • Can't get Apple bluetooth keyboard to pair with iPad mini.  It pairs okay with my Touch.

Is there a problem with the new operating system on the iPad that keeps the Apple bluetooth keyboard from pairing?

I have the same issue after todays upgrade.
Solved by using third party bluetooth dongle
    Definitely a yosemite software issue.

  • Bluetooth keyboard loosing pairing on logoff/shutdown

We have a computer in a conferance room with a bluetooth keyboard and mouse attached.  After turning off the HD protection we were able to keep the mouse pairing after a reboot and keep them paired after turning back on the HD protection but still unable to keep the keyboard paired.
We are able to re-pair the keyboard each time by going through the discovery process but the room is used by various users that don't always know the correct process and this can happen after hours when on IT support on on-site.
Again, if the HD protection is turned off or even set to allow the changes to be saved, the keyboard will pair automatically at boot and function correctly.  The computer is a Dell as well as the mouse and keyboard.  Any troubleshooting would be helpful as we are required to keep the device locked down.

    Hi Mike,
    Thank you for posting here!
    How about the following process?
    1. Configure Windows Disk Protection (WDP) to “Retain all changes permanently”
    2. Configure the Bluetooth devices.
    3. Restart the computer to save changes.
    4. Restore WDP to “Remove all changes at restart”
    5. Restart the computer to test.
If this issue persists, there may be conflicts between the device and WDP driver.
What about "Retain changes temporarily" mode? It will cache the changes temporarily until the time you specified. We can configure it to another day or next week to test.
    Hope the above information helps.
    Best Regards,

  • Apple Bluetooth keyboard unsuccessful pairing in Windows 8.1 using Bootcamp 5.1

This is in regards to a MacBook Pro "Core i7" 2.4 15" Late 2011. The keyboard is an Apple Bluetooth keyboard.
When I start windows, then open bluetooth devices, then hold down the power button on the keyboard, then click the "Pair" button, suddenly it tells me that the pairing was unsuccessful. I don't ever get to the part where I enter in the numbers into the keyboard, as I know that is the next step.
I have tried going into the device manager and enabling the bluetooth collaboration in the broadcom 802.11 device in the network devices but that doesn't solve my issue.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance!

all the windows in the non-primary monitor moves to the primary monitor
For me this only happens when I switch accounts.  Does Hibernation work?
Another weird thing that happens then is how I can restore my IE windows.  I always use IE Fullscreen when I'm working, so usually after the problem occurs I will find an IE window on my Tablet still in Fullscreen mode.  Then, instead of just flipping
it back with Win-Shift-CursorLeft, what I have found works better is to just press F11.  Doing that inexplicably restores the IE window on the secondary monitor but no longer in Fullscreen mode.  Then pressing F11 again, restores it to Fullscreen
mode still on the secondary.  If I try to flip it over normally the recovery procedure is less elegant but I guess equivalent.  Fortunately, I usually only have IE windows on that other monitor, so there's not that much inconvenience for me when
it happens--just the slight irritation of the quirkiness.
Actually I just realized there could be another workaround.  What happens if you try to use the Win-P function as soon as possible to ensure that the Extend display state is in effect?  I think the reason this happens is that both monitors are
not being sensed soon enough, so this could be a way of avoiding that problem.  TBD.
Also, I'll try to remember to try Hibernation myself and see what difference it makes.  TBD.

  • Logitech bluetooth keyboard stopped pairing w/ MacBookPro

My Logitech K760 bluetooth keyboard paired/worked great until roughly June 2014, but ever since then it won't fully pair.  When I attempt to connect it seems successful until the end of the process when you're asked to enter a series of numbers to fully connect the keyboard.   It either keeps spinning and never connects, or after a minute it times out and says the pairing attempt was unsuccessful.
I've had multiple tech support calls with Logitech and the best they can tell me is that there must have been a "program update" on Apple's end that changed the keyboard's ability to connect.  I CAN connect just fine to my iphone 5 and my ipad, so I know the keyboard is fully operational.
My MBP is mid-2009 running on OS X 10.6.8 (I'd previously upgraded to Mountain Lion and my hard drive failed. When serviced by Genius Bar I was told not to upgrade past Snow Leopard on my replacement hard drive since it wouldn't be able to handle a higher OS, and the upgrade is actually what caused my hard drive failure).
Any suggestions or idea would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you!

I got the same issue with my son's imac today. Tried everything as you have, inc pairing with my macbook. It recognised the keyboard as an other device but would not pair

  • Apple Bluetooth keyboard not pairing under Bootcamp/Windows7

My Apple keyboard that came with MacPro1.1 does not pair when using it with BootCamp and Windows 7. I installed bootcamp and Windows7 today. My machine is running OSX 10.6.8 and Bluetooth software version 2.4.5f3. The Apple mouse pairs under Windows but the keyboard doesn't. I have searched through forums and learned that I need to do the following:
a- Change Bluetooth drivers under Windows to Apple drivers,
b- First rename then remove both mouse and keyboard under OSX,
c- Add both mouse and keyboard under Windows 7.
d- Add both mouse and keyboard under OSX.
During step c above, the mouse pairs without ant problem but the keyboard does not. The keyboard is discovered but does not ask for a code to pair as it does under OSX. I do not have Apple keyboardand Mouse firmware upgrade CD (why would Apple not provide it as a download?).
    Any ideas?

  • Apple Bluetooth Keyboard Not Pairing

    Hello,
My sister in law's bluetooth apple keyboard is not working. Last night it kept loosing its signal. This morning it stopped working. She has reset it and put new batteries in. It sees the keyboard and the mouse is working, but it gives the following error.
"the pairing attempt was unsuccessful. make sure your keyboard is in range of the computer turned on and discoverable. when ready click continue to try again"
I am in a different state so I can see exactly whats going on. She's had this computer for a couple of years and unfortunately doesn't have apple care. I assume that she has the firmware update, but we cannot get it installed to make sure she has it because its requiring a password and doesn't have another keyboard.
    Can you help?

  • Function keys are not working on a paired apple bluetooth keyboard

hello, I just got this apple bluetooth keyboard and paired it to my ipad2. The letter and number keys are working perfectly fine, but my ipad will not respond to F1 to F12 keys,I tried Fn+F1-F12 they are not working. Then I tried to restart both my ipad and keyboard but the problem is still there. Additionally, Command+arrows can't function either. command+space is working though. Could some one please help? thanks a lot!

It might have been functionality that Apple has removed in the current version of iOS.  This old web article says the function keys worked in iOS3, but that's a couple of years ago:

  • Problems pairing bluetooth keyboard in bootcamp

    Hi.
I've searched exhaustively for the answer to this problem, but haven't yet found a solution. A few users have reported this particular problem before, but their discussion threads seem to go unanswered, so either they've given up, or found a solution and never posted it. I promise, if I find a satisfactory resolution, I will report it here!
Here is my dilemma: I have a Windows XP SP3 Bootcamp partition (v2.1) set up on my 2007 Santa Rosa MBP, that I've been using predominantly in Parallels. The reason I avoid booting directly into Windows at startup, is because I can't seem to get my Apple Bluetooth keyboard (the last-gen transparent model) to pair when using Windows natively via Bootcamp.
I've read all of the suggestions and standard instructions on how to pair a device using the bluetooth device wizard in XP, rolling back drivers to earlier versions, uninstalling the apple drivers, etc., and none of them seem to work.
First, when I try to add the keyboard, I can get to the point where I enter a passkey (e.g., 00000000), but when I click next, it BYPASSES the step where I am supposed to enter the passkey using the bluetooth keyboard, and says that it successfully added the device. It then shows up in the device list, without a passkey, but the keyboard never works, and when I close and re-open the bluetooth devices pane, it disappears from the list of devices. I've attempted this set-up probably 30+ times, and everytime, it ends the same way. To make sure it wasn't the bluetooth radio malfunctioning under Windows, I added my bluetooth phone, and it paired just fine. Also, the keyboard works normally when I boot into Leopard, so it's not a defective keyboard or a battery problem.
Next, I've tried some of the other suggestions I've found, such as removing the batteries to "reset" the keyboard, updating the bluetooth drivers (they're from the 2.1 Bootcamp release), uninstalling the drivers altogether, rolling back the drivers to earlier versions, and none of those have worked either.
Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong, or has anyone gotten their Apple bluetooth keyboard to pair properly when running Windows via Bootcamp? I'm wondering if this has to do with XP SP3 (which I installed AFTER upgrading to Bootcamp 2.1) or bootcamp 2.1 itself, or maybe a driver conflict???
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    SUCCESS! FINALLY!
OK, I'm happy to say, I am at last typing this message on my bluetooth keyboard while running XP via Bootcamp. Hopefully this will help anyone else who encounters this problem.
The first issue, that Flying Dutchman helped me out with, was that my keyboard could be detected by the Windows Bluetooth Device wizard, but it wouldn't pair properly. After UN-pairing the keyboard in mac os X, and rebooting in Windows, I was able to successfully pair the keyboard using a passkey.
The keyboard still didn't work, though, and after searching around some more, I discovered the problem was that I had to enable the "Driver for keyboard, mice, etc (HID)" service by clicking the properties button for the keyboard (in the bluetooth control panel device list), and then check the box under the services tab. I had tried doing this before, but everytime I would do this and hit 'apply', I would get an error that said "access denied". So I kept giving up on this, but this was the step I needed. Finally, I googled around and found this very helpful discussion:
    http://www.sean-ward.com/2008/08/01/bluetoothaccess_denied_issue_andresolution/
It explains how to fix the "access denied" problem so you can check the services box. I had to restart a couple of times and re-pair the keyboard, but at last it works!
Now the final question is what will happen when I go back to mac os X and repair my keyboard on that side... but that's an issue for another day.
    Cheers!

  • Keyboard Update Broke Apple Bluetooth Keyboard

Nice going, Apple. Your handy little update now prevents my (formerly) flawlessly working Apple Bluetooth keyboard from pairing. Bravo! Maybe you can teach Microsoft some lessons...

Have you tried deleting the pairing and then using the Bluetooth Setup Assistant to re-pair with your iMac?

  • Iconia W700: Bluetooth keyboard not detected in Windows 10 x64

I am in the process of updating all the computers in my house to Windows 10 and it has been fairly painless so far for most of the devices. However, I cannot get my Iconia W700 tablet to recognize the Bluetooth keyboard. It is the keyboard with integrated cover, and I've followed the procedure, as stated on Acer's website, of holding the power button on the keyboard for 5 seconds to put it into discovery mode, and then adding a device from the Bluetooth device menu. Obviously the menus have new locations, but are not hard to find. I updated the Bluetooth driver on the tablet but that did not remedy the issue. I looked around and couldn't find any mention of this problem here or elsewhere, probably since Windows 10 just launched a few days ago.

Ok, so I'm not sure if the driver was actually the issue, but the Acer documentation on putting the Bluetooth keyboard into pairing mode requires you to press and hold the power button until the two LEDs on the keyboard start to alternate like on a police car. If someone is reading this and this still doesn't allow you to pair the keyboard, then here are the steps to get the proper Bluetooth driver: Open the Device Manager (right-click windows icon in bottom left)Expand the "Bluetooth" category in the Device ManagerRight click the Bluetooth driver (should be the first in the list if there are multiple devices listed)Click UninstallRestart the tablet. The Bluetooth driver will be reinstalled on reboot.Open the Device Manager again after you log inRight click the Bluetooth driver and click "Update Driver Software..."Select the option for Windows to search for the driver software. An update should be downloaded and installed. Now repeat the pairing steps detailed above, and you should see an option to pair the keyboard appear in your Bluetooth settings.I've subscribed to this thread so if anyone has a problem, just reply and I will try to help you sort it out.

  • TS1569 My Apple Bluetooth Keyboard (2003, White) won't pair with my MacBook Pro

My Apple Bluetooth Keyboard (2003, White) won't pair with my MacBook Pro anymore.  It seems just randomly became unresponsive.  I took them both to the genius bar and everything worked fine.  When I got home, NOTHING worked! Any Ideas??
The batteries are fine, and it will not pair with my wife's MacBook either.

iPhones and Macbooks cannot pair to each other except for internet sharing.
Most Bluetooth operations between them (like Airdrop) do not require they be paired.
What exactly are you attempting to do by pairing them?
