TS1569 My Apple Bluetooth Keyboard (2003, White) won't pair with my MacBook Pro

My Apple Bluetooth Keyboard (2003, White) won't pair with my MacBook Pro anymore.  It seems just randomly became unresponsive.  I took them both to the genius bar and everything worked fine.  When I got home, NOTHING worked! Any Ideas??
The batteries are fine, and it will not pair with my wife's MacBook either.

iPhones and Macbooks cannot pair to each other except for internet sharing.
Most Bluetooth operations between them (like Airdrop) do not require they be paired.
What exactly are you attempting to do by pairing them?

  • IPhone 4 bluetooth won't pairing with my MacBook Pro and Blackberry

I just bought an iPhone 4 few days ago, but seems I'm having an issue in pairing my iPhone with my Blackberry Bold 9700, and the worst part is I can't even pairing it with my MacBook Pro 13" 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. All devices has been in "discovery" mode, but my iPhone can't recognize any of those devices. On the other side my MBP and Blackberry recognizing my iPhone, but can not be pairing.
Anyone could help me on this? I've been trying to search for the answer in the forum but can't find it. I found some subjects regarding iPhone bluetooth issue but can't find the answer of my problem.
    Thanks,

Just sync, I'm not sure what else it is suppose to be able to do as I am yet to achieve a connection.
I am assuming it should be able to sync my library, playlists, etc.

  • Macally BT mouse won't pair with new macbook pro 13!?!

Tried deleting pref. file, reset pram, nothing will get this mouse to pair with my new computer, mouse works with other mbp w/snowleopard.

Ha, they dont even want to let me download lion with this new machine I just bought less than a month ago.
Not sure I undertstand that.  You machine came with lion didn't it?
This is not an isolated problem however, I've read alot of other people with this same situation going on, so I think I'm going to try putting snow-leopard on this thing and see if I can narrow it down to an oversight/bug w/os x 10.7.2.
Ok, I'm confused.  Did you intend to say you are going to try to put lion 10.7.0, or 10.7.1?  The reason I ask is that if yours is a new machine that came with lion, then from what I read you cannot install a version of the OS earlier than what was originally installed on your machine.  Check some of the hits on this google search.

  • I have an old Apple bluetooth keyboard I'm attempting to pair to my MacBookPro.  Computer finds the device but can't connect to it.  Tips?

I have an old Apple bluetooth keyboard I'm trying to pair with my laptop.  The computer detects the keyboard but says it's unable to connect.  The keyboard is model no. A1016 and is 5+ years old, at least.  Can anyone advise on this? Is this keyboard obsolete? If so, do you have a favorite keyboard you'd like to recommend?

The ATV only supports bluetooth for keyboards.

  • My Apple bluetooth keyboard synchs but won't type.

My Apple bluetooth keyboard synchs with my iPhone 4s, and will control screen brightness and sound volume, but characters don't appear when I type.  The keyboard worked without problems some months back (before latest IOS update).  Are there any fixes for this?

  • Bose Bluetooth wave III won't sinc with my MacBook Pro. What should I do?

I purchased a Wave III with Doc & Bluetooth adapters. How do I connect to my MacBook Pro & iPhone 5?

On your Wave III remote, press "Aux" until "Bluetooth" appears, then hold down the presets "5" button until "Discoverable" appears. Open your mac's bluetooth in system preferences and it should show up and pair. It worked perfectly for me.

  • Why won't my Apple keyboard pair with my Macbook Pro?  Everything's discoverable...the light is blinking...the Macbook pro picks up other bluetooth...It's not paired with anything else?

    Hello,
My wireless keyboard was paired with my iPad for a while, with no problem. Today I've unpaired it and tried to add it to my MBP (which I've done plenty of times in the past with sucess) but it's just not discovering it today.
Bluetooth is on, my laptop is discoverable
The MBP is picking up my phone, the iPad can see the MBP
The keyboard is turned on and blinking
Whether I try to 'set up new bluetooth keyboard' from Sys Preferences or 'set up bluetooth device' from Bluetooth menu, nothing happens.
    Any ideas?
I've tried removing batteries, retarting the laptop..... Why should I try next?
    Thanks in advance everyone

    1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn off Bluetooth on the device.
    2. Hold Power button of your keyboard until the light stops blinking.
    3. On the Mac, go to System Preferences > Keyboard > Set Up Bluetooth Keyboard.
    4. Turn on the keyboard. If it doesn't connect to the Mac, press any key of the wireless keyboard.
    5. When the keyboard appears on your Mac, choose Continue

  • White A1016 wireless keyboard not pairing with new MacBook Pro

I still have (and love) the original white bluetooth Mac keyboard (model A1016, with numeric keypad and function keys). It won't pair to my new MacBook Pro. It's discoverable, appears in the list, I can select it and try to pair. Then it sits with the spinning wheel for some time before giving up.
Oddly, if I press "return" during the spinning, it (very) briefly displays the passcode, but of course by then it's too late, and fails saying that I got the passcode wrong!
This appears to be a Bluetooth system preference problem - is anyone else seeing this?
This Apple technote suggests that this keyboard should work with iOS, whereas the original aluminium one doesn't (although it's not entirely clear)... if it works with iOS, I can't see why it won't work with OS X 10.8.4!

My old Bluetooth Mighty Mouse won't work with my newer MBP running Mountain Lion, either. I suspect that the keyboard is incompatible with your new machine/OS X 10.8.x.

  • Bluetooth speakers won't connect with new Macbook Pro

I just sold my Macbook Pro (mid 2012 release) and purchased the brand new lighter, faster Macbook Pro Retina display that was just released a couple of weeks ago (Mid 2014).
There are a host of things this new Pro can't/won't do (which I didn't know upon purchasing it), but my question right now is: why won't my bluetooth speakers (which worked great with my other Macbook Pro) properly connect/work with my new one?  The bluetooth recognizes the speakers--it says they're there in the bluetooth set up--but they don't work, nor do they show up in my sound options (In my system preferences, only the internal speakers are listed as available output devices).  Why would they be visible but not able to be connected?
Is there a fix?  Can I get my bluetooth speakers to work?  Or are these more things (along with my Apple Remote) that I have to scrap?
    Thanks!

Me three.  Does not work at all, extremely frustrating for an educator who relies heavily on this technology

  • My iPod nano's bluetooth won't connect with my Macbook Pro after pairing, why?

Just purchased a new 7th generation iPod nano, synced it up to my iTunes account using the cable and charged it fully.
All working fine, except for when I tried to then connect it via bluetooth.
My Macbook Pro (which also has all the latest updates) was able to discover my iPod and when prompted to pair I did so and was presented with a code to verify on my iPod nano's screen. I clicked to confirm, and that is where the journey stopped.
when I try to connect it tells me it has failed and asks if it is within range, when it was sat an inch away.
I have tried reseting the iPod, forgetting the connection and pairing again several times, and tried to pair and connect whilst the cable was attached.
I'm assuming it's the iPod that is at fault as my mouse is fine.
I have run out of ideas.

Just sync, I'm not sure what else it is suppose to be able to do as I am yet to achieve a connection.
I am assuming it should be able to sync my library, playlists, etc.

  • My third party keyboard and mouse won't connect to my MacBook Pro

I recently purchased an Insignia keyboard and mouse combo. I'm trying to connect them to my MacBook Pro and they refuse to respond. On the box and online it said that this combo was Mac compatible. I am running OSX 10.9.4.

Sorry i should have mentioned that; i already have installed the drivers. I have the little boot camp console thingy and the display became to the right resolution after installing the drivers, so i know i have. Its something else, Windows based i think.

  • HT201335 my apple tv video is delayed when its mirrored with my macbook pro but he audio is fine.

When I mirror my macbook pro to my apple tv the video is greatly delayed but the audio is perfect. how can i fix this?

Clamshell and mirroring are two distinct concepts, I know.  As to the lost audio, I have restarted my equipment more than a few times.  It's usually one of my first options.  Just don't understand why the audio stays home and the video makes it to the tv.  That's with mirroring.
I really want to be able to close the lid of the MacBook and use the tv as a desktop.  With mirroring, the cursor is choppy and reacts slowly.  I wish to watch programming stored on my drives on the tv.  I dont really need or want mirroring, but it's the only way I know of to get desktop to the tv.  And mirroring still suffers audio loss.  Someone in the community mentioned using and external keyboard and "clamshell" but they didn't elaborate.  That's what I'm really wishing to accomplish.
    Thanks, Sir Winston.
