TS1589 my airport stopped working when i changed its location within the same network (wired)

Please help....I replaced my airport express with an apple tv and moved the airport to a different location within the same wired network and the light continues to flash amber. I know the ethernet connection is good and I have tried restarting the modem/router/airport with no change in status and when I look in the airport utility software, it reports that it cant see it. When I move back to its original location, the light goes green. What happened and how can i correct this issue? Thanks very much for any assistance.

the weird thing is that all Ive done is move its pysical location....my house has ethernet ports in every room all running through a common upstream router which in turn is connected to a dsl modem. At this point Ive hard reset the AX back to factory settings....now the AX utility sees the AX but shows me that it has a total of 3 problems. 1) Internet connection...2) no DNS servers...3) default settings. When I highlight "default settings" the info reads "this AX base station has default settings. You should configure it to connect to the internet, secure the wireless network, and provide a password. I assume that if I correct this, the other 2 troubles should take care of themselves. At the bottom of the page there are buttons that say...help, revert, update and a drop down menu that says default settings, recovered settings, create profile, edit profiles. not sure where to go from here. thaks for taking the time to help me.

Airport Stops working when system wakes from sleep.

Hi everyone. I have 2 macs in the house a mac mini and a intel based imac. Both have worked fine for sometime however they both are exhibiting the same issue. I think its an OS bug. But when both systems go to sleep and then are woken up at a later time to use, you are un able to get onto the internet. The airport seems to be down. However the airport menu in the task bar at the top of the screen shows that you are actively connected but you are unable to utilize any network resources internal or external. The only way ive found to counter act this is by turning the airport off then back on and voila everything works. I have done the following:
* repaired Disk Permissions
* removed the wifi profiles under the preferred networks
* Clean install of the system folder
Im currently running the latest OS on both machines. I make sure I stay current on apple updates. This issue only happens on the airport. If i use the ethernet port i have no issues. Im thinking this is still an OS issue.. Is anyone else having the same issue?

Can you please describe what you do to "Clean Install of the system folder"? I need to fix the same problem that occurred only after upgrading to 10.6.3. I'd really appreciate the clarification.

Msn Messenger for Mac stops working when i change the user!! Help?

i know this is not mac's fault but i wanna know if anyone knows how to fix it or what to do with this, this is what happens:
i installed msn messenger and signed in with my account, and everything works fine, then i lend my computer to my sister and she changed the account in msn so she could sign in with her email address, but she couldnt logg in it said "service is probably unavailable". When i got the MB back i tried to log in with my account and it said the same thing, i messed around with it a little bit and i dont know what i did but it started working again with only my account. Today at school a friend did the same thing my sister did and screwed it all up again, now i cant log in with my account and i dont know what to do ive tried messing with it a little but didnt work, any1 with this problem? help plz

that usuall happens when you are not connected to the internet. if you were running wifi your connection could have been lost for a moment and then recovered.

Iphone4 Email Stopped working when I changed my password

Hey all, I spent days trying to figure this out. I am sure this is in the manual somewhere but thought I would save you time if you have the same issue.
I change my MSN email password often to protect myself. After getting my new iphone 4 (Verizon), I changed my password on my email accounts. As soon as I changed the password, I went into the iphone settings and changed the setting there also. Then I could get emails but not send emails. After many searches, and playing with the iphone, I figured out why the email was not sending messages.
In the iphone4, you have change the new password for emails like msn in BOTH incoming and OUTGOING servers. You have to change the password twice for each email address.
Go to settings on the iphone, mail, contacts, calenders....select the email account that you changed the password for and then under INCOMING Mail Server, change the password to the new one. Then go down to OUTGOING Mail server, select, then it goes to Primary Server screen, so select the one at the top. Then change the password under OUTGOING server.

My iTunes just stopped working!!! Anyone else in the same boat?

I am running windows XP home with Service Pack 3.
I click on the iTunes desktop icon as I always have and I see the hourglass but no response.
I have tried to troubleshoot with Apple iTunes support and nothing.
I have followed instructions from online support and nothing.
Uninstalled and reinstalled as per Apple troubleshooting instructions and nothing.
Even the Apple tech seemed stunned saying something is wrong with the computer.
My computer is fine...I have not added or changed anything to it aside from the iTunes updates.
Is Apple going to fix this or tell us what is going on?
Has anyone else figured it out?

It's not the iphones, it's more likely one or more of your programs causing this issue. It's not the iPhone 6's. The possibility of you getting 2 bad iphones from different batches is extremely remote or you have the worst luck on the planet. lol If one iPhone has it, then you get a new one and the same problem comes up again, it's most likely due to an issue with a program that you keep getting back from restoring an old backup. Restore the iphone again and set up as a new iphone. Then manually import your music and your photos. Once that's done, try to use your iphone to see if everything is ok. If it works good for a few days, then try to add some of the apps. At some point, you'll end up loading the malicious app and the problem may come back. Make sure that the apps are all updated. If you still have problems, call Apple so that they can run a diagnostic report and find out which app is causing this issue. Then you can simply delete it and/or update the app. More solutions are available but that's all I will post for now.

If you are playing in hockey arenas a lot or if you are bringing it into bathroom same time as shower it may not seem like much but overtime the steam can acquire and build up in the phones usb dock flex cable swell as the home button flex cable. Bring again into apple store and should be covered under warranty again. could also be a delay in a 8gb 5c software may just be very lag.

Showtime freezes in ATV2 iphone 5s, but works on all non apple devices on the same network

I am watching showtime on AppleTV 2 and most shows freezes about 5 times per show the exact same place every time. I tested with my iphone 5s and it is doing the same thing. for example 46sec into Homeland S2E3 freezes every time. Any other non-apple device works fine with no issues. Netflix and HBO works great on all devices including the AppleTV and iphone.
I have 101mbit bandwidth with 12ms latency and Airport Extreme throughout the house.
Any ideas?

See Showtime anytime freezes for a little more about this. I think it is a problem at Showtime's end that we users can't do anything about.
FWIW, it also seems to affect people using something other than Apple TV's. A web search on "showtime anytime freezes" turned up a lot of hits complaining about this & other issues with the service.

Guide layer stops working when I change a movieClip

So I have a few things moving along a common guide layer.
There are 7 objects, and depending on what is happening on screen,
i want to have some of the objects appear and disappear. I have all
of the objects _alpha set to 0, but when something triggers it, I
change a few of them to _alpha=100. The problem is that, at that
point, they stop moving along the guide. I know they move because
they will be halfway across the screen, but then stop moving
immediately after I call the change in _alpha. Any ideas? Can you
not change the properties of a movieClip while it is moving on the
guide? Thanks...

Be sure to change the symbol to a button in both the library and in the properties panel. If you only change it in the properties panel, the tmeline will not change.

My Epson Perfection V500 photo scanner stopped working when I upgraded to Yosemite. The only scanner available is my Epson All-in-One.

I installed the new Yosemite operating system even though I was afraid something bad would happen. Well. it did. I can no longer scan photos using my photo scanner. I have updated all the drivers and it is still not working. I have an Epson Perfection V500 photo scanner, as well as an Epson WorkForce 845 all-in-one scanner, printer, copier. The 845 is on the network. The V500 is connected to my computer. For some reason, I keep getting the error that my V500 is not connected and when I try to add it, my mac does not find it. I know it is there. It was working before I upgraded. Help

You may have already done so, but if not...
Try a different USB cable.
Reboot your computer
Launch Disk Utility (in the Utilities folder) and Repair Disk Permission
in the left pane, click once on the name of your hard disk
in the right pane, click on the First Aid tab near the top
under the blank window, click the button "Repair Disk Permissions."
Afterward, click the "verify disk" button and it will check your hard disk.
Now, try your scanner...

ITunes sharing works for Vista but not XP on the same network

So all the basic settings are right under Edit->Preferences to share and seek shared music on the network.
Here's the topology:
A - Vista Laptop (wireless)
B - XP Service Pack 2 Laptop (wireless)
C - XP Service Pack 2 Desktop (wired)
A can see C
C can see A
C can see B
A can see B
B can't see anything
Since the other machines can see B I'm lost... can you help?

After digging and reading since I posted this question, I finally found the issue. My Cisco VPN client was set to stateful firewall (always on). When I turned off this setting, all machines worked for iTunes sharing. The Vista box was coincidentally working because the Cisco VPN client 4.6 didn't work on Vista.

Airport express has stopped working when college switched network to 'N'

Hi all,
My university has just switched their wireless to 'N'-band. My airport express ('G') is now upset: not only has airtunes stopped working (I previously had joined it to the dorm wireless network), but I can no longer even access my airport in the Airport Utility (5.3.2).
I've done a hard reset of my airport express and I still cannot access the device via the airport utility. When I click 'rescan', the device is never found.
I have noticed, however, the default network "Apple Network 600eab' appearing among my wireless network choices. Unfortunately, Airport never actually lets me join that network.
Does anyone have any ideas I can try?

Why does Airport Extreme stop working when I plug in a USB hard drive? The USB drive has its own power supply. I've tried isolating the hard drive from Airport using a powered USB hub to no avail.

The USB port on the AirPort Extreme is borderline as far as its ability to supply adequate power to a hard drive. Another way of saying the same thing is that this is not a high power USB port, like you would find on a computer.
Your 2TB drive likely requires a bit more current than the USB port on the AirPort Extreme can supply. It is also possible that the drive's firmware may not support a network USB connection....only a "local" connection to a computer. Check with Seagate support on that possibility.
Try using a powered USB hub with the 2TB drive....and make sure that the drive is formatted correctly in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) or FAT32....which the AirPort Extreme USB port can accept.

Project stops working when attempting to change working times. I'm running a 1000+ task project, fully resource loaded with multiple resource calendars. After two months of normal operation, it now appears that Project has deleted (or corrupted)
one of the base calendars that several of the resources use. Now, when attempting to change working time for a resource, sometimes I can get as far as a blank space where the base calendar name should be and an error message stating that there is a problem
with the resource; other times the program just stops working and shuts down. Any ideas on how to restore the file?

I agree with John. Save the file as XML and reopen it. Also, if you have backup of the file, use Organizer to copy the base calendar from the backup. To use organizer, open both the files in Project.
1. In Project 2007 or earlier versions, select Tools > Organizer. In Project 2010 and later, select File, Info > Organizer.
2. Click Calendars tab.
3. Change the Calendars available in: drop down on the right to current file, and other drop down to backup. This will list all the base calendars in each file.
4. Select the base calendar in the backup. Click the "Copy >>" to restore the base calendar.
