Did you already try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose data by resetting, but it can cure some glitches.

I don't think that a software update from Apple will solve the issues that you are having. You have a rogue installation. After you posted I have just done the following:
Disk Utility can verify my partitioned Volume (including my boot disk) AND REPAIR the non-boot disks on the same Volume without a glitch. It repairs the non-boot disks containing data smoothly.
I have used Mail to send some mails from some Yahoo and Hotmail accounts to my Thunderbird client containing GMail accounts - absolutely normal.
I have iLife '09 but my iMovie '09 and iPhoto '09 open in a jiffy and I see no issues here. I have 6GB RAM (Maximum) on an early 2008 Macbook Pro with a 750GB hard drive partitioned with 120GB reserved for the Boot Drive.
I am sorry that I cannot help further but I am sure there must be a way to reinstall the software without having to revert to restoring your ML backup. I have two clones and if you have such I would attempt to do that through that rather than through Time Machine - that is of course if you have a cloned drive.

Having probems with my iphone 4, when i get a call the caller can't hear me but i can hear them fine.
Can anyone help with this problem?

Have you tried a power off/on to see if that clears the problem?
Did you try a reset, hold the sleep/power button and home button for at least ten seconds?
If nothing is working to reset the phone, can you get to an Apple Retail store genius bar and have the staff take a look at it to see if something has failed?

Assuming you mean that you opened the phone and replaced something inside, there's not much anyone here can recommend.
Find a competent repair shop or buy a new phone. Apple won't touch that one now.

Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. That same switch, right above the volume buttons, can also be set to function instead as a mute button to silence certain types of audio.
If the switch is set to work as a mute button, you can change its purpose to “screen-rotation lock” by tapping the Settings icon on the home screen. On the Settings screen, tap General on the left side, and on the right side of the screen flick down to “Use Side Switch to.” Tap to select Lock Rotation or Mute to set the button’s function. Even if you set the side switch for your preferred use, you can still mute the Mini or lock the screen. Just double-click the Home button, and when the panel of apps appears along the bottom edge of the screen, flick the row from left to right with your finger. Tap the icon on the far left side of the row to either lock the iPad’s screen or mute the iPad’s alerts, notifications and sound effects. Music, podcasts and video are not muted unless you turn the volume all the way down.

My ipad doesn't seem to make a sound when it is closed or in sleep mode to let me know there is an imessage until you see it on the screen that someone has imessaged. When you're taking it makes the swoosh sound, just not when it's in sleep mode. Help

Am having some problems with the sounds on my ipad, specifically my imessage notification sound when your ipad is in sleep mode and someone is messaging you. The Speaker phone option on my iPhone 4s is no longer working. Whenever I press the speakerphone button I can no longer hear anything and can not get back to the call. I then must end the call in order to hear anything again. Its not the actual fault of the speaker either because I can still play music and hear it ring. It has always worked before and my phone is up to date. It seems to be the only thing that just randomly stopped working, and I use the speakphone option a lot. Help me please!!

I have reset my phone a few times and it still tells me when I push the volume buttons that it is my headphone volume. I have even tried turning off my Bluetooth setting and it still tells me that my headphones are where the volumes is. AHHHH!!!! I can not talk on my phone unless I use my blue tooth. There are a couple things you can try. The first thing I would recommend is resetting all settings by going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. If that doesn't work, take a look at the article below for additional troubleshooting steps.
